Roderick has been training my 11 year old son for a few months now. My son loves coming to work out, Rodrick is excellent with kids. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a place for their kids to work out. He is very patient and teaches not only working out but also what to eat, a whole health package.

I’ve been training with Jon for nearly a year and a half now. I had worked out on my own and decided I wanted to step up my game and possibly compete in NPC Bikini, so I reached out to Jon for help. After 12 weeks of training & nutrition with him, I not only competed for the first time.. but won 1st place in my divisions and know without a doubt I would not have done it without his training. Whether you are looking to compete or just looking to better yourself with a healthier lifestyle, Jon is your man. He’s knowledgeable, professional, accommodating, an excellent motivator, always positive, and creative with workouts. He will challenge you and positively push you to dig deep and be the best version of yourself, whatever your fitness goals may be. I leave every single training session with Jon feeling confident & looking forward to the next. Team Ripper!

Catered a birthday party for our father at a local rehab center. Provided bbq and all the sides for the patients and staff; approx 40 people. The food was spot on and had a authentic home cooked quality. A very memorable experience.

Top notch catering! We had them cater my daughters 1st birthday today (breakfast at Tiffanys themed) and they made it SEAMLESS. Food was amazing, staff was friendly, they boxed up all the leftovers and organized them in my fridge, then cleaned up everything. No dishes to do, bellies were full and happy, and it didn't break the bank! All of our guests wanted their info to book their next party- they were THAT impressed. We will definitely be using them again. Oh yea- and when we went to meet them to make the arrangements they served us some amazing food and drinks, on the house. We aren't rich, but they sure made us feel like we were. ❤️💁💁💎💎

This is a family business and they are outstanding!!! They made sure my guest were very well taken care of!!! And the food😂😂😂. The pork tenderloin and the chicken (and it wasn't just ordinary chicken either, she ordered it special. It was a chicken breast with this cute little bone. Very fancy!!!) were to die for!!! Moist and juicy! The veggies and potatoes were absolutely marvelous!!! She made this special salad dressing that was amazing!!! I loved everything about their service. Anyone who asks, when I have another event, Harris Catering is who I refer and prefer. The price was very reasonable and worth every dime!!! I'm in love with this family!!! I lost my initial caterer at the last minute and Harris Catering came thru in the clutch. They went that extra mile for me. Good service is rare these days but Harris Catering knows what its about. This was my first experience with thumbtack but I will try it again. Thank you!👍👍👍

I met with Erin shortly after being newly diagnosed with diabetes. She gave me tons of information about the disease and how I could avoid having to use insulin by controlling my diet. She was extremely knowledgeable about all types of foods and how they would affect my blood sugar and my overall health. Instead of feeling defeated, I felt encouraged and hopeful after meeting with her. She was caring and professional, and I felt very comfortable with her approach.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.

How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Nutritionists often require an initial consultation with a new client, during which they’ll take a medical history, assess the client’s nutritional needs, and determine the best course of action; this first meeting usually averages $100-$120 for a 45-minute to 90-minute consultation. Subsequent nutritional counseling sessions generally cost less, ranging from an average of $45 for a half-hour session to $60-$90 for a one-hour session. Like many professional service providers, nutritionists may offer discounts through package pricing. For instance, a one-month package with two sessions and email support costs an average of $190; a three-month package with three sessions and email support costs an average of $360; and a six-month package with six sessions and email support costs an average of $540.

Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
