Harry White is not your average trainer. He isn't someone who just stands above you and counts reps as you lie there soaking up the floor with your sweat. Harry always makes sure my form is spot on so I don't hurt myself while weight training. I found this very important for the days I was training on my own. Speaking of being on your own the training with Harry doesn't end when you leave the gym. He personally sends you a meal plan with nutrition information to help get you to progress in the kitchen. If you want someone who will educate you in the world of fitness and put you on a fast course towards your goals then Harry White is someone you should contact. I highly recommend him!

I must say that training with Vinson was the most amazing experience. He showed me for the first time what weights are about and the great results you get while training. I lost 20 pounds in 1 month of training. He gave me a nutrition plan to follow, which it was easy and yummy. His training was hard but fun. He kept me motivated and looking forward every single session we had. Thank you Very much Vinson Smith for your knowledge, experience, time and hard work I got. I am in love with weights training and I owe that to You. God bless you !

I have had a great experience working with Alan. He really took time to listen and ynderstand my fitness goals and then put together a customized plan for me to follow. I can say after 6 weeks workin with Alan has already yielded better results then when I was working out on my own for over a year. Highly recommend giving Alan a call!

My experience training with Samantha has been nothing short of awesome! I was completely clueless about how to get started with weights and resistance training and she has been a great (and patient) teacher! The benefits have been obvious and I have noticed that I feel much stronger and look more toned. She also offers nutrition coaching and helps me identify areas where I am holding myself back. All in all, she is awesome!

      About

The services for each individual is so different because everyone varies with so many diseases/problems. Everyone must figure out what diet works for them, what supplements their need, what exercise to start off with and gradually work up, up, up. I don't believe in taking diet pills, because they can destroy your liver or kidneys or even heart. Done deal! We are getting healthy. We will get healthy with protein; nutrients; exploratory, fun diet; vitamins; minerals; exercise and a diary. Yes, once you start a diary, you will continue it forever (just ask country singer Carrie Underwood). The services you receive will hopefully fit your needs. I will know more of a plan after your consultation visit, and there may be constant changes at first, but it works out! I look forward to working with you.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
