I needed a new hard drive for my computer, which had taken an unfortunate fall. Unprofessional. Stephen promised repair of the machine within hours; then updated it to a "day." Later, he advised we not repair it because it would be costly. I approved repair at a given price, and he promised return of the machine within a day or two. He eventually provided an update and said it would be delayed. He repeatedly promised it would be returned but did not return it. He did not contact my fiancee to deliver the computer, despite having his number. 5 days expired. I called and he told me he was busy and would call right back. He never did. Later, he claimed that he had lost his phone but the machine would be returned. Another day passed; he did not return it. The next day, I left a message and told him the machine must be returned. He called back, enraged, to say no one had ever spoken to him that way and he would not tolerate being spoken to that way. He claimed that he called my fiancee's phone repeatedly to schedule drop-off. When my fiancee got a hold of him, he suddenly (8 days after possession of the machine) claimed that the machine could not be repaired and had to go to the manufacturer. He promised to return it between 6-7pm that night. My fiancee waited in vain. Stephen then mailed thru Thumbtack to claim that he was never leaving the house on a Sunday to deliver. AVOID this individual.

First of all Kudos to Thumbtack for doing a great job of vetting their service agents! I run an internet retail business and came in to work one day to a dead computer. I was in panic mode and called a friend to assist me with an internet search for computer service professionals….we chose Thumbtack and couldn’t be happier. Within the hour I had a call from Hector and to my surprise he was able to come over the same afternoon. He did some routine tests, picked up my computer and left me a desktop loaner so that I was able to continue business as usual without missing a sale. Hector was reassuring which is just what I needed and as soon as he got back to his workbench called me with the best possible news. My problem was a burned out power supply and amazingly he had a suitable replacement right in his shop and made quick work of the repair and even did some registry cleanup which enhanced my performance. Since I am extremely suspicious of service professionals (everyone has left their car to an auto mechanic, only to get an oversized bill with a litany of suspicious parts and problems that exceed the replacement value of the car) Not only did Hector provide the tri-fector of speed, skill and professionalism, the bill he provided was far less than I expected. I plan to use him in the near future for some upgrades and installations and I am certain that I will be just as pleased to recommend him to all my friends and business partners.
