Larry helped me learn the basics of the guitar. He is located off Shawnee Mission pkwy. It was only about a 10 min commute from Olathe. Pretty easy to get to the location! Every one at Funky Munky was so kind and helpful. Very laid back. Larry was truly a great instructor. He was very encouraging and patient. Larry was always on time and very professional. If something came up he would always let me know in advance. I really felt like I learned a lot while taking lessons from Larry. He starts with the basics and builds up. To really maximize your guitar experience you have to give it your all. It's all about what you are willing to put into it - how much you practice and how much you want to learn. Larry is there to help and does the best he can - he will go above and beyond to help you learn.

Larry Crabtree is an accomplished musician, yet has the patience and acumen to discern what "baby step" I needed to progress in my efforts to play the guitar. He has taught children to geriatric students, so has a vast experience base to taylor lessons to individual needs.

I have played guitar since I was 12 and am now 64. When I decided to expand my knowledge of the guitar and improve my technique there was only one person in my mind to go to, Jimmy Dykes. Jimmy' knowledge of all styles of music, his knowledge of reading, his knowledge of the fretboard is as good as it gets. His passion for guitar and the desire to pass this on through teaching makes him an outstanding instructor. I have recommended Jimmy to anyone who wants to take lessons on guitar or bass whether they are beginners or someone, like myself, who have played for a long time and want to take their playing to a higher level and expand their horizons.

As a self-taught guitar player for more than 40 years, Mr. Dykes has illuminated my path with knowledge and technique only he could do. Jimmy is very attentive to his students's learning abilities and quickly modifies his teaching technique to accommodate how his students learn. His patience is stellar and his approach in teaching is a science that we, as students, benefit. No need to worry about the drug scene. Music is the drug of choice!

Great, personable, and very professional teacher! Best of all, he is very motivating and encouraging to my teen daughter, who has just begun learning the guitar. We are very pleased with Jimmy Dykes as an instructor, and he is well worth the 30 minute drive to his studio!

Pete is fantastic! He's been instructing my daughter for about a month and a half now. He definitely has a methodical approach to his lesson and a goal that he is working towards. She is still learning many of the chords, but he has explained that they will soon pull it all together to make a song. I also really appreciate that he takes a little time to ask her about her life so they can get to know each other. My daughter looks forward to seeing him each week. Highly recommend him to those looking to start playing guitar!

I've been taking guitar lessons from Jay for about 1&1/2 years! Because of Jay's teaching method and patience, I have more than surpassed all expectations I had about being able to play the guitar. My goals were to learn how to play the guitar if I could and have FUN doing it! Jay's method, 'Vertical Truth' is easy to comprehend and with Jay's help I am playing more songs than I could have ever imagined. Also with Jay's help I have been able to begin transferring what knowledge of music theory I have from playing other instruments to the guitar! Simply put, Jays method of teaching is designed to help each student at their own pace as no two individuals are the same! 'Vertical Truth' is a fabulous way to learn how to play the guitar and Jay is a GREAT teacher! Thanks Jay!!!!👍

My daughter absolutely loves her lessons with Dave. She tells me each time that she loves it and once told me, without being prompted, that she really likes her teacher because he's patient and funny. From sitting outside of their lessons, I can tell you he knows his stuff and his doodling around even sounds wonderful. I hope for my daughter to spend many years working with Dave.

I've been taking guitar lessons for a couple months now and I've grown exponentially as a guitarist. It's a nice and friendly environment, and they have teachers who actually know what they're doing. I would recommend KC Music to everyone looking to become a better musician.

Just finished my first lesson with Tim. Everything went awesome! Tim was very patient and very helpful. I felt like I learned quite a bit just in the short time of our lesson. Very much looking forward to our next lesson. Over time I have a feeling Tim is going to help me become the guitar player I have always wanted to be! Would recommend to anyone wanting to learn, or just sharpen their skills even more. Many thanks Tim.

My 8yo took couple of lessons from Rob . He was very prompt in responding my appointment requests . My child loved that he went out of his way to listen to his fav song and worked with him to learn how to play it . Rob is obviously very passionate about music and it rubs on everyone around him . It was a pleasure taking lessons from him .

I have known Elizabeth for nearly 15 years. She has always strived to be the very best she can be, for herself and others. Elizabeth continues to find ways to enhance her abilities as a music professional. Elizabeth and I work closely together. I have observed her and her interactions with students, parents and colleagues. I have witnessed her students maturing in their music studies while having fun "playing" music. Elizabeth has an outstanding work / teaching ethic and has high standards for herself and those who work with her. I have, and will again, recommend Elizabeth as a private music teacher of harp, piano, guitar and music theory.
