Steve did an amazing job with the photography at our Event. He arrived early and actually ended up staying later than we had booked and didn't charge us. He was having just as good a time at our graduation as our guests did. The photographs he took were excellent lots of candid shots of our guests during the social hour and after the ceremony when the fun and dancing began. And we had the photographs within 72 hours of our event. I also loved all the different links he sent for the photos, a Flickr album to distribute to our residents and their family, a Dropbox with the full size images for print, and another Dropbox with images resized for web use. Above and beyond in every aspect of our booking. From the beginning his reply response was quick and courteous. Thank you so much we will definitely use Steve again for future Corporate Events and personal events.

He is the best photographer I could have hired for my special day. I booked him 12-14 hours before my event and he was amazing. I got lucky that I found him. He is extremely professional and I am waiting to see the final photos. He showed me some samples of my pictures a couple of hours after my event. I already love them. Joe was there before time and stayed extra even though it was freezing.

Scott Davis is the photographer's actual name. In a nutshell, he took some "complimentary" photos of us at our consultation to meet him. Took our deposit to hold our date. The photos from the consult were terrible, so we asked for our deposit back when we decided we didn't want to use him for our wedding. He stopped responding to any communication and has not refunded us our deposit. We found Scott on Thumbtack. He sent us a gallery of photos of what he said was his previous work, and the photos were very good. (Now I am quite certain he did not take those photos). He said he needed a $200 deposit to hold our date if he was to photograph our wedding. He also offered a complimentary consultation to meet him, discuss our event and to take a few photos to get comfortable before our event. We had our consultation on June 24th in Lebanon, OH. We discussed our event, style of photos, and he took some photos of us. He asked for my info so he could fill out a contract and send to us to sign and asked for the $200 deposit. We gave him our info and the deposit to hold our date. A few days later, he sent us a gallery of the photos and still no contract, but he had cashed the check immediately. 90% of the photos he took of us were poor quality, blurry, poorly edited, etc. I asked if he would re-edit some of our favorites more to our style and he literally said he could only do so much with the poor quality some of the pictures were (completely admitting his photos were not good). After going back and forth for a few days, with still no contract, and realizing his photos were not even comparable to the samples, we let him know that we no longer wished to use his services for our event. He clearly stated that the deposit was just to hold the date, which we no longer needed him to do; so we requested our deposit back. He said he would take out a percent for his services rendered (which he had said previously were "complimentary"). Then he said he would return the deposit via mail, we have yet to receive anything and he has stopped responding to any of our emails, calls, texts. Basically he took our money and ran - so Thumbtack, you should probably remove him from your service. I've attached a photo of the sample he sent me and then two photos of us from our "Complimentary" consultation. It's pretty obvious that there are major differences... I also have records of all the emails, verbal agreement info, etc. of the encounter if Thumbtack can do anything to help us get our money back.

My fiance and I decided to elope last minute and we really wanted to commemorate our big day, even though it was on such short notice. Kingsley responded to us promptly and offered us a very attractive deal. On the day, he showed up at the agreed time and was very eager about our big day. We asked for his help with recording the whole ceremony on our personal camera, with which he agreed and helped film it perfectly. Kingsley was very professional and helped both my husband and I (we're both a bit camera shy) for our couple and individual photos. After the wedding, he replied with the finished photos within the same week. They were amazing! Our families and we love them a lot. We are really thankful for what Kingsley did for us! I would definitely recommend his skills for your special event.

This was about as painful as painful gets when dealing with a photographer - or at least I imagine. In all my years of hiring photographers - for both my professional and important personal events - I have never experienced something like this. But, Stacy was a last minute hire (about a week or so out out) for my baby twins baptism and I should have questioned that to begin with - especially in the thick of wedding season. But, I did my quick research. I read the reviews here on Thumbtack and visited her website. The reviews were good and her galleries on her site looked great. And, so I thought the person in the profile pic looked to be someone who knew what they were doing. After all, her bio says how she first got a camera at a young age and his she has spent the last 20 years documenting clients stories. How nice. Well, they must have been fables because first, the girl in the profile pic (at the time of hire), isn't Stacy. Nope, not even close. She's older with a dark haired and a taller, bigger frame. Not the young, cute petite girl in the profile pic. That was a shocker. I have no clue who it is but it was awkward when Stacy arrived (late by the way). I spent the next 15 minutes going over in my head thinking "is this the person I hired or did she send a replacement??" That was my first red flag. The second was that I thought it was a bit odd that I couldn't find any reviews for this experienced photographer outside of Thumbtack. No obvious Facebook page, no nothing. I believe I had founds personal Facebook page, but nothing indicated she was a photographer or a person passionate about photography (again, at the time of this review). I would not be surprised if she reads this and makes quick edits. You'll understand why in a minute. Third red flag is that when greeted she just looked at me like a deer in headlights...almost like she didn't know what to do next. She then asked me if she could use flash in the church and I had no idea. She was the professional, not me. I feel that she should have asked the priest who was available or really have already known this since she told me she was so experienced with baptisms and first communions. Needless to say, she used flash and the priest afterwards was not happy and told me she "crossed the line." But I kinda chuckle at that because really in a literal sense, the woman never moved. And again, for someone who told me she has photographed many baptisms, she clearly didn't know a thing about a Catholic mass. She was timid and extremely passive. I had to constantly prod her to take shots (at the sign of peace I forwent greeting my family and friends and instead had to reiterate to her that it was OK to move around rather than sit behind rows of people in the pews.) Later I found out my guests sitting near her also were also encouraging her to move. There was also one point during the mass when we were about to bring up the gifts for communion and were at the back of the church. Stacy comes back there and asks if we were leaving! No, we were just about to walk up the aisle and I had to prod her to basically run back to her seat so she could get a shot. I was so, so disappointed. And after mass it didn't get any better. It was brutal and I just kept praying she had some secret and that everything would be OK. I think my high school cousin would have been a better photographer. And then there's the delivery of the photographs. A month later. She blew right past her estimated two week turnaround. And they were awful. Tear-inducing awful. I am still upset. This was a very important event and she blew it. And I unfortunately put all my eggs into her basket - only for her to smash them all. The photos were blurry, grainy, shakey and highly edited - terribly!! They were either over-saturated (somehow we all got orange tans) high contrast (every photo has this haze over them) and crazy lighting with tons of shadows from using the flash. And...she turned my green eyes BROWN! Yes, she decided to give me a new eye color. I couldn't believe it. The one family photo she provided after snapping quite a few was terrible - my little baby boy looked like he was going to murder someone. Really? This is what you provide??!! Couldn't you at least tried to fix it? Then there was excuse after excuse after excuse why I couldn't even get a teaser - even four weeks after the event. Sick boyfriends, mission trips, more sick boyfriends. And she never responded promptly to any form of communication.... email, phone or text. It was like pulling teeth. I have NEVER experienced anything like this. So in a nutshell how would I rate this photographer? Awful and fraudulent. Totally not represented of what she says and advertises. I'm not even sure if the photos she claims are really hers! She crushed this very important day for us...one of the most important of my childrens' lives and we have nothing to show of it. (Well, except for a lot of blurry, heavily, poor edited shots of the back of people's heads). Buyer BEWARE! Hiring Stacy to do any photography work will be a HUGE MISTAKE - I don't want anyone to experience what we did. You cannot trust this woman. ** Please note we requested that Stacy work with us to remedy this situation by refund or to a term acceptable by both parties, but she has refused. We also attempted to receive any raw images so a professional could perhaps salvage them, but she had already destroyed them. I will be more than happy to share all photos of this shoot as indicative of her skills.
