FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Students have the option of either paying for a whole month worth of lessons or paying by the end of each lesson. If you wish to reschedule or cancel a lesson, I ask that you please notify me 24 hours in advanced. If it has been less than 24 hours, a student may be charged for the lesson.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson will consist of an analysis (vocal or piano) of your goals and what I believe needs to be worked on. We will do a short review of your musical knowledge and I will ask what pieces you have studied, performed, and practiced. Most importantly, we will go through breath support exercises and vocal warm ups. Per the students choice, we will go over a musical piece, applying technique to the song. Music theory and performance practice may be applied during the lesson.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my Bachelor of Music degree from Portland State University, majoring in Vocal Performance. I will be attending Boston University College of Fine Arts as a Graduate student, majoring in Vocal Performance. Along with performing professionally, I have worked with world-renowned singers, such as Audrey Luna and Lawrence Brownlee. I study voice with American baritone Richard Zeller, and am a former student of Portland pianist and composer, Michael Allen Harrison.
