Introduction: My enthusiasm and detailed explanation of ideas. As a student at Oberlin, I tutored and taught fellow undergraduates, and I took immense pleasure in the opportunity to share my skill set and deconstruct concepts. I am at the core a "people person" - it brings me tremendous joy!

Martha is my daughter's, Katliana, flute teacher. She is great with my daughter. Martha always has a smile, and her professionalism is outstanding. I would highly recomend her as a performer and flute teacher.

We just met Martha and already agreed on setting dates for lessons. My 12 year old daughter felt comfortable working with Martha and was/is motivated enough to practice for her next lesson. We're looking forward to the next and future lesson(s).
Flute Lessons

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

As aforementioned, I caught the bug quite early, and sang in church choir and Peabody Children's Chorus (Baltimore area), and played the recorder quite seriously before picking up the flute at age 9. It wasn't really a choice, it was more like a continuation of everything that I had experienced in my life!

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Technique building through etudes and scale exercises; working through repertoire that is not only appropriate for the student's level but is also challenging in unique ways; building confidence in sightreading and theory; coaching chamber music

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

It's all about personality. The enthusiasm the student brings to the lesson should be matched by the positive attitude of the teacher.
