Shaun, Thank you for an outstanding experience. I cannot commend you enough, from your availability (phone, text and scheduling), to your professionalism, and ultimately your chef talent. From the first time we spoke Shaun assisted me in constructing an idea and an evening that was spot on to what I wanted. I gave Shaun only an idea of what I wanted and he was able to run with it and deliver above and beyond what I even imagined. The details of the event were a guy’s night theme for about 8 men who would be hungry and ready to eat. Shaun constructed a menu of hearty dishes that did not disappoint. This included - Large bacon wrapped shrimp - Smoked wings w/ blu cheese - Filet mignon sandwiches with arugula and a horseradish aioli - Lamp lollipops - Potato Salad - Spinach salad with bacon dressing - Baked beans - Corn bread w/ apricot honey butter Every item was a hit on its own. All of this together surpassed any expectations I could have set. Every dish used seasonings and ingredients that made it unlike any we have had before, showcasing Shaun’s talents as a chef. In addition to food preparation and execution Shaun, brought dishes and platters for a rustic guy’s night theme that added to the presentation and atmosphere. Last but not least, Shaun has a warm personality that makes it easy and comfortable inviting him into your home. For us, he blended right with the guys and was just another member of the group. I have no doubt Shaun could blend with any atmosphere at any event. I could not be more pleased with Shaun and Purple Plate, he will receive my highest recommendation and I will be looking for events to use him in the future.
I wanted to provide a special dinner for my mother's 89th birthday, for just she and a friend, in her assisted living apartment. I found six personal chefs on-line in Pittsburgh who sounded appropriate. Kimberley followed up from inquiry quickly, understood my idea, and sent me a detailed menu. We made some modifications and I felt confident moving forward. The cost was lower than some other personal chefs, and I felt it was reasonable. My mother reported that the dinner was presented with a flair, the service was wonderful and the food was delicious. She felt pampered and celebrated, which was my goal.
I found Chef Art through Thumbtack but I was not the person who hired him. However, I was a guest at the party. Such a wonderful, personable man. He was so kind to an impromptu 4 year old attendee, including her in some pasta making. Clearly she was adding work but he never batted an eye and made everyone really enjoy the experience. The food was FANTASTIC!!
Chef Bill came into our home and taught my 3 kids the basics of getting around the kitchen, how to properly use knives, saute chicken (or any protein), and we ended up with a fantastic chicken parm dinner. Everything went great! ----- John C from Shaler
Searching for a trainer was hard for me, I wanted someone who is educated and could answer any questions that came up. After finding him on the Tumbtack app, I noticed he had multiple degrees and he was also a chef! So I hired him and after the first day I could tell he was truly something special. His knowledge and his workouts are something I look forward to each week. I would have Nick live in my guesthouse if I could! That’s how good he is. He is always coming up with different workouts and is always supplying me with healthy recipes to cook right after our workouts! He is fantastic and I couldn’t recommend him more!

I am well versed in organic food puree and baby food prep. I prepare gluten free options routinely for the sisters and priests with many dietary restrictions at my convent accounts. I coach adults with high functioning autism at OLSH. My wife works as a Behavior Specialist and i volunteer with her. So while i have no direct care experience with children on the autism spectrum, i do have a lot of time interacting and teaching children and adults with different challenges. I work 7-2 Mon-Fri.
