About

I have been teaching for over 10 years. I teach privately full-time and run my own company. I personally hire other enthusiastic and experienced music teachers to work with me. I believe learning music should be fun. While it also takes hard work and dedication, a student must first enjoy music in order to continue and progress. My teachers and I incorporate well-known songs into lessons so that students can relate to what they are learning. We also use many of our own games and worksheets to keep students engaged at all times. We offer many different types of lessons including singing, piano, acting, guitar, songwriting, and much more. We also offer two (optional) recitals each year so that students can showcase what they have learned. I love watching students of all ages progress and accomplish things they never thought they could accomplish. This helps them to grow not only as a musician, but also as a person. I have watched all of our students become more confident as their lessons progress. It's exciting because music education is so much more than just teaching students notes on a page.

About

I am a New York based pianist and piano teacher. I also give instruction in music history and music theory. Like many people, I began playing the piano at a young age and soon fell in love with the instrument. This led me to pursue a degree in piano performance and since then, I have had an active career in performing, writing musicological articles and providing musical instruction to students of all ages. As a teacher, I learn as much from my students as they do from me. The most important thing to me is that my students enjoy the process of learning, and I do this through taking the time to understand and appreciate each student's unique personality and skill set. Every student has the potential to be great at what they do-all they need is motivation, hard work, and a passion for learning. My job is to provide the student with the tools to succeed and enjoy music!

About

I offer classical piano lessons in Queens, for all levels and ages. I am a French piano teacher with more than 30 years of experience. I have been a concert pianist and teacher for 30 years in conservatory in France. I am also a former Music Chamber teacher in "Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris/Alfred Cortot" (that is the equivalent of Julliard School of Arts in NY for Paris). I am available too as an accompanist for singers and choirs (Chef de Chant) and for concerts as a soloist or in chamber music.

About

I have been teaching for over ten years now, and I've taught a wide variety of ages and experience levels: 5 year olds just learning the basics of the violin to 65 year olds picking up their instrument after a long hiatus. One of the joys and challenges of teaching music is that I can cater my teaching style to the student's learning style. That means incorporating other media (drawing, acting, etc.) for young kids, or concentrating hard on complicated/nuanced aspects of technique for more advanced players. I also include ear-training and aural skills in my lessons because I believe students should be not just players of their instrument, but also well-rounded musicians and educated consumers of music in our culture. The different people one meets. And the satisfaction of hearing progress in the student's playing.

About

Teach 2 Teach is a unique company that provides high-quality music lessons structured around the students' goals - not designed with an agenda or strict curriculum in mind. Teachers identify the student's purpose in taking lessons and plan each lesson with that purpose in mind, taking into account the styles and genres of music their students are interested in. Each teacher is motivated to cultivate a love of music in their students, and it really shows through the fun, encouraging lessons they hold together. We believe that true mastery is displayed when students can "teach back" to the teacher key concepts they have learned. Throughout a lesson, a teacher may ask the student to demonstrate the musical technique that was just taught to them, and explain it as if the teacher were the student. This helps build confidence and true understanding in our students. If desired, students can even graduate from the T2T program to become teachers themselves! We are on the forefront of the internet music lessons movement, implementing both webcam lessons and online video courses. We also hold regular recitals, both live on stage and digitally through video recitals. The most enjoyable thing about working at Teach 2 Teach is seeing the progress our students make. Understanding concepts of scales, chords, rhythm, and notation is not an easy feat, but our teachers make learning fun, interesting, and achievable. We can see the difference week-to-week in our students' abilities, and that is very rewarding to us and our teachers. We have regular recitals both live on stage and through online videos, and we love to see our students' progress, and have them show it off for their friends and families!

About

I offer trumpet lessons (all levels) and piano lessons (from beginner to intermediate) in your home. My piano students have at least one recital per year in which my trumpet students may participate as well. I have a unique way to start beginning piano students, which combines the best of traditional music notation with Suzuki instruction and ideas from the "Music Tree" method. Music reading fluency is a priority as well as proper technique and repertoire. Younger students use Montessori type instruction to obtain a solid foundation in note reading. On the trumpet, I specialize in NYSSMA instruction, classical repertoire and technique, jazz improvisation study, and excellence in music reading. I help students to perform their very best with school ensembles. Above all, my students enjoy playing their instruments and smile a lot during the lessons. I especially love teaching beginners on both instruments and find that aspect of my job to be very rewarding and enjoyable. The way that the brain processes music reading and performing is a special interest of mine, and I have consequently had success with students who haven't thrived with other teachers, including students with learning/processing differences. My students are consistently successful at NYSSMA and are often chosen to participate in area all-state, all-county, and all-state organizations. Some have gone on to be music majors at schools, such as the University of Massachusetts and SUNY-Buffalo. I have many local references and testimonials by band directors. I teach primarily in the following areas: Briarcliff Manor, Ossining, Millwood, Chappaqua, Armonk, Somers, Mt. Kisco, Irvington, and Ardsley, but will consider other areas if you can schedule your lessons at the beginning or end of my day or if you have more than one student. Please visit my piano and trumpet blogs at my website.
