EBRR Property Maintenance Services is a well-organized and Trust worthy company. I received an estimate in just one day and started the work next day after the estimate. If you need an immediate solution/work I would recommend EBRR Company. I have had many companies and individuals coming in with their estimates, but none was as detailed as they were. Added advantage is; the service is good, they are very professional and ready to take the extra step to keep the customer happy. I would suggest EBRR to anyone who needs Insulation done. Thank you!

Job was outstanding. Charlie and his team are very considerate, helpful, efficient, and professional. The quote was also reasonable. He seems to put the customer first, so he was able to accommodate additional requests even if they weren't his responsibility. Great working with him - will certainly use his services again/recommend his services to others.

Anthony from Eastbay Movers and Landscaping Services did a great job for me. He showed up on time. Took care of my landscaping needs, planted new bushes, laid down mulch, trimmed a tree, and will continue to help me with lawn maintenance. He also hauled off a large pick-up load of junk that I needed to get rid of. This is a great added value to his services. He does landscaping and he is able to haul items away for you. Very helpful. Furthermore, he is knowledgeable on the landscaping side and has given me very good advice for the best approach to maintaining the yard and when to do what. He will also bring in additional help when he thinks it is necessary. He is very accessible - takes calls and will send you pictures of his work if you are off-site. Very nice person too.

Working with Pro Lawn Care LLC was a breeze and a dream. David was always promptly responsive to any and all of my questions, issues, etc. His crew arrived on time and did an outstanding job and I couldn't ask for a better landscaper to work with. The crew got to work right away clearing out the old and installing the new. If they had any questions, they asked promptly for our opinion, decision, etc. Our yard went from the worst looking one in the neighborhood to the best looking one. I highly recommend Pro Lawn Care, LLC to anyone in the area who needs landscaping services.

I had a tenant move out and left the yard of the townhouse a disaster. It looked as if they hadn't done any yard maintenance in months with piles of leaves blown into the corners and weeds and vines all over the back yard and fence. Reinaldo did a great job on short notice getting the yard fixed up and ready for the next tenant. Great job! You guys got the work done exactly as requested and faster than I could have imagined. Thank you. I will hire Del Ray again to take care of future yard maintenance and landscaping projects.

I had a very positive and productive experience with Dwayne's Superior Lawn. My yard was resembling the Amazon Jungle. Dwayne's Lawn Service responded quickly, scheduled an appointment, and had my yard looking respectable as evidenced by the neighbors smiling and giving me the thumbs up sign. I plan on using this company for regular yard service and highly recommend them to customers seeking lawn service or maintenance!

Makimanta landscaping was the lowest of the two bids I got for my job, which was to re-sod my front lawn. I needed it done quickly and they were able to rearrange their schedule and started right away. They did a thorough and professional job. My new lawn looks beautiful and all my neighbors say they are jealous. I would definitely highly recommend Makimanta Landscaping services for your landscaping needs.

The service went very well. Everything came out as expected. The only (minor) complaint I could have relates to the longish time it took to complete the job. But, being a 100% outdoors job that didn't affect the household workings in any manner, we were fine with it. We are pleased with the results. The paving and retaining wall system they used (Nicolock) seems to be of very good quality. Rainwater drainage was a big problem with the older walkway, and they took their time to replace it with a much better installation. Their personnel demonstrated experience in dealing with this kind of construction, even giving a few useful suggestions on how to tackle little problems as they surfaced. I would definitely recommend their services to other prospective clients, for sure.

I hired Adkins Landscapes for landscape maintenance around my home and lawn maintenance in my backyard. The lawn was in terrible shape and they brought the grass back to a beautiful rich thick green lawn. The team did a thorough spring cleanup and feeding/mulching of all landscaped beds in the back yard and just recently did an excellent job of expanding an older landscape bed in the side yard and planted a lovely new tree in the midst of it. The company is very personable in working with you to meet your needs, very knowledgeable in making recommendations, and has a high standard of quality in their work.

Jose did a great job and charged a reasonable price. He even came back to take care of a hard to get area he wasn't able to at first. I will definitely be going with Jose and Delfin Landscaping Services for any yard related work I need in the future.

Anthony and Monty have been providing lawn care services to me for three years. They're really great with lawns; before them my lawn was a total disaster, but after the first summer of their services my lawn is healthy and beautiful. I'm inclined to say because of Anthony and Monty's knowledge and care of my lawn it's the best lawn on the block. I look forward to seeing them this spring and summer. Their equipment is nicely maintained and their prices are fair, but what you can't put a price on is their honesty and genuine care of their customers. On several occasions they did lawn maintenance and hauling of my extra junk. They're absolutely positively terrific. See before and after photos. Ms. V A Strickland

He was very responsive with communication and pricing was very fair. Overall, I would highly recommend Bruce and Sycamore Services for tree removal

Mr. Danel and crew repaired a half dozen or so pot holes in our road and parking lot surfaces. These had been repaired before by others but the repairs did not last. The repairs by Mr. Danel have been holding up quite well. I will definitely be having him back to do crack filling and seal coating.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a landscape contractor do?

Landscape contractors work from outdoor architectural or design plans to build and install hardscaping or softscaping for the client, much as a general contractor uses architectural designs to build a house. Landscape contractors are experts in soil drainage, grading, hardscaping (installing concrete paths and retaining wall, building ponds, etc.), and planting. They have heavy equipment such as excavators and tractors to prepare the land as needed.

Some landscape contractors are also landscape architects or landscape designers. The titles can be compared with those in home construction: A building or landscape architect must earn a specialized architecture degree and pass an exam to have a license. A designer — whether an interior designer or a landscape designer — does not usually require a license to work. Landscape contractors are not required by law to work from plans designed by a landscape architect, so you may work directly with the landscape contractor to specify the work you’d like done. The national average cost for large-scale landscaping projects is $10,160. Pricing can vary greatly depending on the project scope, materials and design.

How do you find a good landscape architect?

Hiring a landscape architect is an investment in your home. Landscaping can reduce water bills, improve your home resale value, add to your daily living experience and significantly boost curb appeal. A landscape architect will draw the designs for your new landscape; you’ll want to hire a landscape contractor to carry out the plans. Many companies provide design-build landscaping services, with a company architect creating plans for your vision and the landscape contractor executing the vision. With the proper academic background and licensing, a person can be both landscape architect and landscape contractor. Here are a few tips for finding a great landscape architect:

  • Research online portfolios and find several landscape architects whose work interests you.
  • Read online reviews of client experiences.
  • Research whether the landscape architects you are interested in are currently licensed and in good standing with the licensing board, and check whether any complaints have been issued against them. Each state will have their own searchable database. For example, you can search for California landscape architects via the state’s Department of Consumer Affairs.
  • Request bids from your selected landscape architects.
  • Hire the one you like the most, taking care to have a clearly written contract outlining scope of work.

How much does it cost to have your lawn mowed?

Regular lawn maintenance can do wonders for your home’s curb appeal. Professional lawn care prices will vary based on the regional cost to do business and regional cost of labor, the size of your lawn, and any additional services you may desire such as edging or mulching. The national average for lawn mowing costs is $30-$50. Pros may charge an hourly rate, a flat rate or by the square foot (an acre contains 43,560 square feet). Square footage rates factor in the professional’s time, the use of their equipment, and the gas to operate the mower. Distance may also affect cost: If you live outside the company’s standard service range, you may pay an additional travel fee. Here are some examples of average prices for mowing and lawn maintenance:

  • Up to 8,000-square-foot property: $30 per week/$120 per month.
    • Bimonthly: $40 per service/$80 per month.
    • One time only: $45 per service.
      • Prices include mowing all turf grass areas; trimming grass away from fences, structures, trees, and lawn edges; and clearing or blowing all grass trimmings from driveways, sidewalks, curbs, etc.
  • Hourly rate: $25 per hour (including travel, equipment costs and labor).
  • Lot size:
    • Smaller lots in subdivisions: $35.
    • Half-acre lot: $50.
    • One-acre lot: $100.

What should you look for when hiring a landscaper?

Landscaping can be costly — though it usually pays off in curb appeal and home resale value — so finding a landscaper who is worth the investment is important. When hiring a landscaper, look for proven success with the type of results you want. For example, if you know you want a drought-tolerant yard, research websites, reviews and portfolios that showcase beautiful drought-tolerant yards that the landscaper has installed. In addition to relevant experience, you’ll want to find a landscape contractor who has good client reviews. Good communication skills are another important quality in a landscape contractor, since everything from plant selection to hardscape installation needs to be discussed and agreed upon. A landscape contractor who is reliable, easy to understand and able to listen to what you want will help make the process seamless and enjoyable.

How much does it cost to have landscaping done?

Professional landscaping can help reinvent your outdoor space, boost your curb appeal and get a major return on investment with. Landscaping can encompass anything from adding new plants, trees and shrubs, to leveling the ground and laying sod for a lawn, to building in hardscaping such as sidewalks, water features or retaining walls. The national average landscaping price is $10,160. Landscaping prices can be far lower (with hourly rates ranging from $50 to $150) if you’re only seeking professional help with softscaping or seeking consultation on landscape design. Softscaping means adding or changing horticultural elements, such as planting a garden or adding a hedge. Hardscaping is where costs can really start to rise. Hardscaping requires labor and heavy equipment to excavate the earth; you may need to pour concrete, or you may need a pro who can transport and place gravel and other inorganic elements. Your total landscaping cost will vary based on the amount of work you want done, how much labor is required, and the cost of the materials you are using. A good rule of thumb for a major landscaping project, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects, is to budget 5 percent to 10 percent of the value of your home.
