"Bulent is a fun loving teacher who loves music, and is wonderful with children of all ages. He has taught our daughter for both voice and piano lessons and our son for drum lessons. His technical knowledge is wonderful, he is exact with the students in regard to technique, breathing and stretching exercises, and body alignment. His lessons are fun and he is full of enthusiasm which rubs off on the students. He helps make younger students feel at ease, and has a gentle manner, which makes lessons very enjoyable. We would recommend Bulent to anyone, regardless of musical ability." Allyson P. and Jason E.

Kris has a way of making the material so easy to learn. Whenever I am stuck with a particular area, he breaks it down and we work on all of the parts together. Soon enough, it all comes together! I have learned A LOT since I first started taking drum lessons at The Drummers' Studio. I drive about 40 minutes after a long day of work to my drum lesson, and it is worth it every single time! I really can't say enough great things about The Drummers' Studio, a truly excellent experience that will leave you with great knowledge and skills.

Josh is an excellent teacher whose drum playing skills and general musical knowledge are impeccable. I started lessons with Josh this past summer to try and pick up a different instrument from guitar and improve my rhythmic abilities and he helped me progress a great deal on the drums. He has a great ear which he has developed from years of playing and which he keeps sharp by playing on a regular basis. He uses his very keen ears to pick up on the most minute details of your playing which will help you develop as a detail oriented player. I like Josh's teaching style, he's a very encouraging person and will celebrate your progress every step of the way, but he isn't afraid to tell you what you need to hear in order to improve as a player. All in all my experience with Josh has been great and I would 100% recommend him to a player of any skill level.

Sam is our 8 year old son's drum teacher, but he is the best drum teacher I could imagine for any aged learner. He is responsible about scheduling and a good communicator each week. More importantly, I am beyond impressed by the rapport that Sam has with all people, especially in our case, our son. He treats him seriously as a musician in the way he talks to him and when they jam together. There is no condescending attitude about teaching a little kid; Sam makes the most of every lesson and keeps him playing and engaged right up to the minute. Even more, 10 minutes after each lesson, we get a personal itunes email with a practice song or rhythm that is personalized just for our son! Summer scheduling could be a little tricky, but that worked both ways. I only hope that our rave review does not contribute to our losing Sam as a teacher, because he would be very hard to replace.

My son has taken drum lessons with Brian for a few years. What we all appreciate was that he was is so flexible with the music my son has to play from typical school music to praise music. He also has been very flexible with the times my son has his lessons. Brian has done an outstanding job both teaching and relating to my son. He has never been short with him but has encouraged him to grow in his music and to learn new and different techniques playing the drums. Brian is one of the few teachers I can honestly say without hesitation the lessons are great quality for the money and the lessons can only help my son to grow in the coming years.

I took lessons from John for seven years. In those seven years, I learned more from him than I could have learned from any other tutor. For the first four years, I took lessons directly from John, in person. Unfortunately, I needed to move and could no longer take lessons from him. We decided to give skype lessons a try and stuck with it for three more years with little difference. From drum-set, to piano, to snare drum, to djembe, he knows it all. Heck, if you're desperate, he'll show you some of his belly beats. If it wasn't for a busy schedule, I'd most certainly still be taking lessons from him. His lessons are very fun and laid-back! John is truly a phenomenal teacher!

I've tried several drum instructors for my son, and Jesse is the best by far. He brought back his motivation. He figures out what the student likes and moves from there. He's easy with programming the dates and provides a really good value for the student. I'll continue to have my child take courses from him and highly recommend him to potential students.

This is Lee and I’ve spent two semesters with Mike to continue with my drum set lesson. Mike is a very easygoing and professional teacher in percussion, and I enjoyed a lot to learn with him. Since I had a intense schedule in my own major, I could not guarantee my practice time length on my own, but Mike still tried to cover as much as possible and thought me a lot in percussion. I would recommend to study with Mike no mater what level you are in percussion. He is patient and accommodating.

I've taken 3 lessons with Ben and I am extremely happy and excited about the potential of my drumming! Ben is a great, thoughtful teacher that is not scared to throw new and exciting rhythms at you. As a beginner drummer with music experience, I value his patience and friendliness and he will even cater his lessons to any style you are curious about! If you are new to drumming or are at a higher level, Ben is the guy that will open your drumming to new levels. I look forward to our lessons and many more throughout the year!

I've had a few lessons with Steve, and so far so great. He is patient, he hones right in on what I want to learn, and he has simple, straightforward exercises and advice that is exactly on target for what I want to learn to do. He is also sincere and modest. He also makes me feel good about what I can already do. He's also a great resource and a great guy to talk music and drumming with. I always come away from my lessons with him energized, positive, and feeling good about myself and my progress.

Marco is AWESOME! I love my lessons and find him to be so great at making me relaxed and able to understand everything he's showing me and explaining to me. I've had teachers before, Marco is hands-down the best I've had. I feel so lucky to tap in to his knowledge and talents and extensive experience.

I have had an excellent experience taking drum lessons from juan. He is extremely good at assessing the skill level of the student and presenting challenging material that will allow the student to grow quickly. Juan has taught me not only very applicable grooves but also concepts that have both transformed my practice time and opened up my mind to the creative possiblities on my instrument. He has shown me several ways to maximize my practice time and ways in which I can most effectively integrate what I am learning into my natural playing. Juan is an extremely knowledgeable musician and I myself have grown as a musician after just over a month of taking lessons from him.

Ben has a good teaching style that works for me. What the path to accomplishment is and how what we're doing today contributes to that/fits into the big picture.

About

I am a Boston based graduate of Berklee College of Music, with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance. I create fun and engaging lessons for all ages that are tailored to your specific personalities and needs! I have worked with a wide range of age levels from 7 year olds to adults in their 40’s. The skill levels were anywhere from kids just wanting to try drums out, to students wanting an advanced method and perspective on drums and music. I try to cater to the student’s specific needs and preferences, and find great rewards in the various styles of teaching from beginner to advanced. I love to incorporate listening and transcribing famous beats or songs, as well as songs the students might want to learn. I use a mix of learning from notation and reading, with hearing things by ear as well, to develop a balanced connection between the limbs and ears. I use drum method books for things like 4-way independence in the limbs, and having good technique and control. I also think improvisation is an essential part of music, and I allow students to be free in expressing their musical ideas within the context of a song or groove. This is the most fun for me! One fun method I use is a “Call and Response” method, to work on memory and critical listening as well. It all depends on the pace that the student is most comfortable with, and maybe if they only want to learn their favorite pop/rock songs, that’s fine as well. I just might try incorporating the methods above in a more suitable way for that specific individual.
