Quick response and great service. My toiletrepair and cabinet repair was done the same day at a great price. I will definitely use this company again.

I chose Make It Drain in large part based on their high rating from other customers, and I very much wanted this rating to be different. Unfortunately, there are just too many ways in which the service they rendered fell far short of customer-oriented for me to overlook, or chalk them up to something circumstantial.
And this is a rental property for which I have a home warranty and I wanted to test another way to get a repair done. Since I’d previously sourced service providers on Thumbtack at my own home, I thought this might be a good test to see if this could be better in some way. My regret is to put my good tenants through this bad experience.
On the front-end, Make It Drain was super-communicative and they made it easy to schedule and coordinate, so I’ll give them props for that. It’s when they showed up that things went awry.
First, they showed up both times they came without masks on, and they never asked about using masks. That made my tenant uncomfortable and angry. As far as I am concerned, the onus is on the service provider (and not the customer) to ask about mask usage. Mask usage also happens to be in Thumbtack’s guidelines - https://www.thumbtack.com/covid-information/.
Second, they recommended that a toilet replacement was the course of action (and I agreed to) and we scheduled a return trip for installation on the spot. For the installation, they arrived hours late for the second appointment without calling ahead to warn or even ask about the delay.
Third, when they arrived with the replacement toilet, they dragged the box across the floor to the bathroom where it was being installed rather than picking it up to carry it there. They did this right in front of my tenant, which also tells me that they don’t see anything wrong with dragging a heavy box across the floor of a customer’s home. Again – it should not be upon the customer to even have to ask the service provider to not drag a box across their floor.
Finally, any plumbing work involves water leakage on the floor. It’s understandable. What’s not understandable is to use somebody’s towels hanging in the bathroom (without asking) to sop up the toilet water on the floor and then to cast them into the shower stall without telling the people living there. Unfortunately, this was a discovery my tenant made hours later when he went to take a shower and found the heap of wet towels piled in the shower stall that Make It Drain used instead of their own towels and/or asking if there were towels they could/should be using as an alternative.
As for the quality of their work? So far, the toilet is not leaking and it appears to be operating as expected. That’s the reason this rating is one star and not zero. And I could forgive any service provider one or two of any of these issues as something circumstantial (except maybe using my towels for sopping up toilet water without asking), but all of them together? These issues all tell me that Make It Drain needs a level-set about where the customer needs to on the radar screen for their service business and I hope this rating may serve as that wake-up call.
