In all my years working in publishing and marketing, I'd say Joan Gale Frank is one of the most creative and intuitive people I've ever worked with. She was an integral part of our team at Sanctuary Publications, consistently contributing her vast marketing experience, pitch-perfect editing and writing with a style and depth that often surprises. One of the values I most admire is her ability to listen carefully to what you need and respond with perfect advice. I have referred her to many clients over the years and continue to work with her on my own writing projects because of her ability to take any topic she's asked to write about, and heighten it to a new, exciting level.

I decided to have him do some editing. He, accurately, recognized that my book proposal was too long. I'd been misled by one that said a proposal might be 100 pages. He reduced my overly long chapter descriptions to about a single sentence each. After that, I had to focus on writing so I haven't employed him for a while, but I may do so in the future. When I saw the firve stars I was influenced by the Amazon practice making five stars very rare. I was surprised to see "good" opposite five stars. Was it there before? I'd imagine most editors might not accomplish what he did and have tried to describe that. I think your rating scale needs work since it seems to me to limit the top rating to just "good." and Mr. Munkvold was better than that.

I hired Karen to assist me in editing and reorganizing an academic paper. Karen and I had several conversations by text and then talked over the phone before I received my paper back. Karen is articulate, detail oriented and works very quickly. I believe now I will have the confidence to complete my paper by its deadline. Thank you Karen

From a young age, I fell in love with the power of words to shape and inform meaning. I studied primarily literature, writing, and cultural studies in both my undergraduate and graduate programs. In my freelance work, I edit primarily academic and business documents, as well as web and advertising copy, for a variety of high-profile editing and proofreading companies. In addition, I also edit for independent clients seeking my services to ensure that their writing is clear, concise, powerful, and communicative of their intended style and message. As a professional editor, my particular area of preference is book-length manuscripts that require editing prior to being submitted to a literary agent and/or (self-)publishing. I will work with you to determine your specific needs, providing extensive editing using the Track Changes feature in Microsoft Word. Additionally, I utilize the Comments feature to provide detailed comments that are meant to strengthen your writing, point out discrepancies or areas in need of clarification, and offer suggestions. What distinguishes my services from other editors’ services is that I am available for Skype consultations to discuss any questions that you may have. In my editing work, I consider myself to be a true partner in helping to ensure that your writing is the most powerful, clear, and expressive that it can be, all while editing for grammar, spelling, syntax, and organization.

What is a graphophobe? I am glad you asked! Graphophobia is the fear of writing. Maybe you aren't afraid, maybe you're just too busy. Either way, I can help. You need someone you can count on to deliver a quality product on time and under budget. Turns out, those are my specialties.
