I was in a crunch. I'm 73 expecting my first inhouse guest in over a year in a few days and my guest toilet broke. I located a plumbing company that promised next day service but then they canceled that offer the next day and couldn't come until the day after my guest. I immediately contacted PlumbServe and they fitted me into their busy schedule for the next day. The repairman was prompt, friendly and very informative and mostly patient with an old lady explaining everything to me. Besides the toilet he also fixed my bathtub knob that has been falling off for 2 years due to missing screw, looked over my plumbing under my kitchen sink and eased my mind. I would definitely encourage using this company to everyone.

Such a shame when dishonesty and sneaky behavior overshadows the work. Hired to replace a toilet and told it would be $175. I did my due diligence and asked what forms of payment were accepted and I was told “everything”.
When they arrived they offered $100 of additional services that we were happy to accept as we did need the additional work completed- they were happy to accept as this increased the profit they’d make for their visit.
During the close of transaction a $25 trip fee was added to the total. I asked why this wasn’t in the original quote and also not listed on the company’s Thumbtack page. She fumbled over herself to explain and rather than embarrass her and restate her ridiculous reasoning she quickly decided that it was unfair and that she would remove the charge.
I then asked to pay by Zelle and learned that they in fact DO NOT accept “everything” and if I wanted to pay by card there would be a 3.5% processing fee.
This company is dishonest and the owners are sneaky. Its normal to have taxes added on to a job but it’s not okay to hide additional fees until the very end and try to get away with it.
I would bet this dishonesty comes up in other facets of their business. Would not recommend.
I can see now from reading reviews that they’ve manipulated other customers in regards to costs and still choose to operate this way. Multiple reviews over years state this as an issue and they still choose not to include this information on their page. This is intentional. Thumbtack offers a section specifically for consult/trip fees. I have worked with other small businesses on Thumbtack that utilize this feature.
Send them home if you already have them booked. How’s that for a trip fee.
It’s not enough to be a small business. Strive to be a small HONEST business.
