About

Rae de la Cretaz is a magician! I walked into my first lesson with her seven short months ago, after many years of longing to take singing lessons and a year of procrastinating. She put me right at ease, and I got to experience her incredible store of knowledge, energy and outright passion for the human voice. When I came in, I had what I described as a "pleasant" voice, no better, no worse. I had been singing (mostly to myself) for my entire life, and for the last 18 years with a choir. The change in this short amount of time still surprises me. Sometimes when I sing during my lesson, I hardly recognize that it's me singing. There's a richness that I would have admired in others, but never thought would be possible for me. People whose opinions I respect have come forward and remarked favorably about my voice, something I didn't experience before. In the short time that I've been taking lessons with Rae, I've learned so much, and look forward to coming to each lesson. She is a treasure!

I have not been working with Pamela for long, so ask me again in a couple of months and I'll probably change to 5 stars! So far I enjoy my lessons and the exercises we do have already expanded my range. My high E used to be just a squeak but now I can really sing it after only a few lessons, and I even feel more confident with my lower range - something that has always been a struggle. I look forward to seeing what is in store with her guidance. I fully recommend Miss Pamela!

About

We provide soloist and group harmony lessons, tracks and recording. We do mixing and mastering, and we are SAE certified. Learn from the pros. We offer vocal lessons, coaching, arrangements, and vocal harmonies in all fields of gospel, a capella, R&B and barbershop harmony, etc. Be taught on your favorite style of music, or learn your favorite song as a soloist or group. You may also choose an original song from our list to learn and record at a price. If you want the best vocal backgrounds and musical tracks for your songs, whether they are original or cover tunes, let 2Smooth Production, who specializes in this format, create them for you. We also create the vocal harmonies for your songs if there is none, from the simple to the most intricate harmonies of today. We teach vocal harmonies for those who want to be vocal arrangers and teachers. We show people who cannot read music to enhance their natural ear playing and how to create their own tracks, vocal, and music harmonies. We also teach regular one-on-one vocal lessons. Remember that you do not have to know how to read music to make music. There is so much talents out there who play by ear but do not feel there is a place in the industry for them; that is so far from the truth. You know why? Because I am one of those natural ear players who elaborate on just those talents. If you need proof, just listen to our songs on the site. I, Frederick J. Amorosa Jr., created all of the tracks, and I've played all instruments and harmonies. You may also obtain 2Smooth to do the harmonies on your next song by backing you up in the studio or on stage. Therefore, if you want the best, then put us to the test and reach out and call. We are more than happy to talk to you.

Anette gave voice lessons to my 11 year old daughter. She was knowledgable, patient, and fun. She worked on songs that my daughter wanted to sing. She was understanding about school schedules. And it was great to be able to hear the entire lesson through dropbox.

Having worked with Alex over the past 5 months, I truly value him as a teacher and coach. He has the unique ability to facilitate a relaxed and educational environment. Not only is Alex a skilled pianist, his vocal knowledge has helped me trust my voice again in a more free and relaxed way. Alex provides performance time for his students and is more than willing to do what he can for our success. Personally, he has taken time to help me build my musical theatre repertoire and has helped me learn the ins and outs of the musical theatre circuit. I highly recommend Alex for voice (and piano) lessons. Not only is he good for a good laugh, he takes the time to get to know his students and work toward their individual goals.

About

Tim Russell was truly helpful in teaching me how to sing, and his lessons were always very enjoyable. He is really good at making you feel comfortable in his classes. He understands how to enable a person reach their maximum singing potential. As a beginner, I had no previous training, but he was extremely patient with me and made me feel more comfortable with my singing voice. As our lessons went on, he incorporated more vocal exercises in order to help me achieve new areas with my voice. He was very effective at adapting his coaching while I got better at singing. My voice literally transformed in ways that I had previously thought impossible. I literally went from receiving dirty looks to applause when I sang! All this was done with just 16 lessons with Mr. Russell, and I am eternally grateful. He truly loves his job and is both passionate and knowledgeable about his field, and I strongly recommend him as a vocal coach.

About

Thumbtack has given my studio the "Best of 2015 award" for Voice lessons in New York City. Reach your vocal potential! No matter what style of music you sing, breath and resonance must work together to create the desired sound. My studio includes professional performers and serious hobby enthusiasts. (What do I mean by serious? Taking at least two lessons monthly.) Talent is a given, but reaching your vocal potential requires work, discipline and regular study. Though I am versed in the latest scientific advances and trends in vocal pedagogy, my teaching style is based on the Lamperti Italian bel canto techniques of balanced registration. To sing well, a singer must know how to play their body on command. Balancing breath management with resonance usage, and making necessary adjustments in registration produces the desired vocal sound. As a teacher, my goal is to provide every singer with the proper tools for producing the desired sound in the healthiest way possible. The constant is always breath balanced against the resonance usage. When your breath is freed correctly, you are free to communicate efficiently in song. All new students are evaluated to determine their current level of ability, correct vocal classification, current and potential range, and preferred learning modalities. All areas of voice performance are addressed including breath management, registration, resonance, vocal health, repertoire suggestions, diction, and performance preparation. Basic musicianship is addressed if needed. This includes how to read a musically notated vocal line, understanding time signatures and rhythm, understanding the differences in style, learning how to inform a lyric, mic techniques (where applicable), and suggestions for appropriate repertoire. Though most of my students see immediate improvement, learning to master your voice is a journey that stretches over the course of your entire career. It boils down to "practice, practice, practice" which includes performing along the way. I look forward to helping you on your vocal journey. Please note: Internet lessons are available via OOVOO (ID is "singnow") to clients I have seen in person PRIOR to the Internet. This has provided solutions to my X Factor clients while they taped in LA and to music theater pros during extended out-of-town tours. I only recommend Internet lessons as a Band-Aid solution if the client cannot appear in the studio. VoIP technology is not a substitute for the sound produced in person and is also unreliable (think about how often a live feed is interrupted while you watch remote broadcasts). Here's a note for parents: I am very experienced in preparing students for performing arts university programs and for high school auditions. These programs are very competitive. The longer your child has studied, the better his/her chance to win a place. I recommend students begin studying weekly at least one month in advance of the audition date for high school auditions and ideally at the start of junior year (or before) for college preparation. Vocal study counts as a "soft" in college entrance consideration when the student has participated in vocal solo festivals like NYSSMA. Testimonials are as follows: "As a teacher, Maria Fattore is caring and perceptive. Most importantly, she is able to supply her students with technical help that goes well beyond imagery into concrete, intelligible technical adjustments to solve vocal issues." -- Ira Siff, The Metropolitan Opera "Working with Maria Fattore is the fastest way from point A to point B. Every time I work with her, I find more vocal freedom. She is the best in the city!" -- Babs Winn, AEA "In a nutshell, Maria not only teaches amazing technique, but she also gives you the skills to survive a long run." -- Kenny Wade Marshall, AEA "Maria is amazing! She gave me a technique, and our work landed me on X Factor. She's one of the rare ones that actually knows what she's talking about. She will make you better! I love working with her." -- Al Calderon, AEA "Maria's interactive teaching is efficient, and her feedback addresses my vocal issues scientifically and visually. The homework assignments are tailor-made for me and have helped accelerate my progress, improve my tone and range, and given me more vocal freedom. She is a solid, responsible and knowledgeable educator." -- L. Wang, Teacher "My 14-year-old daughter is preparing for fall auditions, and we were referred to Maria. My daughter learned more in one session with Maria than she had learned after 20 sessions with another teacher. It was an easy decision to make a change." -- Virginia B., Parent

About

I'm having one hour (classical) singing lessons with Andrew, on a weekly basis. I had already taken singing lessons in France, so I came with standards and expectations. To be honest, it was better than what I was expecting ! Andrew is a great teacher : he takes times for his students, pays a lot of attention to every detail, give really good advice. If you add his natural kindness and cheerfulness, you can easily make the conclusion that he is the perfect singing teacher !

Mr. Raiken is an incredible voice instructor. His breadth and depth of knowledge is vast, far beyond what I could have expected. Moreover, his professional experience makes all the information he provides practical and useful. In addition to his skill and intellect, Mr. Raiken is warm, caring, patient and professional. He employs proven and scientific techniques to enhance my natural qualities to bring them from sounding “pretty” to professional and profound. Since beginning my training it has been noted by amateur and professional musicians as well as audiences alike who have listened to me sing for years that I am performing with a new, enhanced level of skill, and reaching audiences in a deeper way. Finding an instructor that specializes working with adults is not easy, and finding one as incredible as Mr. Raiken has been nothing short of a miracle.

I have known Michael for a little over a year now, and I never cease to be amazed by his talent as a vocalist and teacher. I worked with Michael in Curious George Live! where he acted as our vocal captain (essentially our musical director) on tour. He lead our warm ups and cleaned songs. He worked with us on harmonies and blending. He has a keen ability to sense what needs to change in order to make a song sound better and convey it's message. Michael has worked with all levels of talent and is a capable teacher for beginners as well as seasoned professionals. He is very funny and fun to work with. He keeps the environment light while remaining ever-professional. I highly recommend working with Michael, whether it be for ongoing voice lessons or audition preparation. You won't be disappointed.

I was somewhat worried about starting piano lessons at 36 years old, but thankfully I found Sage Music. I couldn't imagine a better place to learn music than with Jason and his team. They take the time to make sure you understand the mechanics (mental and physical) in playing an instrument, and the pace of learning is set by the individual. Highly recommend Sage Music.

Alexandra has been giving me singing lessons. She is not only a gifted and accomplished singer, but she is able to meet students with compassion at exactly the level they are and as issues and habits surface. She is extremely creative and generous, and more important, her information is accurate and specific. She is not deterred by nor does she frown upon questions; in fact she has shared important insights between lessons when I have contacted her. Her integrity to vocal health and her dedication to her students is exceptional. I am so grateful to be working with her!

About

I've taken voice lessons for nearly 10 years and as a result have had a number of different teachers, but I feel my voice is the strongest and most stable it has ever been after studying with Katie. She hits the nail on the head with her visuals - unlike other instruments, you can't see what you're playing when you sing, so being able to understand what your teacher is getting at is crucial to the process. Katie far surpasses any teacher I've had in this way. Aside from her solid vocal and teaching skills, she's a joy to be around. Voice lessons are a much more pleasant experience when your teacher makes you feel comfortable enough to laugh at your own mistakes, brush them off, and go for it again. There is literally no judgment in the room - only encouragement and construction. I absolutely would (and have in the past) recommend Katie to beginner and advanced students.

About

Vivian has been my vocal coach for years. There are several reasons why I've given her a 5 star rating. She was extremely honest in her assessment and feedback of where I was vocally when I began my lessons. Because she is a singer, Vivian was able to not only tell me but show me how to administer different techniques. She also took the time to educate me to the business of music and was very open to questions. Lastly, when her schedule permitted, Vivian took the time to come and see my live shows. In doing so, she was able to customize my lessons with not only vocal but performance technique as well. I would and have recommended Vivian to anyone who is looking to take their voice to the next level, wants an honest assessment , and is willing to work hard in order to achieve their best.
