I hired Chef Kev through Thumbtack because he replied promptly to my request and already had a suggested menu based off of my needs. The event was my 1 year wedding anniversary and I requested drop-off catering for a buffet style dinner. The only change that I'd make is the time. Chef Kev was delayed due to traffic but looking back, if he was able to arrive just 15-20 minutes sooner I may have been less distracted and frantic! LOL! Everything else was absolutely awesome. The price was great, the flavor and creativity were amazing... all of my guests enjoyed the food! If I ever decide to hold another large event, Chef Kev will be the first caterer I call!
Maribel was a delight to work with. The whole process of getting our wedding reception planned and executed was seamless. We did not use a wedding planner (we're a couple of retirees!) and wanted a simple but elegant evening, and Maribel delivered. There was an abundant selection of menu choices, and we had the opportunity to attend a tasting session. Our guests raved about how good the food was, and we were pleased with the service, the lovely set-up of the tables, and the professionalism of the staff. Many thanks to her and Noel and their crew.
Eleven Courses did a wonderful job catering our wedding on Friday. Jim came up with a delicious personalized vegan menu for us, and he always responded to emails quickly whenever I had questions. On the wedding day, Chrissy was our catering coordinator, and she made sure we had everything we needed all night. I was also impressed with how quickly their staff was able to flip the room during cocktail hour since we had our ceremony and reception in the same place. Thank you!
I have worked with Candra multiple times for birthday parties, weddings, and other events. She is very creative, knowledgeable, driven, reasonable, and enthusiastic. With whatever event she has, she thoroughly plans it out, not missing any detail requested by her customer. She always does her best to satisfy customers. She has great work ethic, very personable; goes above and beyond the customer's request. She strives for excellence in whatever she does and is always willing to make involvements. She has great multi-tasking skills and management her time wisely. I can only see her improve in the future. I appreciate her services. I look forward to working with her again.
After I decided to plan a 70th birthday party for my father, I knew I wanted something different other than just a few guests at home. After speaking with the owner of ALD, April, about what I was looking for and what my budget was, she immediately started helping me brainstorm options for locations and vendors to take care of everything from cupcake orders to banners. She even went to visit the restaurant, see the room, and speak to the restaurant event planner before I could make it over to the location. April is super organized and has timelines and deadlines for each step in planning the event and she always returned my calls and emails in a timely manner. When the day of the event arrived she had all of the materials as discussed and decorated the dining room with a beautiful black and gold theme. She provided everything from chair covers and table linens to balloons. Everything went as planned and she stayed around to make sure everything was on track. I'm so glad that I worked with ALD! They created a memorable and unforgettable event.

Mary really helped make our wedding day go off without a hitch! She was so incredibly supportive of all of our ideas when we first started talking, and checked in a lot along the way. We had our wedding in a park on a limited budget, so we had to bring in a lot of our own stuff, and Mary got it all there, and helped set everything up logically. She even had some of her own supplies she let us use. She made sure the day flowed smoothly so we could really enjoy ourselves and not worry. If you're wondering if you could use her help, you definitely could!
Michele and Laura are absolutely amazing and I highly suggestion them for any type of event! They were such a delight I now consider them friends. I hired them as day of planner for my wedding about 30 days before the wedding date and they jumped right in and help me with all details and logistics for the day so I didn't have to think about anything. They worked with all of the vendors I hired to coordinate and schedule out the day of the wedding as well as the details needed before the day. They also came to every meeting with me that I had at the hotel(reception site) from the day I hired them to the day before the wedding. They were there to protect me and my ideas and vision for my wedding day. Every email I sent with questions was answered within hours if not sooner. And trust me, I sent a lot of emails :-) My wedding was amazing and I owe it to them for it being possible. They were able to source signs and décor I wanted last min,the day before the wedding!!There were some hiccups that happened the "Day of" but I didn't even know about them because Michele and Laura from hotel to the church helped smooth it all out and knew what I wanted and were able to make decisions for me. They really do it all, the hotel coordinator left before my desserts were plated, so Michele and Laura were in the kitchen plating desserts for the buffet. And the last song of the night Michele, the multi-talented lady that she is, played the drums with our band!! Honestly, their professionalism, coordinating skills and genuine care and passion for their events make these two the BEST!
Jacqueline was the most professional, warm, efficient wedding planners I've ever worked with! She made sure to keep the wedding party updated with itineraries & the wedding went off without a hitch! I HIGHLY recommend Jacqueline & hope to use her for my wedding!
I am a bride on a tight budget, so I intended to do all of my wedding planning, but in January I realized I needed someone to help me coordinate on the day of the wedding (May 21, 2017). I had an absolute great experience with Leslie!! She coordinated my wedding on April 16, 2016. She was very attentive and even offered great ideas for our wedding. After our first meeting, I knew in fact, she would do great things for our wedding. On the day of the wedding, there was no stress of anything. Leslie and Crystal made sure everything was put together perfectly with the vendors (photo booth and my cake vendor) and hotel staff. We had such a fabulous experience with Kimberly and her staff! Coming from an event-planning background myself, I was more of a type-A bride than I would like to admit. Two weeks before the wedding, I handed Kimberly a 40-pg field manual (unsolicited) with detailed instructions on how to set up the venue and a timeline detailing the day's events down to the minute. I'll be the first person to admit that it was not an easy road map to follow, and Kimberly and her staff executed it perfectly. The decorations looked better than I had ever imagined and the whole event ran incredibly smoothly, despite my husband and I making several changes to the plan on the day of the wedding. She and her staff were in excellent communication with our DJ, MC, and live musician, and virtually unseen by the rest of the guests. Moreover, she maintained an incredible attitude throughout and was a joy to work with. I couldn't be more pleased with the experience and I know our guests would agree!
As the mother of the bride I was very pleased at how everyone at Top Shelf worked be hid the scene to make my daughters wedding the perfect event. All that were involved gave a 110%. DIY handled my Wedding! From the beginning they came with unique ideas matching my color scheme, my style ideas and my budget. They were patient in allowing me the time to review their suggestions that fit with my needs. Oh, and their the small details... Everything was fabulous!!!
When my now wife and I set out to plan our wedding, we were one of those couples who thought hiring a planner was unnecessary. We had roughly 6 months to pull it off. We fancy ourselves as reasonably intelligent and financially responsible people and we thought that was plenty of time. Fast forward 4 months. The stress began to mount and panic had set in. Our budget is dwindling. We broke down and decided to hire a day-of coordinator. Better late than never, but who do we call? Every one we spoke to was either way too expensive or not the right fit personality wise. Thanks to Thumbtack, we found Vanessa. We are incredibly happy we did and we couldn't have pulled off our awesome wedding without her. Here's just a few of the reasons why: 1) Attitude - She has the PERFECT demeanor for event planning. She kept us on track, but was never pushy. Very personable and easy to talk to. Every time we spoke to her we felt both at ease and motivated to check more off of our list. 2) Creativity - Simply put she has great ideas. Whether it was decor, logistics, floor planning, etc., she listened to our inputs (which weren't always in lockstep - welcome to married life) but put here own spin on things. Our wedding was weeks ago and we still are getting comments on how beautiful everything was. 3) Contacts - Vanessa made great recommendations for vendors, and didn't do so based on any kickbacks or financial gain to herself. In fact, we had one vendor who was somewhat flaky that we had already booked. She was able to line up a "just in case" vendor for us. 4) Organization - Nothing fell through the cracks and she thought of small details we didn't have the capacity to (because we were too busy being crazy pants). 5) Value - She is worth every penny and I would argue she is a bargain for the service she provides. This is especially in comparison to other planners out there. If you need help planning an event, not just a wedding, we highly suggest you reach out to Vanessa @ Little Black Book. You absolutely will not regret it.
My husband and I are so grateful we had the opportunity to have S.D events assist with our wedding day! Sara and her sister were extremely professional and worked so hard to get the job done! Sara was so much more than a typical day of planner! She made sure she was well informed every step of the way! Sara was very quick at answering ALL my questions! Sara helped keep the wedding process as fun and stress free as possible. My husband and I were able to enjoy every minute of our day ( and our days leading up to the wedding) because we knew Sara had everything under control we trusted her completely ! Most importantly, Sara & S.D Events made us feel apart of their family, and made sure we were taken care of. We have already recommended S.D Events to our friends!
K.Chic Events did our family reunion which was incredible and in the making for a year! KISHA kept all family members abreast to what was going on since a lot of the family lived out of town! Kisha even went out of her way to handle lounging for some of the family. That was a major plus.The food,decorations,DJ was absolutely fabulous!! Kisha even had a few surprises for us (the family) with shirts with every member name on it,celebrating my mothers' birthday, plus my 40th wedding anniversary! Kisha professionalism was incredible! Stacia was a complete JOY, to work with! She made our special day from start to finish The Best Day Ever! She was accountable, self motivating, very creative, she stayed waaayyyy ahead of schedule, and she really got in tuned with our style, as well as who we are as a couple, to create a PERFECT setting for our Wedding Day. She litterally took all of the stress of the planning process completely away! Her level of expertise about the whole wedding planning process, really put us at ease since I had never done this before. She is a business woman, and an artist! Working with The Willow/Seye was an amazing experience. She was patient and brought my vision to life more so than I could ever have imagined. She had less than six months to plan 3 days of Wedding ceremonies for 400 guests...not many could do that and pull it off as well as she did! I'm so grateful for Seye coming into our lives when she did and wholeheartedly do not believe anyone else would have been able to deliver like The Willow was able. I recommend EVERY bride contact her - she is that good!
