When I first moved to Kansas City, MO, I wanted to find a convenient gym and a knowledgeable trainer to push me further in obtaining my goals. I was very fortunate to meet Hannah who mentioned her husband, Matt, may have openings for personal-training sessions. I have been meeting Matt for over five weeks now and have had an extremely positive experience during every session with him. Matt clearly demonstrates knowledge in his profession while maintaining a fun and upbeat attitude. He is flexible with his time and approach and I always feel I can ask questions and bounce around various ideas. Matt takes the time to challenge your routine and find new ways to bring you closer to your goals. I truly believe both Hannah and Matt are committed to providing positive experiences to their clients and are willing to put in as much effort as their trainee. Working with Stephanie was one of the best experiences of my life. She agreed to help me during a weight loss challenge, the primary goal being to lose weight. However, she did not simply strive to help me shed pounds she geared her instruction and time towards helping me make a complete lifestyle change. She pushed me physically and mentally and taught me how important it is to carefully select the foods that enter your body. She made total fitness fun and something I looked forward to. I know now that it is not just about calories and cardio, she broadened my outlook and treated me as a whole personality. She is a fantastic fitness trainer and person, if given the opportunity I would highly recommend working with Stephanie!

Dhruv was a great personal trainer that really trailered to your every need. He made sure I had the necessary steps to achieving my goals such as using apps and a creating a simple meal plan. He made sure that I understood what I was working on and also made sure I was doing the exercise right which is what everyone should want in a trainer. With his help I lost over 20 pounds and he has given me the confidence that I never had before. Dhruv is very easy to work with and wants to see his clients succeed! He worked with my crazy work schedule and made sure I made up any workout I missed. I would 100% recommend Dhruv to anyone who is looking to lose weight or tone their bodies. Christina is a trainer and athlete who Has transformed my outlook on life. Because of her approach to her clients which includes my lovely wife, we are more fit, more energetic and overall have much more balance in life both physically and emotionally. Our clean eating regimen actually over time has made us prefer not to eat fried and fatty foods because of the way we feel the next day. Christina and her team are very highly recommended. Shout out to my other trainer Tom who truly makes me enjoy the rigorous workout. Wish I had started this program 20 years ago!!!!

Damiyahn was my trainer while I prepared for my MMA competitions. He always got me in tip top shape and his sessions were fun. I currently do not compete anymore, but I still love attending his classes. He works really well with all levels and is very professional and has become a reliable friend over the past 7 years.
I've been a member of several gyms in the KC Metro area and had several other personal trainers. Chris offers a completely different experience than the "norm". He takes a true interest in your health and safety. I've never seen another personal trainer spend the time Chris does to make sure you are performing exercises safely without risk of injury. He offers diverse exercises and work-outs. I've never felt stronger in my life.

I was seeking someone who would push me to my limit and have the knowledge to get me to where I want to be. I did not want a frilly gym that sells sugar shakes at a little bar. I didn't want someone who was going to hold my hand through little baby steps. What I was looking for was someone who could push me into what I need to reach my goals. I needed a trainer who is all or nothing. I wanted raw fitness. The real stuff. And that is exactly what I got with Michael Murphy. I'm overly impressed with the overall experience I had with the initial meeting with Michael. I've been working on my own for 2 months and realized I need help getting to where I want to be. Michael was the perfect choice. He is willing to work with my busy life schedule and customize a plan just for me that I can use at home. He is hardcore. He will push you to your limit and make your realize you have more in you than you could've ever dreamed. I am surprised I wasn't intimidated by this gym. I felt at home - and like everyone was there for the same reason. It wasn't like the mainstream places where its a competition who dresses the cutest. When you walk into this facility, all of the cuteness is left at the door. I walked out looking like I had just fought the biggest battle of my life. Its 2 days later and my muscles are still screaming. But I am going back for more tonight! This is the only fitness place for me. I'm very excited to see the end results, and I know with Michael, the results will come quickly.
FACT: Abu Shabazz is hands down the best trainer in the KC area. Top 5 reasons why: 1) Not only is he educated in different types of training (bikini/figure/fitness/physique/bodybuilding training & nutrition plans, boxing, self defense, speed & agility, sports performance, powerlifting, plain ol' "I need to get in shape" plans etc.), he also CONTINUES to educate himself. He stays informed on current topics and fads, evaluating what is right for each client and their goals. 2) He provides a GREAT value. You will not find a trainer that puts as much effort as he does at anywhere NEAR the same cost. 3) He cares. Plain and simple 4) He has real life experience. Not only has he helped hundreds of people meet their goals, he has also been a successful at reaching his own. Achieving professional status in natural bodybuilding and fighting golden gloves boxing. You can't really trust anyone unless they have been through it, and he sure has been through it ALL! 5) You can count on him to be there when you need. Trust is the number one component in any relationship, professional or personal. And you can trust Abu with your life! I could think of at least 10 more reasons Abu Shabazz is the best personal training in the KC area but will spare you the read. I chose to do a fitness competition last year. I had heard great things about Diana's coaching and program. So I knew if I was going to do this she had to be my coach. She far exceeded all of my expectations. She is very knowledgable in tailoring every program specifically to the individuals body type and goals to get the best results possible while staying with balanced meal plans and great workout routines to maximize results. I also love how she takes a personalized approach with everyone she works with!
The trainers at Bodies by Brad and Jen definitely know their stuff. They all have different areas of expertise which is a key component to getting you on your way to success. Whether its weight loss, muscle gain, running endurance, figure/body building competitions, accountability with your workouts, or you just need a good booty-kicking workout; the trainers will work alongside you ensuring you reach your goals. The facility has a great set-up too. They have done an awesome job creating a family-like environment with their clients. Everything from nutritional counseling, individualized workouts, cardio recommendations, accountability, etc. is included when you train with these guys. I cant say enough good things about what is going on in that studio. I highly recommend you partner with them as you begin (or continue) reaching whatever fitness goals you have! Did I mention the training there is VERY affordable compared to other personal training?!?
Amy is a wonderful trainer! She lead me in transforming my body in a way that I could have never done myself. Her personal attention to detail with her vast knowledge makes training with her different. There is no cookie cutter program! I never had any interest in doing a bikini competition before training with her, but she built my confidence to enter a NPC challenge. After entering in 2 shows, I placed top 5 in 5 different categories! The proof is in the picture! You can't go wrong with Amy:)

Seth is an amazing trainer! I recently had a cruise coming up and a fluffy body - not a good combo. Between his workout regimens and guidance with my diet, I was toned up and bikini body ready in just six weeks. Even though it was a difficult process, Seth was not only my trainer but my coach and cheerleader as well. He was there supporting me every step of the way. Despite every workout being a challenge, he made them fun. I can't recommend him enough. If you are looking to improve not just your physique but your overall health and confidence, Seth is the trainer for you! :)
I work with Maile a few years back as I was trying to back in shape to play competitive sports. She's an awesome trainer, and her training programs works for me. I got the results that I wanted. She motivates me and help me achieve my goals in such a short period of time. Also, she give me guidance on proper nutrition for athletes and such.
