Guitar Lessons : I had a good experience with Andy. I had to stop lessons for a long out of town trip. Plan on starting back in the spring 2014. I had a mixed bag of guitar skills and he was able to focus on what I needed to learn and show me how to do it. Thanks
Just started doing a few lessons for guitar but have plans to do singing lessons as well. He is versatile and flexible and is working on what I need for the goals I have. Great guy and worth the money so far.
I have taken guitar lessons from Alan Donati for a number of years in order to better understand music. Being a weathered rock/blues drummer myself, I can attest that Alan is a very accomplished musician and seasoned music teacher who learned his craft via years of playing in rock, blues and jazz bands as well as attending Berklee as a solid foundation. Alan can teach a number of instruments well such as guitar, bass and piano alongside incorporating music theory with the practical applications. He is very adapt with technology as well as “old school”. I have seen Alan teach many students with great patience with tailored attention to the particular student’s interest. Some veteran musicians can only play well but not teach. However, Alan can obviously do both. And so I am giving Alan an outstanding review and rating.
I was looking to take a few bass lessons as character research for a role, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I truly enjoyed working with Shimon and learning the bass guitar. I have a hectic schedule and Shimon was very flexible and accommodating. Thanks for all you help and support! I couldn't have been more satisfied with my experience.
I have three guitar lessons with Evan and he has already given me so much great stuff to work on! I had been teaching myself for about six months, but Evan has done so much more for me and shown me so many ways to improve. I am really looking forward to continuing learning from him.
Wanted to take piano lessons, so I called the owner, Kris, and he made me feel very confident and comfortable in going with his studio. Charlie, my piano teacher, is very good. He's attentive, patient, and most importantly challenges me. Great experience so far. Highly recommended.
Excellent piano teacher, both my boys, 9 & 7yrs old enjoyed their lessons and made pretty good progress. Most of all, they enjoyed making music! Many thanks to a great teacher!
Yaman is an excellent instructor. He's patient and always has a cheerful disposition and supportive attitude. It's obvious he truly adores the bass, and music in general, and that passion is infectious. I've been taking bass lessons with him for nearly a year and I've never had a lesson where I didn't leave inspired. My skills have risen exponentially faster than they would have without him, to the point where I'm now playing gigs! I couldn't recommend him highly enough.
I started private guitar lessons with Bob Wolfman a year and a half ago, with the hopes of getting past a guitar playing rut I’d been stuck in for a few years. I felt I had reached a plateau and that I wasn’t progressing much since I switched out of the music program at UMASS Lowell. Within my first few lessons with Bob I was already progressing more than I had with ten years of prior instruction! In my first three months of lessons with Bob, I was very impressed by his ability to simultaneously cater to my direct interests (music theory and improvisation) while exposing me to concepts I didn’t realize I needed to work on to get there (sight-reading, aural skills, chordal arrangements). We quickly set up a lesson plan and goals geared towards getting me where I wanted to be. I was so happy with the results that I eagerly enrolled into his year-long “Apprenticeship Program”. This program allowed us to plan my curriculum and keep me on track (and I had a realistic practice schedule that I could stick with). Last year, I progressed so much that I decided to start my second year in the program. I’m really glad that I did!! One of several things that separates Bob from a lot of other instructors is his focus on his students. He always sticks to his commitment to making me a better guitarist and musician, even if that means giving me extra time when he has it. And with his 30+ years of experience as a teacher, he knows how to personalize my lessons in a way that works for me. I highly recommend him for people just starting out on guitar, bass, etc., or for those like me who just need a kick start to get out of a rut. I am reaching my goals to becoming an accomplished pro guitarist very soon. Tyler Schmitt Apprenticeship Program Guitar student with Bob Wolfman
Chris is talented, kind, sensitive and flexible. She has shaped voice lessons for my child in a way that has encouraged her interest and cultivated her natural abilities. I wholeheartedly recommend Chris!
just what we'd hoped to find. Josh is professional and flexible, passionate about his work and he passes that love of music on in his lessons.
I am a double bass teacher as well as a luthier. My combined skills allow me to ensure that my students play with correct technique on an instrument that is properly set up. In my experience, most of the troubles that come with new students come from playing on an instrument that isn't made to play well. Proper technique along with a well set up instrument will give my student every advantage when performing and reducing the chance of injury that comes from playing with bad technique or playing on a bad instrument.
Karen is the BEST bass teacher. I have taken lessons from others in the past, and NONE of them matched Karen in terms of her clear communication, step-wise, logical instruction, and her ability to help me start building a solid musical foundation with fun and enjoyment. I recommend her without reservation!
John is a very talented music teacher. His passion for music truly comes through in his ability to teach and inspire. John taught my daughter guitar for a year ... we were sad that he was moving, otherwise he would still be teaching her! She learned a great deal and developed a true appreciation for music. What impressed me the most about John is that he is very patient, has a great way of interacting with kids, and really enjoys what he is doing. If a lesson needed to go over by a few minutes, it always did. That is very unusual with private lessons ... and was much appreciated! We highly recommend John as a guitar teacher.
I teach instruments to students of all ages. I can teach guitar, piano, bass and drums. Please contact me if you are interested.
I am a bass player from Memphis, TN, where funk, soul and those deep grooves live. I am looking for anyone who is serious about learning the bass guitar, I am your guy!
Coming from a very musical family, Joe started playing bass at the age of 9. While creating music for his own bands, Joe was quickly utilized as the go-to bassist for jazz band, chorus, string ensemble, and even musicals such as Les Miserable, Hello Dolly, etc. His interest in jazz brought him to Berklee College of Music, where he graduated with a degree in contemporary writing and production. Since then, Joe has toured the UK and Europe with international artist Christian Cuff and as a session musician and has shared the stage with artists such as B.B. King and James Otto. By playing styles from hip-hop to classical and anything in between, Joe now works as a producer/engineer in the world-class Rockinghorse Studios in Pittsfield, NH, while still finding the time to play numerous groups throughout New England. Joe's Teaching Philosophy: "My aim as a teacher is to help the student achieve his or her musical goals, which could be anything from strumming chords at a campfire to auditioning for a band. Either way, my intention is to inspire the student to practice and to inspire him/her to have fun. I strongly encourage students to be creative and develop their own style based on what they love about the music they listen to and ultimately want to play."
My goal as a teacher is to make sure that I completely understand the needs/goals of every student as individuals. It is by doing so that I am able to customize my lesson plans to fit each student, and form more open dialogue between students, parents, and myself. I also offer recital opportunities to those students who are up to the challenge of performing. Some will, and some will not, depending on their goals. Recitals are never mandatory, but always encouraged!
You can be more than just a voice! I offer private tutoring in the following: * Voice * Piano * Drama coaching * Music theory and composition Violin, guitar and bass are also available.
I teach the foundations of bass guitar through advanced levels. Lessons are designed to fit each student's interests and goals while covering essential topics to help them become accomplished musicians. The most important thing is the enjoyment of the instrument and music (that's why we play!) and that will be fostered through each lesson.
For many years I have worked with students aging from five years of age, my youngest student to date, to seventy-eight years of age, my oldest student to date. This experience encouraged me to create specific lesson plans that catered to each individual student's needs and level of proficiency on their given instrument be it Electric, Acoustic or Classical guitar, Electric Bass and Mandolin. The obstacles presented from teaching such a wide range of students have always been exciting to undertake and highly rewarding. This experience encouraged me to dive deeper in the psychology of learning and to refine my methods time and again. I find it endlessly intriguing to discover how each individual absorbs and integrates information differently and I love when my methods work across the board.
