About

I am a musician who has graduated from world class Conservatories such as the Oberlin Conservatory where I received my Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy, and the Boston Conservatory where I received my Masters Degree and Graduate Performance Diploma in Piano Performance. I have had incredible teachers and mentors like Peter Takacs, Spencer Myer, Gabriel Chodos, Michael Lewin, Yafei Chuang. With their guidance I have gained incredible knowledge about piano technique, musical phrasing, musical thinking, collaborating, and I have been able to be an inspiration to my students by passing to them all I have learned. As a participant at the Aspen Music Festival, I have seen marvelous performances of world renowned musicians, and that has enabled me to understand the beauty and complexity of music even more. Being exposed to such talent has given me even greater sensitivity and knowledge as a piano teacher. I am a native of the country of Bulgaria where I have been taught by the Russian school of piano teaching, which is very successful, methodical and inspiring. I love to see how much my students learn and how incredibly excited and thrilled they are when they have achieved their goal. I really enjoy listening to my students perform and I am always hugely proud.

About

I am an accomplished pianist with over 23 years of performance experience currently offering private piano lessons for students of all ages/levels. My teaching style is tailored very much to each individual's needs and goals. I do use some textbooks (especially for younger children), but as I get to know the students better, I create exercises and sheet music that are customized just for that student, so it really is a unique learning experience for each one of them. I am also committed to making learning music fun and exciting for all ages, from 5 years old to working professionals and beyond. Music is borderless and it's always a good time to start taking lessons at any age, at any level. I play games with younger children a lot, and I introduce a lot of contemporary music to teenagers and adult students. Through music that they know and are familiar with, I introduce and teach new concepts and theory, etc. Through teaching piano and music, I hope to not only guide students so that they learn how to play their favorite songs, but also invite them to a path of long term learning and enjoyment. I am here to help students and discover together how they could better practice, and what daily steps they can take in order to achieve their individual goals. The rest is up to them to absorb them, and to dive in, but I strive to make a difference, to inspire, and to have fun together. I teach any styles of music from classical, jazz, pop, rock, funk, gospel, world music, to name a few. As I said above, music is really borderless, and it is another form of communication. It's another language and it is universal! For me, learning and teaching piano isn't just about going over how and when to press the keys on the piano. It is also empowerment and encouragement through the power of music, through acquiring new set of skills... hoping that the students can go beyond their current limitations while broadening their horizons and expanding interests. I believe music has the power to move/change people, and if I can help guide students through the journey of becoming a better self through music, that is something that gives me immense joy and I feel that it is a gift I share with people around me.

About

I really go after the interests of my students so they have fun learning. Who doesnt want to learn how to play their favorite song from the radio or favorite movie? You will find your self more focused on learning if something that interests you is incorporated in the lessons. Seeing the neurons connect and seeing the student truly understand a concept. Helping mynstudent discover and understand is the best feeling.
