I design tutoring around the whole learner: the skills a student needs, the confidence they are building, and the learning patterns that shape how they approach school.Through The Scholars’ Room, I provide personalized one-on-one tutoring in Math and ELA for students from elementary school through high school, using a structured, research-backed approach that combines diagnostics, targeted instruction, and consistent progress tracking. Every student begins with a low-pressure skills assessment so I can identify strengths, gaps, confidence barriers, and prerequisite skills that may be affecting their performance. From there, I build sessions around the student’s actual needs — not a generic worksheet or one-size-fits-all curriculum. What makes my tutoring different is the structure. Each session follows my FOCUS Method: Frame, Orient, Challenge, Use It, and Synthesize. This means students begin with a clear goal, connect new material to what they already know, work through meaningful challenges with support, apply the skill independently, and close by reflecting on what they learned. Parents also stay informed. My platform includes progress notes, diagnostic results, session history, and reports so families can see what we are working on and how their child is growing over time.
