Ashley Boyan did our Wedding Pictures. Our wedding was in Carlisle Pa. She was there on time and did really good pictures. She was very friendly and everyone liked her. She also did our Engagement pictures. She incorporated our daughter in to some of the pictures that we took in our Engagement session. We loved her and would get her to do any other pictures we would want done.

I had the best experience with Kingdom Entertainment!!! They did a slide show for my wedding and they did a video of the entire wedding and reception. The work and products both were phenomenal and we are so pleased!!! They were able to capture all our special moments, they interviewed our guests, they live-streamed our wedding so my husband's family could see the wedding live in Ghana, and they created a finished product that we will forever treasure. The package we chose was well-worth the money and I am so pleased with all we received for the money we spent. It was very reasonably priced and I am so glad that we chose Kingdom Entertainment as our videographers!!! I highly recommend them to anyone and I will definitely use them again in the future!!! If I could give ten plus stars, I would!!! Great job!!!!

We hired Daniel for videography for my sister's wedding. He did an outstanding job and went above and beyond his required work to make sure he captured all the big moments of the day right to the very end of the night. The video quality was very professional and the highlight video was great as well. I would definitely hire Daniel again and recommend him to friends in need of a videographer.

Nathan was great. He did very specific, professional videography work (mic'ing and recording an elementary classroom from two angles), on very short notice (1 day), at a very reasonable price. Would definitely work with him again on any videography project.

We used Hollow Township Entertainment for videography services for our October 1 st wedding. HTE was absolutely outstanding. My husband and I were beyond impressed by the services we received. HTE was extremely professional and they went above and beyond what I expected. I am so pleased that I selected HTE as one of my vendors for my special day. The morning after our wedding, my husband and I talked about what an awesome job HTE did. We will definitely recommend them and we will hire them for future events.

Excellent Videographer! We had a Indian Wedding ceremony, followed by a reception. Both events were videotaped by Scott, and I don't think it would have been any better. Scott is very professional and knows what he's doing. He was at the venues well before the events started and did a very good job. We will definitely keep you in mind for our future events in Charlotte area. Thank you again for your wonderful services and videographing our wedding, we really appreciate all you did.

Our recent wedding experience with Artisan Video Productions was great! From the planning stages of the wedding to the actual wedding day, we were very pleased with the professionalism and "easy to work with" attitude. Bob & Allie went above & beyond to capture every moment of our special day. They were very conscientious and sought out any special requests or needs that we might have. They were well equipped and prepared for our wedding & reception settings. If you are considering the drone option, you should definitely sign on!!! This added a whole new dimension to our video. We will treasure the wedding memories for many years to come - thanks to Artisan Video Productions! ~Susan Westbrook (mother of groom)

Jeremy was the videographer for my wedding in November of 2014. He captured every moment of our wedding, starting from rehearsal dinner, getting ready the day of, arrival at the venue, ceremony, and reception. Weddings can be expensive, but having videos moment, like Jeremy captures them, is something I will never regret. I definitely recommend Jeremy!

Merely Telegenic provided a wedding video for my husband and I that we will treasure for a lifetime. It is honestly a work of art. The most perfect combination of the most meaningful, fun, and beautiful parts of our day. When planning a wedding, if you are able, it is worth every penny to have a videographer in your budget. You will not regret having your memories set to beautiful music and images that will make the day come alive all over again. Josh & Brad hung out with us the whole day, and were honestly unnoticeable in a lot of ways yet were able to catch EVERY THING on video. Their work with the drone added a pretty awesome touch as well, and their attention to detail was phenomenal. I am so so thankful for Merely Telegenic!

Ronald was the videographer at my wedding and I couldn’t be happier with his service! He is super friendly, easy to talk to, and very professional in how he handles himself. He was attentive to every event at the wedding; the before, the during, and the after. My wife and I truly enjoyed ourselves on this day among our family and friends and Ronald captured every major detail beautifully. We were amazed at the quality and professionalism our wedding video showed. He went beyond our expectations and now we have a cinema-like video of our very special day to watch and reminisce of the day we became one.

      About

Wedding Videographers Having your wedding on video is becoming as important as having photographs. Video captures the essence of the day, and you can relive the whole day when you watch your DVD. We take the utmost care and film every aspect of this most memorable day. We carefully edit the footage and give you as much of it as possible. It's your day. Don't settle for a few minutes of a short film of your most memorable day. You will get a lot for your money, and we want you to be able to watch your video and "feel" like you are there once more. Most wedding coverage requires two discs, which are approximately 3-4 hours of your day. The size of your wedding party and the length of the ceremony and reception influence the amount of disc space used. You will receive your DVD in a custom case with photos from the day. We think brides and grooms have enough to decide upon without looking through pages and pages of options. You don't have to choose; see our website for full details of our coverage. We have heard time and time again from bridal couples, "We like our wedding photos, but we love our video." Please find us on Facebook, or check out our website to see video samples. We also invite you to visit Wedding Wire, and read our reviews. You may be able to find other vendor services as well.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

      • Package 1: $1,400
        • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
        • Two cameras with audio equipment.
        • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
        • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
      • Package 2: $1,800
        • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
