Abigail makes incredibly tasty dishes that seem complex but she is able to explain them well and provide step-by-step instructions that make the entire process seem a lot easier. She is a very talented chef, and I have learned a lot of basic cooking tips from her that I never used before but now cannot live without. I have enjoyed being able to try new things as well as improve upon my previous skills. Highly recommend!

Amee provided a private cooking class for me, my mom and my sister for my birthday. She developed a menu of foods I and was flexible as to the time of the class. She was well-prepared, professional, and answered all of our many, many questions. She is fun, too! It was exactly what I was looking for.

I reached out on Thumbtack for someone who could give my brother some recipes and inspiration to make a medically-indicated, highly restrictive diet more manageable (my husband's and my graduation present to him). Mary responded with a couple of format options that we could choose from, and, with input from my brother, we settled on a cooking lesson in her home. My brother provided her with his list of dietary restrictions and diet history before the appointment. Based on this information, she gave him recipes and ideas and made several dishes for him to try. I was glad our mom could go along as well, since she is the main cook in his life and he is still at home for now (I live out of state). My brother said Mary was very friendly, helpful, and encouraging, and couldn't think of anything that could have gone better. "I would say five stars." Although I wasn't able to be there, I can tell he was encouraged, and that is exactly what I was hoping for. I was also thankful for Mary's helpfulness and patience with my three-way correspondence while I worked on getting this coordinated. She was supportive and professional from beginning to end.

After we found Vicky, our family couldn't have been happier. She quickly met with us to review our preferences, our needs and expectations. She ensured there were no food allergies and spent a lot of her own time to share her ideas and recipes. But her food speaks louder than words! Restaurant quality food, with your own personalized menu every week...it seemed like each meal is better than the last. The food was always tasty and healthy. Vicky was always looking for feedback, ways to improve, and always willing to share her recipes. She is highly recommended to whoever is lucky enough to find her.

I teach children ages 2-10 as well as adults how to cook healthy. I do kids birthday cooking parties at your home as well as private lessons. I also do children's tea parties for birthdays or other occasions.

I provide culinary excellence right in your home for private parties or special occasions. I discovered my interest with food watching my father cook, and I have had a long-standing professional passion with food for 15 years. I currently work as a chef at the Osteria inside Whole Foods. I have mastered Southern, Italian, Mexican and American cuisines. I am also a healthy eating ambassador capable of delighting your taste buds with vegan, vegetarian and healthy dishes.

My dinners differ from the various mobile meal services in several significant ways. My dinners are quite ample; portions are considerably larger than those served in mobile meal services. My dishes are more complex. I serve Pasta Puttanesca; Chicken Picatta; Shepherd's Pie, for instance. Dinners often include a homemade soup like Corn Chowder, Lentil Soup, or Pea Soup with Ham. I bake a variety of scrumptious desserts. My garden salads and fruit salads are packed with fresh ingredients. Rolls and breads are baked fresh, too. No powdered foods, mixes, or frozen foods are used. All my dishes are prepared from scratch. My dinner service is more like having a personal chef, than having the usual senior meal delivery service.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
