Chuck DiZ did an awesome job! He showed up early so we could go over everything and also was very well prepared and accommodating to last minute changes. We are so happy to have had him play violin as well as guitar at our wedding and recommend his talent and professionalism to all. Thank you Chuck!!

We have had a great experience with John. Our 9 year old looks forward to his weekly guitar lessons and is anxious to come home from school each day to practice and build on what he has learned. John is kind, patient, knowledgeable, thorough and professional. We are very happy

Chris has been giving my son private guitar lessons for about 6 months. My son really enjoys Chris's approach to teaching by blending theory and performance based skills. Since Chris is a performer as well as an instructor, he brings a well-rounded method to his teaching, expands on his student's experience and challenges the student with interesting exercises. What I like most is that Chris really emphasizes the creativity and feelings that music can generate. My son has gained a great teacher and friend.

I have been taking guitar lessons with Jeff for 10 months. He is an outstanding instructor. He adapts his lessons to my capabilities, is encouraging but also challenges me to go the extra mile. He is extremely patient, when one approach doesn't work, he finds others to keep me engaged and feeling successful. I highly recommend Jeff! You won't be disappointed!

John Doll has been my friend and colleague for over two years. He is a very talented guitarist in many genres, e.g. classical, rock, blues, etc. He is also an excellent teacher. I observed him in graduate school when he taught group guitar classes to non music majors. Any child or adult would be lucky to have John as their instructor for guitar.

Charlie was great! I was a true beginner to guitar - had never really picked one up to play. Charlie covered the absolute basics to get me comfortable with my guitar and actually playing understanding notes in my first lesson. I would highly recommend him for an adult beginner!

“I started taking Bob Wingate’s class at Rufty Holmes Center because the name of the class was “Absolute Beginners”; and that’s what I was. I wanted very basic training – learning simple chords. I accomplished that and more. My intention has never been to play for the public but to play for myself and for or with close friends. I love playing songs that I’m familiar with and singing along – still just playing basic chords and loving it. For those that want to learn more and go further into “guitarism”, Bob offers classes for those as well. Thank you, Bob, for encouraging and helping me to learn exactly what I wanted to learn.” --Sandi Lauzon

It is a pleasure to write this review on behalf of my colleague, Robert Bussey. For six years, Robert was a Guitar Instructor at my music school, Charlotte Academy of Music. I was continually impressed by Robert's high level of organization and communication, and most importantly, the dedication he showed as a teacher. Highly experienced in many genres of music, Robert taught many students of all ages with various goals and interests. He showed the students a great deal of respect in regards to their own musical goals, while maintaining a good balance of teaching solid technique and theory. I am very excited at the possibility of Robert offering ensemble classes at Charlotte Academy of Music, hopefully in the near future! I cannot say enough good things about Robert Bussey, both as a teacher and as a person. The Stuff of Legends School of Guitar is highly recommended!

Shane has the been a musician since age 10. Not only does he know his product, he has the ability to communicate his knowledge in ways beginners can understand. "Lights go on" when working with him. It will be my own fault if I am unable to play the guitar studying under Shane Key.

As a child I used to sing but stopped when my voice changed. I had no music training in over 25 years so I was very much a beginner. Her studio is clean, comfortable and well light with a big window. Our first lesson she listened to my goals and we talked about the types of music I would enjoy singing. Kristin and her teaching methods are very reassuring. When my progression has become stuck she often has fun games or exercises to work through it. We've done this for mental blocks and learning what throat/tongue/breathing muscle placement. We've discovered my range & worked through a increasingly challenging set of songs to exploit it in the year I've been a student. As an adult male student I would very much recommend lessons from Kristin. She's very knowledgeable, patient and fun to learn from.

We LOVE School Of Rock~ Charlotte. Our daughter was proficient in playing her instruments (lead guitar and bass) when she became a student at #RockHaus; however, wanted to branch out in the styles of music she preformed, as well as enhance her stage persona. WOW, did she ever!! She has gone from feeling uncomfortable moving on stage to looking as if she has been on stage for years. She has stepped out of her comfort zone, trying keyboards, drums and really astounding us by singing vocals...she had never sang alone in public in her life! This is all thanks to the encouragement and support of the truly gifted musicians who teach at the BEST ROCK SCHOOL in the region. There is always a smile, a friendly face and support as the fabulous staff meet the students where they are...from the tiniest beginner student, through adults, everyone is treated with respect, excitement and joy. Jill Livick, SOR General Manger, is genius at running the school. To see her interact with parents on such a professional, yet personal level lets you know that each student matters. She loves what she does and it shows. For Jill, it isn't about the bottom line, it is about giving the students a voice and then seeing where it leads. I absolutely recommend School of Rock for anyone who is ready to learn to play an instrument, sing, perform, make friends with other musicians and gain confidence. You will find lessons, workshops, performance opportunities, incredible shows and working, caring musicians as instructors...I couldn't ask for anything more.

He has taught me how to play numerous songs, and is extremely well at teaching the correct way to play a song as well as breaking it down to were it is easy to understand. I would definitely recommend him to any beginner or even an intermediate player wanting to sharpen or fine tune their guitar skills.
