Highly recommend Jim - enthusiastic, knowledgable and patient teacher of the Saxophone. I am thoroughly enjoying my lessons.Aug 9, 2015Verified
I had a great lesson with Jim. By the end of the first class I'd been able to try a few different types of saxophones and just about play notes on each of them, despite never having even held a Saxophone prior to that. He had a very relaxed style and even took the time to suggest music to listen to once the class had finished. I'd definitely recommend classes with him to friends or anyone else wanting to learn.Jul 17, 2015Verified

Jim Piela is without a doubt one of the most hardworking, talented and professional musicians out there. Having worked with him over the years, his determination to improve not only his own artistry but that of everyone around him is inspirational. I've benefited from simply being around him and can guarantee that anyone who is looking to grow musically will do so with Jim.Aug 5, 2015

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Lessons are paid for monthly. Discounts are considered on a case by case basis. There are no additional fees in addition to your price.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? It's so important to me that we work well together on a personal level. I will want to know why you picked up the instrument in the first place, and what drives you to keep picking it up every day. I'll want to know how you best learn and solve problems, and I'll ask you about long term and short term goals for your music.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have an undergraduate degree in music performance, and a master's degree in jazz performance. I've been teaching private students at all levels for over ten years.
