This is the place you want to go if you want to learn anything related to voice and vocal performance. Since the lessons are 1 on 1, the experience is highly personalized and tailored to suit your specific needs as a student. Patrick is the main instructor and does a phenomenal job of explaining concepts and developing them into reality. You will find yourself with a voice you didn't know you had after just a few lessons and practice. Each lesson focuses on vocal exercises and specific songs to work on, but you can work on specific points of difficulties as well, as said before each experience is personalized. Jon Price is another instructor which also does an outstanding job as a teacher and vocalist. Both instructors are extremely helpful. The program is organized, with specific goals and objectives being set so your progress can be kept track of. These are all kept on a USB stick along with any other media materials a student may need such a songs, recordings of each lessons, exercises, and more. They also offer Saturday bootcamps for free, which are group voice lessons that focus on other subjects that can greatly benefit your learning progress. Another amazing part of it is that they offer open mic parties on select Saturdays, where a large group of people come together and listen to each other perform a song that they have put a lot of work into. After going to several myself, it really impresses me and others alike to see people come again and again and be able to really hear the positive progress they have made. And the best feeling is probably when everyone claps for you afterwards, acknowledging not juts your performance but the work you put in to achieve it. Afterwards, it becomes a social event and overall really becomes a night to look forward to and look back upon to remember. If anyone is looking to vocally train, go here and the only problem you're going to have is that you didn't go earlier!
I've been taking voice lessons with Dave for almost a year now, and it's one of the best decisions I've made. I've loved singing my entire life, but I've always felt like I wasn't good enough. It turns out I just needed to tweak my technique. I've definitely improved immensely over the past year, and others (including professional singers) have noticed and complimented me on it as well when I've sang at gigs. I've learned effective warm up techniques, how to control my voice, how my posture and mouth placement are important for my vocals as well, and so much more. He's also very encouraging and patient. I definitely wouldn't sound the way I do today without him. He's given me the confidence to look into performing more in this new year. I'm more motivated than ever to see where my voice can take me and very excited to continue working with him. I was also lucky enough to record a song with him and was able to see what an amazing producer he is as well! Anyone looking for a great, knowledgeable, experienced vocal instructor and producer; look no further! Dave's your man!
I took voice lessons ages ago and have been thinking about picking them up again. After doing some research I decided to go with David. I am so glad I did. He is professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He has a very great teaching style and he obviously knows what he's talking about. I'm very pleased with my experience so far and will recommend him to anyone that wants to improve any part of their singing.
When I was fifteen years old my father passed away after an extended battle with stomach cancer. After this I began writing words that people told me were lyrics, but I was no singer. I had a hero that was a singer, a heavy metal singer named Rob Halford, but the crazy notes he hit, and the incredible way he used his voice seemed unattainable to me. As I went through H.S. aided by my friends, a friend of mine named Elsa was taking voice lessons with a teacher in our town of Caldwell, and since she saw me in Choir, and knew of my love of music, suggested her teacher to me. I have been a heavy metal singer for 27 years now, and though I am not a famous person by any stretch of the imagination, nor do I sing in any way similar to Mr. Halford, I owe my longevity, my knowledge, and the respect of my peers to Rae De La Cretaz. Rae did not just teach me how to sing, she taught me how to connect my voice to myself, and considering the emotion that was collected inside me, once I learned how to do that, I was able to realize things about myself I never thought were possible. When I found her again through her online presence some 25 years later and I all the way across the country the only thing I could think to say was thank you. If you're looking for a voice teacher, she is the best, but if your looking for a way to connect your voice to your person, and who you are as a human being, if you look any further you are making a grave mistake. Mara has been giving voice lessons to my 10 yr old daughter for several months and she is amazing. She makes every lesson fun and engaging. Mara is well trained, a great teacher and an overall awesome woman. We could not recommend her more highly.
I had an absolutely fantastic lesson with Pamela today, and I am so glad to be able to work with her! I'm a very out of practice singer (I haven't sung anything in about a decade) and I wanted to begin lessons again to get my voice back in shape. Pamela gave me an excellent variety of vocal exercises to begin with, and I went from feeling very discouraged to very excited to be singing again. She was pleasant and encouraging, along with being extremely knowledgeable. I very much look forward to our future lessons, and I highly recommend her, especially for someone like me who has newly returned to, or new to singing.
Michelle is an amazing & wonderful teacher! She is animated and engaging and very knowledgable. My eight year old daughter takes piano as well as voice lessons from Michelle, and she really looks forward to their meetings every week! I highly recommend Michelle!!
Barbara has been giving voice lessons to my daughter for over a year. She is a skilled vocal teacher and has a wonderful temperament for working with kids. She's gone the extra mile to make sure my child felt confident and prepared for performances. My daughter has grown and improved in her vocal ability, and Barbara has been a wonderful teacher all around.
Christine is a truly phenomenal teacher. If you have any hesitations about starting voice lessons because you are afraid of singing in front of other people, have no fear! Christine made me feel completely comfortable from the very first minute of our first lesson together. She is classically trained and extremely knowledgable about singing. I would recommend beginning lessons with her to get a solid technical foundation even if you eventually want to sing pop or R&B (i.e. she is not just for classical/opera singers!) That being said, I've met several of her other students and heard them sing and some are very serious students of the craft; she is an excellent teacher for experienced singers as well. During lessons, she plays her (baby?) grand piano in a large private area of her home. The walls in the singing area are filled with books of sheet music, but she also happily found specific songs online for me to work on when she didn't have the music already. She has an incredible ear- she truly listens to you and can pinpoint and explain to you exactly what to change (your posture or breathing, enunciation etc.) to instantly improve your tone and pitch. Improving your voice is a long process, and there are no magical tricks (except practice practice practice!). But with Christine as your guide, you will see improvement and most importantly, you will gain confidence. She truly believes in her students, which helps them believe in themselves too.
Ive been studying voice with Dan for about eight years. Ive always been wary about who I would trust my voice with; Ive only ever had two voice teachers. When my first voice teacher moved away, I went for ten years without working with anyone. But after a decade of singing in gigs, rehearsals, and recording sessions, I became really worried that Id seriously hurt my voice. I was having problems hitting notes that used to be easy for me, and my voice was feeling strained and tired a lot of the time. I was terrified that I had done my voice permanent damage. I found Dans website online, and his demeanor really struck me. He not only gave the impression of being knowledgable and professional; he seemed like someone who really, genuinely cared about the singers he worked with. I felt like I might be in good hands with him. Within five minutes into my first lesson, he put me completely at ease. Not only was he kind, easygoing, and funny, which made me feel very comfortable, he told me that I hadnt seriously damaged my voice! He said I should be checked by a doctor to make sure, but that from what he was hearing in the evaluation exercises he had me do, he was positive that I only had chronic vocal cord swelling that he could help me fix with the right voice exercise regiment. I cant even tell you how relieved I was! And he was right; within a few weeks, I was already seeing a huge difference, and my voice has been consistently healthy since then. Dan has been my voice teacher ever since. Not only is he extremely knowledgable; he explains things, even when they are scientific and technical, in clear, simple, easy to understand ways. Hes patient, supportive, and extremely giving. It just pours out of him. Working with him is more than a voice lesson; its like therapy. And hes more than my teacher and mentor; hes also a great friend.
Anette gave voice lessons to my 11 year old daughter. She was knowledgable, patient, and fun. She worked on songs that my daughter wanted to sing. She was understanding about school schedules. And it was great to be able to hear the entire lesson through dropbox.
Great teacher, makes you feel very comfortable. I would def recommend her to anyone looking to try voice lessons...
I took voice lessons with Dave for about 7 years. he's a great teacher : knowledgeable, patient, knows how to encourage students and make learning fun ... also good at explaining ... I feel I learned a lot from him and had fun always
"Our two daughters began studying with Jonathan over five years ago when they were just 5 and 7 years old, respectively. They now play quite beautifully and we cannot imagine our home without our piano. They hate to practice, of course, but they can't seem to walk past the piano without giving it a play. Jonathan has been an enthusiastic and engaging teacher who goes out of his way to tailor his lessons to the needs of the kids, to keep them interested and also to have fun. By exposing the girls to an array of musical genres, from Pop to Classical to Jazz to American Standards, our girls have not only learned how to play, but are developing an appreciation for all types of music. We look forward to continuing their musical education with Jonathan!" Victoria M.
Viky is a great voice teacher. I am enjoying working with her immensely.
Nicky has been my children's voice teacher for the past three years. I have seen their vocal range grow and their understanding of technique develop over the years because of their work with her. She is kind, warm and highly experienced. Nicky truly cares about my children and they know it! She encourages them to take risks and has set up a loving environment where they feel safe and supported. She is an excellent teacher, mentor, and coach whom I highly recommend.
This was the first time i had a voice lesson and Sophia made it really comfortable and easy by dumbing down for a novice the process of turning my voice from a nose machine into an instrument - I highly recommend her
Michelle is not only a wonderful person she is a remarkable teacher. I sing with Michelle in the Schiller NJ Chorus and have private singing lessons with her. Not only is her voice glorious but her teaching style covers the many aspects of singing; anatomy, music theory, voice control/development and gentle informative critiques. She’s the best!
Jessica has been an incredibly kind, supportive and knowledgable teacher. I've had a lot of voice teachers over the years, and she has helped take my voice to the next level with her scientifically-based techniques. I've learned about the physics and mechanics of how the voice works and ways to physiologically change my sound, which makes a lot of sense to me (as a former scientist myself). She has also found opportunities for me to sing outside of lessons, which I appreciate. I wholeheartedly recommend Jessica as a voice teacher - she will change your sound for the better.
"Just finished my first SKYPE voice lesson with Jonathan Segal! What a master! Not only do I have the gift of music back in my life, but also a renewed connection with one of the true musical geniuses in NYC. Jonathan has such an incredible and diverse knowledge of music, he's so super funny and encouraging - and I feel like a got a months work done in just an hour! I didn't want it to end!" Olivia is an outstandingly well-rounded, intelligent, professional person who I'm thrilled to be able to take voice lessons with. She understands an individual's voice unlike anyone I've ever seen before, and exhibits great care in nurturing it. She is helpful in a multitude of facets, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
