We needed a kitchen cabinet removed and a new dishwasher installed. His work was fantastic! He came by on the evening and worked quickly. I would recommend him to anyone looking to have a similar job done. I know we will be using him again for other projects!

Eddie came over to diagnose and fix a leaking sink and a dishwasher that was not working. He fixed the sink quickly and was able to diagnose the problem with the dishwasher easily. He was not able to repair it at the time, but he was able to make a few recommendations and adjust his price to accommodate the situation. I will be using him again if we need a plumber!

Roosevelt was very patient and reliable. He ordered a new part for me and when it didn't fix the problem and another new component was needed, he returned to my home and refunded all the money I had paid for the part and labor when it turned out not to be cost effective to repair my old dishwasher. He is a highly ethical, detail oriented repairman you can trust.

I have referred this service to many friends and they are all delighted. They stand by their work and are knowledgeable in many brands. When necessary, they think outside the box for repairs. When the manufacturer of my dishwasher claimed the part for my repair would cost $500, All Appliance Matters was able to fix for $30. It’s been two years and no problem. They have also fixed my washer and dryer and provided maintenance. All around great experience.

After scheduling issues, Tommy arrived and quickly identified my water leak issue. We agreed he would come back the next day to repair it. He did a great job fixing the foundation leak. While he was here I also had him repair a toilet. He is very pleasant to work with. I appreciated his explanation of what he was doing. He provided me with the documentation I need for insurance.

We have a Maytag 30" Electric Wall Convection Oven. It has been a pretty good oven so far. I have been very satisfied with it performance until a couple months ago when I put a chicken in the oven, and an hour later it was burned to a crisp. I checked the settings and that should not have happened. So I called up Appliance Repair New York and set up an appointment. The technician Stanley was a nice guy. He showed up on time and he really seemed to know his stuff. He examined out Oven and discovered that the thermostat needed replaced. He had brought one with him, and before you know it. The oven was working fine. The whole visit cost less than a nice dinner out, so no complaints there. That is what I like about Appliance repair New York, there are no surprises. Their technicians are honest and hardworking, and they never try to tack on extra work to pad the bill. I would recommend them to anybody in need of appliance repair in the New York area.

I have a large two door U-line refrigerator freezer that was no longer getting cold. U-line Refrigerator Repair technician was able to come the next morning at 10 AM. The young repairman named Steven from the Extrem Experts was right on time and got started right away. After a few minutes of initial diagnosis, he determined the refrigeration unit needed to be recharged. Steven did the recharge quickly and efficiently and neatly. I was impressed how knowledgeable and confident he was in his work. I wished all repairmen worked as smart and efficiently as Steven did. He represents Appliance a Masters very well.

We cook a lot of high end food at my bar in New York. I was lucky enough to hire one of the best chefs in New York City; thank god he has not realized it yet. My bar is packed every night during dinner, and the kitchen is always working at high speed. So the other day when my manager Steve called me to tell me that our Thermador Professional Series 36 Inch Pro-Style Gas Rangetop was acting up I told him to call New York Appliance Repair immediately and let them know Leon needs a repairman out to fix it yesterday. I have been using New York Appliance Repair for years and they always work very hard to get me up and running as soon as possible. The repair victor took a look at our unit and told me the control board needed replaced. Luckily he just happened to bring one with him anticipating we might need one. That is why I always call New York Appliance Repair. They get it. They realize when you have a restaurant in New York City and you need an appliance fixed, you need it done now, not next week. Steve had us up and running in no time. I invited him and his wife back for dinner on the house. He did a great job. I cannot thank him enough, and the next time anything breaks I will definitely be calling New York Appliance Repair.

          Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

          • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
          • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
          • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

          How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
