Dr. Judkins is an excellent teacher. Only after a few lessons with him, my son had a significant improvement in ACT reading, from 19 questions wrong to 2 questions wrong in official practice tests. We are looking forward to seeing other big improvements in his future college level lessons with Dr. Judkins.

Monica is a wonderful teacher. She is flexible with our lessons and schedule, and a very positive instructor. My 11 year old son and I are taking lessons together and she is very patient. We have fun and look forward to our lessons each week! I am confident we will be speaking more fluently in the next few months!

From the beginning Nancy immediately set out to understand what my specific needs were and how to achieve them. Talking to Nancy is fun, she's very good at finding common interests and utilizing the lessons to expand my knowledge about culture in addition to language. And most importantly I can see results! Nancy pays attention to pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary and grammar as well as building confidence in my own verbal abilities. I highly recommend Her!

Katrina is a very resourceful and professional tutor. She gave me many different activities to do during classes, and shared several tips and methods to inspire me to improve Spanish daily. She's easy to talk with, and super flexible about time/location for lessons. She also held some group classes or gathering among her students, so that we all made some new friends while learning Spanish!

I have taken private musical composition lessons with Susan for over two years. Susan is a professional sound designer, musician and artist of the highest caliber. She has an incredibly in-depth knowledge of her field and a highly intuitive sense for teaching the arts (a notoriously difficult subject area to teach), coupled with a subtle knowledge of how to encourage a student’s creativity by providing just the right amount of direction. Susan has helped me immensely with organizing the scope and meaning of projects, thinking way outside of the box (a great specialty of hers), and providing energy, encouragement, and ample reference points for further study. Her wonderfully cheerful, comfortable and nurturing manner makes it a delight to work with her. Susan always gives freely of her time and energy, above and beyond the call of duty. She is an inspiring artist, an insightful teacher, and is a whole lot of fun to be with. I recommend her enthusiastically!

I really enjoyed studying English with Sylvia. She has a great personality and good teaching style. She always prepares new materials for every lesson, which must be tough. Thanks to her, I want to learn English more and more. Sometimes Sylvia and I have a big laugh during the lesson. Fun times go by so quickly!

Julie has been helping me relearn my french over the past few months. I immediately felt at ease with her kind but very effective teaching style. Julie is an excellent teacher and is always very encouraging. I have learned more with Julie alone than I did in my years of high school courses.

I had a beneficial experience with Mary as a tutor. The most important thing I would like to say about her "she is a very respectful girl". She came on time and explained many English lessons to me. Actually, she played a clear role in improving my English. Since I came here in the US and met her, she behaved as my friend not as my tutor only. Mary didn't help me in practicing English only, but she also helped me to find out information that related to my classes such as doing surveys and contacting with many American people. I really got fun time with Mary, and I would like to meet her again because I miss our enjoyable meetings.

About

I have a day job...but would like to start teaching on the side, not really out of necessity, but out of love of music, foreign cultures and children, and the desire to have more of those things in my life. I have a knack for teaching and it is something that always has come easily to me.

About

There are NO other classes in Portland that are as in-depth as what my classes offer. Some are more like shows for kids to watch but not geared towards the very young baby (which is when they should start signing). Nor do they include a dictionary which includes so many signs or goes into such detail to teach very specific scenarios of how to teach signs with special emphasis put on how to teach abstract signs.
