We found the service professional, Jeremy, HVAC Maintenance Solutions, to be courteous and knowledgeable. Jeremy diagnosed the problem with our oven within minutes and performed the work within an hour. The price of the oven repair was reasonable and the troubleshooting advice invaluable. HVAC Maintenance Solutions will be the first company we call for our home repair needs.

Installation of Double oven and removal of the old double oven. Steve responded quickly and came out same day. Had to enlarge opening by 1/4 inch requiring pulling it back out and required moving the refrigerator. Steve did this without comment. Proper installation and wiring. Would refer Steve to anyone.

Holy cow! Murat came and cleaned my house today from 7:30 AM to 6 PM. He spent over 5 hours in the kitchen alone...pulling out the refrigerator to clean underneath, cleaned inside the fridge and oven (no other cleaners do those things!)...even took the time to scrape burn marks off of our floor and offered to paint where there were knicks at no extra charge! He uses a steamer on the floors and to clean lots of other things so you know you're getting an actual cleaning...not just a wipe down. He was kind and really took pride in his work. The only slightly negative thing I would say is that he might have exhausted himself with the kitchen, because the rest of the house fell slightly shorter on the details, but I was still very, very pleased. I'm hiring Murat to clean for me each month and have already referred him to two other people. Fantastic!

Very pleasant couple. They did a great job cleaning our 21/2 bathrooms and my oven. They left some wire bristles from a brush in the pull out draw under the oven. They must of fallen while cleaning the oven. They did exactly what they were hired for. I'm sure I will hire again!

I hired LA Bella House Cleaning to performed a deep clean. They were here for 2 hours. I asked if they would clean the inside of the oven and they said that was not included, but after taking a look inside they said that wouldn't be a problem at all. They did quick work, but at the same time were very thorough. I don't mind doing the everyday cleaning, but really don't like doing the detailed cleaning. Would definitely hire them again to do the dirty work. Thanks ladies!

Finally found someone I can trust to do a good job! The house was so clean! When she says "I won't let you down", she means it! My husband even said she was amazing and he has never said that about my past house cleaning specialist! What a big burden lifted off my shoulders! She was on her hsnds and knees doing the baseboard and wiping down doors! I would refer her to anyone! Trust me, you need someone to do a good job and follow directions(because there is no one out there who can) then you need Fran!

We hired Debbie to do a deep cleaning on our townhouse that had never been really cleaned since before we moved in. She and one of her employees came over for an estimate with a half hour notice and we agreed that she would perform the work the next day. When we got home after they had cleaned, we were impressed with the quality of work that had been done. The carpets looked really great and there were spots where drinks had spilled/pet accidents and you couldn't even tell there had been carpet spots there to begin with. They even reattached where a ceiling fan light had come loose and wasn't included with the original estimate.

We were looking for a move-out cleaning, and the work most services offered would have left us cleaning windows, walls, the oven, and the fridge after they were done. The Clean Witch provided all of these services complete with eco-friendly cleaning solutions! Trish has superior attention to detail and left our house looking better than it ever had before!

I was needing a fan motor installed. Allen's Service was able to diagnose the problem and give me option. After going over all the options we had a 22yr old furnace and it didn't make sense to put money into it when it was already past it's life expectancy. I learn the old furnace cost me more to run also. Thank you Allen's Service you were on time, knowledgeable, polite, great service, great price, and you cleaned everything up !!! You guys are great!!! I will definitely use you again.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do you pay for house cleaning?

Hiring a professional house cleaning service is a helpful way to have a healthy home even when your work and personal schedule is packed. House cleaning prices vary based on how many square feet your home is, how dirty your house gets, and how often the cleaning service comes. Some companies charge a set amount — such as 5 cents — per square foot, with a minimum amount, such as $100. The national average cost for house cleaning ranges between $110 and $150. Prices can be lower in areas with a lower cost of living, higher in big cities or affluent regions. You may save money by increasing the frequency of your house cleaning visits. Often a company will charge you less per cleaning when you schedule more cleanings per month. The cost advantage rewards your loyalty, and also reflects the fact that more frequent cleanings make it easier to maintain a high level of cleanliness in your home. A housecleaning service may charge more for the first visit or for one-time services than for recurring cleanings.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
  • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
  • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How much does it cost to deep clean a house?

Deep cleaning a house goes beyond the surface level to clear out the dust, grime and gunk that’s collecting on the fan blades, hiding in the blinds, and built up inside the refrigerator drawers. Deep cleaning of a home or apartment costs more than regular house cleaning because it takes more time, effort, and cleaning products. You may choose to have a deep cleaning once or several times a year in addition to your standard cleaning services. You may have a one-time deep cleaning to prepare for company or to clean after a house party. Companies may charge an hourly rate or a price per square foot, or may offer you a flat rate after they have visited your home and estimated work time. The national average house cleaning price is $110-$150, with rates ranging higher for deep-cleaning services. Here are some examples of how a company may calculate their deep-cleaning prices:

  • 10 cents per square foot (compared with 5 cents per square foot for standard house cleaning).
  • $300 for a 3,000-square-foot home.
  • $25 per hour per worker for deep-cleaning services.

How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.

How much does a move-out cleaning cost?

Moving is hard enough work even before you have to clean the empty home to perfection. Instead of scrubbing your tile grout with a toothbrush, hire a professional cleaning company to provide move-out cleaning services for you. For moving out of an apartment, cleaning prices can range from $110 to $150. When scheduling a move-out cleaning, talk with the pro and confirm all the key points they will clean to ensure you receive your deposit back.

Important areas to have cleaned include the fridge interior, the oven interior, bathroom tile, the shower and tub, all blinds, and sometimes the walls. Some cleaning companies do not quote a flat rate for a move-out cleaning, as the number of hours it may take to clean structurally identical apartments could vary greatly depending on how clean or dirty the inhabitants were. For example, move-out house cleaning prices may range from $150 to $180 for one- or two-bedroom apartments.
