Jones4Fitness responded to my on-line request and promptly suggested Mariam Said as a Fitness Trainer. I pay by check every five training sessions and Jones4Fitness has been very professional and prompt in their communications. VERY IMPORTANT to me was a trainer who could adapt exercises to my physical needs. I have had knee surgery with another surgery pending on my second knee and right shoulder rotator cuff issues. Since January 2014 Mariam has led me through increasingly higher levels of exercise; always checking to stay inside my pain boundaries but extending my capabilities. By constantly designing exercises around my various and changing physical needs Mariam has given me the confidence to stop protecting my sore arm and knees and move forward. I now have increased muscle strength, range and flexibility, feel energized and have also lost weight. When looking for a personal trainer, it struck me exactly how hard it is to find quality in any service. Most people are bad at most things, and people that take their work seriously are rare. I signed up for some classes with a trainer at my gym. Paid a reasonable amount. Got terrible advice and hurt myself. The trainer was probably trying his best but just didn't have the experience or knowledge to help me learn correctly. I was afraid to make a more serious financial commitment with no guarantee that I'd get better results... but I tried out ELIN, and I'm glad I did. I got a phone call from Elin and was immediately impressed with his knowledge and his ability to communicate effectively about critical aspects of getting in shape. It was clear this was a no-bs trainer that was interested in actually providing training rather than tricking me into paying an exorbitant price and then phoning it in. I began sessions with a trainer named Kris. Kris had the body to indicate that he knows how to work out, but that isn't always enough. You have to be an effective teacher as well. It turns out Kris has an excellent eye for form and was able to explain, over the course of our sessions, specific issues with my body that needed to be addressed. He found exercises that addressed those issues, and if I had difficulty with that exercise, he found a new one that worked better. He strikes an excellent balance between fixing form and letting you get on with the workout, neither constantly interrupting you nor letting you do useless reps. He was also able to explain and demonstrate over time the importance of the less glamorous parts of the workout, such as stretching and SMR, which all of us "know" are important but which we never really accept as crucial. In short, all of my expectations for hiring a professional trainer were met. These guys don't screw around. If you're serious, hire ELIN.

Everyone wants to read that Rob gets results, and yes that is absolutely true so let's start there. And he ensures everyone gets noticeable results very quickly. Beyond being an excellent results-driven trainer, Rob is very low-stress, focused on health, and keeps a positive attitude with his clients. I also enjoy working with his group fitness classes as he takes pride in working with NORMAL PEOPLE and gives them reasonable goals step-by-step until reaching an optimal fitness goal - which is how he keeps his clients long term and instills a drive to JUST KEEP GOING! Rob is easy to work with so there is no quitting attitude because it was way too much to handle (or too little) - he truly finds a perfect balance for every workout. My personal results with Rob was from very out of shape to very in-shape in 6 months time - with about 40 pounds lost (and dropped about half of that in the first 6-8 weeks - and I'm not much of a dieter). Rob is also very, very reasonably priced and not greedy - despite being in an industry where he could very easily charge a lot more for what he does. I would not work with any other trainer and I whole-heartedly recommend him to everyone. I never had a thought about working with a trainer until Rob approached me on a treadmill in 2009. Thanks, Rob, for 6 awesome years now!

I met with Robert for an initial consultation, and then I was paired with Garid as my trainer. Garid is great! He comes to my home twice a week. Each excercise session is different from the last, challenging, and motivating. Garid adjusts my program as needed to accommodate previous knee and shoulder injuries. I strongly recommend Shawn as your personal trainer. I am a 37 year old with a very sedentary job and completely out of shape . I have been working with Shawn for 6 weeks, thrice a week. My problem with a one size fitness program like p90x or a group class is that I cannot actually do them - i either injure myself or get so exhausted I cant do my work - so I can stick to a program and dont see results. Shawn took all of this into account and designed a custom program for me. He pushes me (but not to break point), mixes up the routine (that helps me stay interested) and offers a good explanation for why I am doing something. The diet plan is great. He is very professional and will email you meeting requests to schedule time and is on time for class. Thanks to Shawn, 6 weeks of rigorous exercise is the most I have done in my life - I hope to keep this streak going.

I like to think I know when I'm doing when it comes to weight loss as I've lost over 275 pounds over three years. Then I hit a very frustrating eight month plateau and decided I needed help. That's when I met Agnese and employed her to get me back on track. I complain a lot when working out with her but I have now lost weight seven straight weeks and counting. I love working with Cornelius. We meet twice a week and July will be my 3rd month of having him help me with fitness and strength training. There are many reasons why I would recommend him. Here are a few. I am 45 year old woman, 5.5 in height and weigh 230lbs. I was a strong swimmer when I was younger, but have never spent much time in gyms. I would describe myself as having little to no awareness of myself as someone who can train. But I did know that I needed and wanted to get into much better shape. I was also excited about developing better balance, a stronger core, and even new skills like boxing. When I met Cornelius he asked me detailed questions about why I was there and began to develop a program around my strengths, goals and limitations, which included a lower back injury and tendinitis in my left elbow. Every time we meet he asks briefly on how I am doing, and I know he is thinking through the workout to take me to the limit of my capabilities while still ensuring that it is enjoyable. I always have a great time and am tired but invigorated when I leave. This has altered how I view exercise and feel about myself. The gym where we train is tiny but has taught me important things about how less is more, and that you can do a lot with what's around you. This has been a huge help in keeping on training when traveling as you don't need to find a gym but can do many things to build strength and keep in shape where you are. Finally, I feel safe and respected working with Cornelius in the little gym and know that we are on a steady positive path to making real and lasting improvements to my health and wellbeing. I can't think of a better investment to make than that.

I have had a total of 24 training sessions with Cornelius thus far. I hired him because I wanted to lose 20lbs and get toned. I am already half way to my goal. I have lost 10lbs, several inches, and I'm beginning to see muscle definition. He will work with you from where you are at physically and build your endurance up. He has been a great help in refining my diet and making sure I stay on track. The great thing about Cornelius is he builds a great relationship with his clients and encourages you to reach your goals. I discovered Jenise through thumbtack and by reading reviews about her. I had been seeking for a personal trainer. After my initial consultation, I knew that she was the trainer for me. To give an overview of my fitness level: I am 26. I am a non-athlete. Actually, I’m pretty uncoordinated and clumsy and have never regularly exercised before. I love yoga but I also never got into doing it regularly enough. Its rare to get the motivation for me to get up and go to the gym which is why I chose to seek a personal trainer that can come to me and give me an individualized service. When I contacted Jenise, she offered for a consultation and to see my goals and ultimately see if my schedule will fit in with hers. I should have worn appropriate clothing at that time to do a fitness assessment… nevertheless, after booking she came to me for the assessment, measurements, and weigh-in. We completed 12 sessions in a 1 month period. Just like learning a new skill or a language or an insurance for a healthier life in the future— every penny is worth it. If I could afford it, I would for sure continue working out with Jenise 3 times a week all my life!! But this has been a really great stepping stone to a STRONGER me. The workouts as other reviews mention are different each time although during every session you focus on different parts of the body. Usually you do one session focusing on lower body, one on upper body and one focusing on the core. She makes sure that your workout is high-intensity and always adds new moves or gadgets to the workouts to make it fun. Boxing, resistance training outside in the neighborhood, when the weather is nice, were some of the highlights for me. Even though, I liked the convenience of her coming to me.. I also liked going to her location at the end of the week to top off my workout and get the MOST out of my weekly workouts. Her gym has all the equipment needed to kick butt. She really understands the anatomy and where your weaknesses lie as a unique individual. She builds your workouts according to these and changes the number of repetitions or the amount of weight as necessary during the workout. She watches you closely on your form and ensures you get the most out of every exercise. I personally never liked working out because I never knew how to. I knew I had terrible form and didn’t know how to fix it. Jenise became a teacher to me and showed me how to properly lift. She also always reminded me to breathe when I exerted energy (I tend to hold my breath when I lift .. its no bueno!) Now I see that I have made progress and I have learned proper form, I am keen to continue with it. My 12 sessions came to an end last week. I would 100% renew more sessions with Jenise if it weren’t for my mother looking to join a gym with me. Right now, my finances and time aren’t allowing me to afford both, but I know for certain Jenise and I will be training again in the future. I can tell she has made a STRONGER me and I don’t want to lose any of what I have worked for this past month! If you are hesitant, I get that. Truly. But give it a shot. Jenise is wonderful. Trust her, she knows exactly what you need. I'm so glad I trusted her on this journey. I highly recommend CW3 to everyone!

Xavier is a terrific trainer! I shared my fitness goal with him during our first meeting and we immediately got to work. From the first day, he did an excellent job tailoring the workout to challenge me more and more. I absolutely loved it. I'm impressed with the level of fitness, stamina and weight loss I achieved working under Stacey Roach! Loved the fast paced routines that allowed me to sweat and burn calories - that's my goal. She also helped me modify certain exercises (because I have knee issues) to suit my physical restrictions. When I started training with Sean I was a 39 year old mother of two. I've struggled with my weight my whole life. I didn't exercise; didn't really know how to, and I certainly didn't watch what I ate. That's not the role model I wanted to be for my kids. I didn't want to be the mom who sat on the sidelines and watched her kids lives go by. I found Sean through a co-worker. I have trained with Tim on and off for the past 5 years. He has helped me to reach the various goals I set for myself over the years . . . from increasing fitness level, losing weight, shaping my body and overcoming and preventing injury. He has always been professional, supportive and very motivating. I met Tim shortly after having my son and my goal was to return to pre-baby shape and fitness level. Tim helped me to meet the pre-baby shape goal and exceeded the fitness level goal I had set. The workouts were always challenging and motivating. Tim and I usually met twice a week for 30 minutes of high intensity interval training (I would warm up and cool down on my own). At this point my cardio endurance was low and he really helped me to increase it. After meeting my goal I was able to maintain our progress on my own at the gym using the knowledge I gained from my sessions with Tim. Two years later, I realized I was slipping on my own (I love to eat and drink red wine!) and contacted Tim to regain the shape and fitness level we had previously established. Tim assessed my fitness level and created workouts that met my needs. Tim is great at identifying areas of weakness and tailoring exercises to strengthen those areas. Our workouts were typically 30 minutes, twice a week. This time, Tim began incorporating a lot more weight training. After several months of working with Tim, I once again exceeded my goals and I was stronger and more fit than I had ever been. I was able to go back to working out on my own, using the workouts and information I had gained from him, and maintain my fitness level. I frequently have people commenting about the exercises I am doing in the gym . . . they are impressed and want to use them! When I returned to Body Pump, the instructor also commented on how my strength had increased! Just last year I contacted Tim again. After several injuries (not from working out) and ongoing treatment and physical therapy, I was very frustrated with my body. Tim listened, in detail, as I explained my injuries and the problems/pain I was having trying to workout on my own and participate in classes at the gym. Based on what he heard and saw me doing he created workouts that helped to correct improper techniques I was using (due to injury) and strengthen muscles to help prevent further injury. After working with a physical therapist 3 times a week for many months, I did not see any improvement. After working with Tim 2-3 times a week for just a few weeks, I saw huge improvement! Currently, Tim has once again helped me to reach my highest fitness level yet.

I started working with Mr LaMont so that I could get back on track with exercising, and get back in shape after having my second child. He has been very great at personalizing my workouts, to fit my needs. He is accommodating when it comes time scheduling the workouts, and I appreciate his positive outlook on health and fitness. I can’t say enough good things about Julian! We definitely hit the jackpot with him and in a very short time, he’s become a great trainer, mentor and role model for my 15 year old son who has wanted to increase his strength/stamina while working on his soccer skills. Julian very quickly responded to my search for a personal trainer and was incredibly professional during our introductory call. It was evident that his knowledge of /experience with soccer as a player and coach would be a good match for my son. He also shared his philosophy about strength training with kids, specifically how he seeks to understand what motivates and is important to them, so he could then weave in his expertise which ultimately would result in a truly customized program to help accomplish their goals. He was eager to “meet” my son and scheduled some time to speak with him personally over the phone and get to know him. I was impressed at how he was able to get from a 15-year old boy, what his fitness goals were! In less than a week of my initial inquiry, my son was training in the gym with Julian and has absolutely loved every session with him. Julian maximizes every second during each workout and even encourages kids to come in early to get warmed up (so really, while you pay for a 60-minute session, you get 70-75 minutes!) My son has already noticed physical changes, but beyond that, his sense of confidence, focus, and dedication has increased tremendously. Julian provides encouragement inside and outside the gym by keeping tabs on my son and checking in on how he’s doing. Even when my son tried out for another soccer team, Julian gave him sound advice throughout the process, acted as a sounding board, and alleviated any anxiety he had. The investment you make in Julian goes far beyond strength training; you also get someone who takes a genuine interest in your well-being and wants you to be successful. He empowers you with exercises which don’t require you to be in a gym (my son did his own workouts during the winter break) and with general “life skills/lessons”. To put it succinctly for those that don’t want to read this whole review..... Julian, as my personal trainer, is phenomenal!  He is super knowledgeable, well trained, educated, I would say an expert about training the body to get the results you want. He has a great energy, enthusiasm, and passion for getting you in the best shape you can be!  I can't recommend him highly enough. I chose to work with Julian, personal trainer and owner of Prepare for Performance, cause he listened to what my goals were and his approach to over all strengthening fit with me. I love how he mixes up the workouts always focus on engaging my core in everything we do. I have never really exercised or been into fitness because weight was never an issue, until I hit my mid 40s. Feeling really fatigued, bad posture, headaches, gravity.... Working with Julian is so important to me because able to judge my abilities and push them just the right amount. He plans the workout so that I'm pushing my limits every session. While I whine and complain he gets me through it.  Even with all the technology, YouTube ect...these are not workouts I could do on my own.  Every session is different, challenging, and feels wholly customized so I may reach my goals. Working out with Julian may be my best decision of the year.  My posture is so much improved, I have upper body strength *for the first time in my life*, I am able to do things I would never have done before and feel great (while I am still not thrilled with how I look,there are improvements, I actually will take my shirt off and swim. god, I missed swimming!) Working out is still hard and something I would never do if it were not for Julian. He is fun, engaging, smart, and a “hard a#$” when he needs to be. If you are wanting to feel better about yourself, feel stronger, happier, and joining the gym just does not do it for you...Julian will get you into shape!!

Ive been a member of Tyson Training for several years now. I joined after having my second child and after a few months Joe was able to get me back to my pre baby weight through healthy diet and effective exercises. I learned a great deal about proper form and technique. Tyson Training once again helped me achieve my goals after having my third child. This is the best shape I have probably been in. Tyson Training is all about wellness... both physical and mental. Their approach is unique and sophisticated. They challenge your mental limits by encouraging you to push your physical limits. Working with Trina is always fun. She is very professional, patient and engaging. There is never a dull moment especially in the group sessions. I've been training with Nate several times a week for over 5 years, and I couldn't be more pleased with my progress, fitness level (strength, duration, flexibility), and the ongoing challenge and diversity of workouts -- they're never boring and incorporate strength, stability and core, time under tension, and functional training for every part of my body. In addition, Nate's a nice guy with a great sense of humor, so the workouts are tough but enjoyable. After his initial assessment, he continued to take the time to get know me individually and has a vested interest in my health, well being, strengths, and weaknesses (he enjoys identifying and having me work on my weaknesses!). Nate works hard with each of his clients and he customizes each workout for their individual needs and goals. In the 5+ years I've trained with him, Nate has never been late or missed a workout -- even in snowstorms! When I need to change a training appointment, Nate works very hard to find a time that is mutually beneficial. Finding the right personal trainer that had the proper knowledge, experience, equipment, interpersonal skills, and motivation to align with mine was tough; and I couldn't be happier to have found Nate.
