Katherine L. says, "James Wengrow was the guitarist, MD, and producer for the music of my wedding last fall. From the initial consultation to the very last dance, James made sure the process for hiring our wedding band was simple, seamless and made for an incredible reception. His experience and knowledge was recognizable from our the first call — we had our reception at a gorgeous, spacious museum with over 200 guests. He made multiple recommendations about the set list, the number of musicians, sound engineers, equipment, etc. throughout the process and was transparent about expectations and costs the whole time. He did a ton of research to find what would be best for us, sourced everything and kept us filled in every step of the way which was hugely reassuring. He also took into account our preferences for music genres and made sure the set list and instruments reflected our tastes. James expertly organized the band—all highly talented musicians—who played jazz standards in guitar/bass/drums format for the cocktail hour and then a full band playing pop, rock, and R&B hits from multiple decades for the main event. The singer, Leah Rich, was incredible, and James' impressive skills on the guitar were also noted by many guests - he was absolutely shredding! The music was amazing and had everyone dancing, and we had so many compliments from our family and friends about how awesome the band sounded. James also went above and beyond during two snafus—one, by keeping us on schedule for our first dance when our event coordinator dropped the ball, and second, by adjusting the setlist on the fly when there was a medical emergency AND then by keeping the mood up—his adaptability and professionalism were huge assets when things went awry. I’m not over-exaggerating when I say our night was perfect in no small part due to James & the amazing band — he was truly the best, and we would recommend him to anyone looking to book a stellar group for their wedding/any other event!!"See more

Throughout my life I have had 3 guitar teachers before him, for as long as a year, and have never been better than I am right now (this is also in half the session time as previous teachers had me start with 1hr sessions). For the first time in my life I am confident to say "I play guitar," despite having started lessons when I was still in elementary school! His knowledge of the guitar, calm demeanour and method of teaching have me more comfortable than ever with a guitar in my hands. I'm confident transitioning between chords, as well as barre chords for the first time in my life! Oh, and now I can read music! Within the first month I was already able to start picking up and learning a few songs and now I can play most songs that I try to learn, picking up the chord progressions rather simply for most songs I attempt. Right now we are still progressing to get better each week, learning cool finger techniques and scales! After just a small time with Anthony I've developed a love and passion for playing the guitar, which has turned into an almost therapeutic experience right in the palm of my hands! Can't say enough good things about Anthony, and if your on the fence then I would say don't wait, start as soon as you can! Before starting lessons with Peter I met with a couple other guitar teachers and gauged them against others I have known. I chose Peter because I found him to be everything I was looking for. Peter is smart. He is both a highly skilled player and a talented teacher. He is dedicated to teaching guitar vs teachers who don’t primarily play guitar or teachers who don’t have any training in guitar pedagogy.
