I have been hired through Thumbtack 61 times. Sixty one clients trusted me with their dogs. When choosing a dog trainer, please look not only at their reviews, especially verified ones, but also their hiring history. It will speak for itself. I believe that every dog deserves a chance, and every owner deserves a great dog. I no longer use shock collars or choke chains as my tools. The issue with shock collars is that not only they can be unnecessarily harsh but, more importantly, once they come off the dog usually becomes non-compliant. I am a positive but not a permissive trainer, and I do believe in having rules, but I prefer following through without unnecessary coercion. My other services include, but are not limited to: * Behavior modification for a multitude of undesired behaviors : aggression or reactivity, anxiety or fear, jumping, barking, separation anxiety, and more. * Nosework classes * AKC obedience, Rally, Conformation, and Canine Good Citizen (CGC). I have a proven program that focuses heavily on impulse control (teaching the dog patience). In my experience, these are the critical skills every dog should know: 1. Impulse-control (self-control) around food or toys in your hands (no biting, no jumping) 2. Understanding mine/yours, especially with items on the ground 3. Come when called (a safety skill we should practice with our dogs throughout their lives) 4. Walk on a loose leash (I recommend Freedom No-Pull harness) and pay attention to you 5. Go to place (mat or dog bed) and settle.

I am so happy I went with Leashlife as my dog walker. My dog loves getting the extra attention and I never have to worry about him while I am at work. They leave notes and give updates on a regular basis, I would recommend them to anyone. I also love seeing their Instagram post of their other dogs they are all adorable and happy!

Angie with Furever Home Training was and still is my very first choice and recommendation for dog training and behavior. She is so incredibly experienced and knowledgable, and her classes are so fun! I took my aussie mix puppy, Banjo, through her puppy class and Canine Good Citizenship class. Both were invaluable parts of Banjo's growth, socialization, and training. We live in Indiana now but I STILL trust Angie with my training questions from time to time. With Banjo still in those tricky teenage pup months, I only wish we were still close by! Anyone considering dog training needs to check Furever Home Training out. Be it in group classes or private sessions, Angie is patient, so awesome at her job, and it doesn't hurt that she is super affordable too. Banjo and I miss you Angie! Lots of woofs and love from Indy!

Heidi has trained our dog as a puppy (puppy training) and as an adolescent. What impressed me most was Heidi's ability to quickly observe and assess the training needs of my dog. Heidi is patient and an effective communicator which made it comfortable for both the dog and I to learn from her and for us to retain the training so that we could reinforce the training at home, which is very important! I also appreciate that Heidi is readily available for any follow up questions or issues. Also, Blue Line Kennel is the only place we board our dog. Blue Line is safe, clean and the dogs are very well taken care of. Our dog loves to visit Blue Line and gets excited and eager the second we turn into Bigham Rd.

Heather took care of my 2 precious dogs - a havanese and bichon frise for the weekend while I went on vacation. She came in every morning and evening and they also wear doggie panties, that at times need to be changed. The dogs love her ! I have 3 betta fish that she also fed while I was away. I like the way Heather leaves messages on how the dogs are doing so I don't have to worry leaving my babies behind. She is reliable and trustworthy - I'd recommend her to anyone !

I was a client of John Smithhart and K9 Good Manners during the time that I had a Belgian Malinois. His support and expertise was priceless during some very rough and discouraging times! My dog did go to him for obedience training and even months after I brought her home, he was always available and understanding whenever I had questions or concerns. My dog came home wonderfully trained but her vibrant, fun personality was still intact. I loved that his program just made her a more disciplined, focused and obedient version of herself. I would recommend his services to absolutely anyone! He's an honest and dependable person that provides an irreplaceable service to dedicated dog owners.

Stacy is quick to respond when I contact her. She follows up with the owner for the dog training in a timely manner. She is great with the dogs and very experienced. She is a dog owner herself and understands dogs and uses only positive reinforcement in her techniques. She is also rescue friendly and works with our rescue and foster dogs which says a lot about her character! She is about helping dogs, not the almighty dollar. I also give her name to many of our previous adopters who are looking for an experienced trainer.
