I enlisted the help of Arbor Tutors to help me with test prep for grad school. Oh man! I am SUPER happy I did that. The tutoring manager walked me through the whole process and set me up with TWO tutors. They also said I could change tutors at any time, but I didn't need to. I was accepted into all of my top choices (Columbia, Penn, Cornell and Duke). I used the application services also (they reviewed my essays).
Ethan helped me raise my score for the SAT in two weeks. Based on my past SATs and practice tests, he developed a work plan that showed me which areas I needed to work on. His organization and practice materials helped me successfully raise my score. He is very kind and really helped relieve stress about the SAT as well as the entire college application process. His rates are also very reasonable when you take into consideration the amount of time he spends formulating a study plan, correcting homework and answering questions by email outside of the tutoring time. I very much recommend Ethan!
Ray has been phenomenal to work with. My daughter worked with him on her application for college and college essays. He is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, responds right away and has very good (and mature) insight. I have recommended him to my friends and would highly recommend him to anyone that is applying to school.
We have been working with Jeremy for the past 9 months. My daughters have benefited great from his knowledge and expertise in the area of the ACT exam and applying to colleges. He took the time to meet with my husband and I on several occasions to discuss his plan and the girls' progress.
What a great advisor for college application help. He helped my daughter target colleges that were a good fit for her and write exceptional essays that captured her personality. He also helped her boost her reading sat score when he saw that was the weakest part of her app.
Jim really connected with my son, made him feel more confident about preparing for and taking the SAT. He was also really helpful through the college application and essay writing process. Highly recommend--will use again for my 2 younger children!
Our overall experience with Jenna has been nothing short of excellent. From the first time meeting Jenna to getting my daughter into her first choice college, she helped make the college process less stressful than it would have been. She guided us in the right direction, kept us up to date with deadlines, helped complete applications, essays, resumes, and short answers. She constantly followed up via text or email to ensure we were crossing all of our "t's" and dotting all of our "i's". Before helping with anything she always made sure it was perfection. As the college applications wrapped up, Jenna kept going and encouraged my daughter to apply for scholarships. She was very knowledgeable and kept us informed of all scholarships and worked very hard getting ours done. It doesn't matter If you are looking for just a little help or the complete package, Jenna will always do her best to help and go above and beyond the minimum. She is very passionate about helping kids and it's not just a job for her... she truly cares
My son and I worked with Michelle throughout the college application process. I found Michelle to be incredibly knowledgeable and approachable. She took the time to get to know my son, his strengths, challenges and interests. Michelle went above and beyond when necessary, even reaching out to my son’s high school guidance counselor to get a better idea of “who” Joshua was as a student. Michelle used this knowledge to put together a comprehensive list of schools that she felt would be a good match for him. In the end, Joshua chose a school that he probably wouldn’t have applied to because we weren’t familiar with it. Michelle’s knowledge of schools really helped to expand Joshua’s list of choices. Michelle was helpful to me as a parent. She was always prompt and timely for our conference calls and she guided me as a single parent through the process as well. Michelle was always there to listen to my own concerns and worries and gave me great advice! She was of great assistance during the FAFSA and Common Application processes, providing guidance along the way as needed. I highly recommend her services!!!
Hallie just began tutoring my 22 year old son in college-level chemistry. They established a good connection and he feels she can help him to get through the year successfully.
Seamus worked with my daughter last fall during the very stressful college application process. The task of writing the critically important Common Application essay, as well as the supplemental essays required by each college, seemed overwhelming. Over the course of two months Seamus guided, calmed, and helped her to shape numerous essays. He assisted her in developing meaningful ideas and finding her voice, which led to beautiful and honest writing. Seamus spent unpaid hours editing her work, bringing revisions to their subsequent tutoring sessions. He understands exactly what the schools are looking for in the essay submissions and he is able to ensure that the writing meets those expectations. Most importantly, Seamus is a patient, humorous, and kind person who is able to build close relationships with adolescents, allowing them to shine even in the most stressful of circumstances. My daughter will be attending Middlebury College next fall and I believe that the essays were pivotal in her admission.

Prism was founded with the belief that there is always more to a student than meets the eye. We are a team of graduates of elite institutions, having successfully helped students to do the same. We also currently work professionally as writers and artists. It is the experience from both these backgrounds that has best allowed us to approach the application process with a philosophy that is unique as well as proven. We aim always to make the process less of a dark, confusing one. And to help applicants best pinpoint those qualities and attributes within their own selves that, expressed the right way, will shine brightest.
I have recently worked with Stephanie during my college application process and she was such a great help to me. She worked with me on my applications and college research and was extremely helpful to me in identifying the college that was my best fit. I would encourage anybody who is applying to college to meet with her because she will help make this process less stressful and a whole lot more enjoyable!

What can I offer you? I evaluate academic, personal, and extracurricular background. I do guide selection of appropriate and desired colleges. I assess chances of admission to target colleges. I help in developing a time line for the admissions process. I guide students, through self-assessment, to identify 'hooks' and strengths to highlight on their application. I help with specialized arts program selection and admissions, as well as planning for the specific requirements of the artistic review process. I assist in every aspect of the application (excluding financial aid): selection of essay topics, editing of essays and short answer questions, presentation of extracurricular achievements and academic recognition. I offer suggestions on how to solicit the most effective letters of recommendation from teachers and guidance counselors, as well as suggestions regarding supplemental recommendations. I suggest ways to make the most of college visits and appropriate contact with professors, admissions officers, coaches, alumni, and students. I work with the student on how to continually express interest in particular colleges, often a factor in the admissions process. I prepare a student for alumni and on-campus interviews through mock interviews and offering tips. For juniors, I assist with course planning, testing schedule, extracurricular choices, and summer activities. I provide support and open and honest feedback through every step of the process until after the wait list (if necessary) and guide in choosing a college once acceptances are offered.
