Hi everyone! So where do I start?. I had a baby 17 months ago. I ended up having to have a cesarean and 6 weeks after that I had gall bladder surgery. For me this was one of the hardest times for my body and because he was my first baby, all I wanted to do was spend time with him( son no time for working out). Luckily my awesome trainer Devon reached out to me in December about doing some personal training sessions with him and after the first day, I was hooked. Devon is AMAZING, he is so passionate about personal training and about his clients. I have used different personal trainers in the past and none of the others have made me feel as comfortable as he has. Even when I felt like I couldn't finish a workout, he pushed me every single session. I promise your butt will be kicked every single time. Jonothan has been a key element to my success in this endeavor. I was ready for a change. I realized that when I had coaching, I was at my athletic peak. I got over my ego and pride, and realized I needed help. Jonothan makes it easy. All you have to do is show up and do the work he tells you to. It's really that simple. Over the past few months Jonothan has become my coach and much more. He really does care about me and my success. He asks how I am, reminds me to eat well. This accountability and care has meant so much to me. I have lost upwards of 15 lbs since starting with Jonothan and my neck and back pain have abated. For those of you living in pain, I entreat you to invest 30 min once a week. This could change your life. That and my waist is small, my best friend told me I was "buff", and I'm looking better everyday. I'm not saying that no work was required on my part. My trainer, Shelli, has a complete understanding of how to train individuals from not only a physical, but from an emotional and spiritual aspect as well! When I began training with Dwight, I had a basic concept of fitness and nutrition but I had no clue how each component effected my overall strength, health, and appearance. A lot of trainers just help you get into shape without really teaching the reasoning behind each excercise guide or diet plan they have you following. Well, Dwight is not one of those trainers... he did a great job explaining the "why's" and showing me how everything I was pursuing was directly correlated to achieving my desired results. Dwight also taught me the importance of doing correct technique in each and every excercise which is vital to avoiding injurys. After close to a year of training with him, I compared photos and was so pleased with the progress I had made with his help. He always did an amazing job accommodating my schedule and fitting me in with his! Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, Dwight is a great person (with a good humor) and someone I can call a good friend! I would highly recommend him as a personal trainer. I met with Beaux to discuss training options. We had a very honest conversation about my goals an what factors I felt were working against me. He was very nice and had very good input. Ultimately, we decided that his group training program was a good fit for me vs. private personal training. It's been about a month now since I started at GeauxFit, and I'm happy I did. Beaux and Kristen have created a great atmosphere for people of all fitness levels. Everyone at GeauxFit is very friendly and welcoming. It never feels like I'm competing against people who's fitness levels are higher than my own, rather just a supportive environment where I feel like I can focus on being better. Highly recommended.
