Excellent!! Highly recommended! My 2 boys have been taking guitar lessons with Dr. Taylor for 2 years, and it has been a great experience. Dr. Taylor relates very well with the kids - he is funny, kind and extremely patient. He puts the kids at ease with a gentle attitude that creates a learning atmosphere of open, honest communication. Dr. Taylor is very perceptive in his evaluation of the struggles and progress each student is experiencing. He takes a keen, personal interest in each student. It has been a pleasure, for both the kids and myself, interacting with Dr. Taylor and I especially appreciate his flexibility, understanding and his easy-going nature. I am very grateful that my boys have him as their instructor.

I am an older adult guitar player that wanted to learn some new skills and learn guitar theory. Steve had instructed my son years back and I knew he was the only one that would listen to my needs and also had a music degree to back up his playing skills. He has a very down to earth approach and is so calm and patient. He never is intimidating which is important to someone like myself that was always told "Girls don't play electric guitar." I recommend Steve all the time when asked if I know a good guitar teacher. There are plenty of guitar teachers but many of them are not trained musicians but off the street guitar players.

My son Noel started learning Piano from Val. He is able to learn Piano quickly because of Val's teaching, even though we don't have any music background. We would highly recommend Val. She is the best Piano Teacher.

Our daughter has taken piano (and briefly, violin) lessons with Ms. Betz for several years now, starting when she was 4 (she is 8 now). We transferred from another music academy that did not seem to know how to teach young children. We couldn't be more pleased with both the process and the results through Ada Piano Academy. Ms. Betz is very patient and an excellent teacher. She tailors her curriculum to the particular learning styles of her students. Ms. Betz adjusts her teaching as the children mature. With our daughter, for example, Ms. Betz knew just the right time to switch from using little stuffed animals to encourage playing and practice to requiring more self-motivation and responsibility. We are very pleased with the amount of music theory that is included with the lessons, as well as musical education about different genres and musicians. She also allows kids to experiment with different instruments. Ms. Betz is always thinking of fun ways to encourage the kids to practice (like fun holiday practice challenges that can earn a prize), and when they struggle, she thinks of different ways to teach the information they need to learn. She is also always available for questions and offers advice when home practice is a difficult. Ms. Betz offers multiple concerts throughout the year in a very relaxed and non-intimidating atmosphere. She makes the concerts a lot of fun for the kids, including raffles and other entertainment to create an environment where the kids are comfortable and do not get overly nervous about performing (just a healthy dose of butterflies). Ms. Betz is very punctual. Lessons start and end exactly on time. She also allows flexibility in scheduling. Our daughter has developed quite the bond with her, and we are so grateful to have another trusted adult in her life!

My name is Phil LaSpina. I have been teaching guitar and voice for the past 27 years now. I teach beginners to advanced students of all ages. The guitar styles I taught are rock, blues, country, jazz, classical, and metal. I teach advanced concepts in speed soloing and arpeggios. I also teach reading music and chord charts. If you are looking for results and easy to understand lessons, I can help you achieve all your goals.

About

I teach highly personalized drum/percussion, bass and guitar lessons out of my home studio. I have a B.A. in Music from Trevecca Nazarene University, with a concentration in drums and percussion. I have over 15 years of musical performance experience in Nashville, TN and the Greater Michigan area. To me, it is absolutely crucial to create an open, accepting and fun environment for teaching lessons. I personalize every lesson to the learning style and personality of the student. Having taken lessons for 10 years myself, I've learned that investing in a fun and positive environment is imperative in helping motivate the students to accomplish their goals!

About

I believe that every lesson should be fun and comfortable! Depending on the students age and skill level, I pick out books that work for each student, and also ask the student to bring in a piece that they want to work on. Maybe we can learn that new radio hit or the oldie but a goodie that you've been wanting to learn for years! However, learning from books or internet videos alone do not offer the kind of one on one attention students need while learning an instrument.

About

Do you want to get on stage and show the world what you've got? I can help with all of this and more! Music can enrich your life and is also just a lot of fun.
