We have been students of the Piano Workshop for 7 years. Mark, the director, does a great job at matching students with teachers and is very accommodating to work with scheduling lessons especially with families that have very full schedules. We enjoy the recordings done at every recital and they make a good teaching tool as well. There are lots of teachers of various disciplines so students of all musical talents can benefit at the Piano Workshop. It's a professionally run outfit that I would recommend to all families.

Hands down, Mr. Davis is the BEST teacher I've ever had. He is kind and patient, he pushes you and makes sure you understand the material before moving on. I only wish I didn't procrastinate to start lessons. What are you waiting for!? Call and make an appointment !

Dr. Framil has been providing private cello lessons for my son for the past 3 years. He is the 4th teacher we have had, and is by far the best. He has been an attentive and motivating teacher. My son often comments that Dr. Framil is able to identify and clearly communicate which areas need more work, and how to tackle that. He mentored my son through selection of his first owned cello - a big investment for any musician. We would recommend Dr. Framil without reservations.

I have no complaints regarding my cello lessons with Conor. He is very attentive to even the smallest of details and knows exactly what I need in order to continuously improve. It is evident that he puts a lot of thought into lesson preparation each week. I'm never bored in my lessons, either; there's always something new and exciting to learn. I definitely made the best choice in selecting Conor as my teacher.

Miss Morelli has been working with my son as his private cello teacher for a few years now. I knew she was the right teacher for my son right away. She built a positive rapport with him and motivated him in ways that I could not as a parent. Miss Morelli was able to pinpoint his strengths and weaknesses and found creative ways to help him grow as a cellist. My son has been able to audition successfully to different organizations under Miss Morelli's guidance. She is the best we've had so far!

Have you always wanted to play the cello? Do you have a child who is showing interest in music? Private lessons can make a huge difference and will take a student much farther than group lessons and orchestra classes at school can. Dedicated and one-on-one instruction helps shape and focus skills like nothing else! I am a cello instructor located in South Philly. I have a BFA in cello performance and have been teaching lessons for 8 years. As a performer, I work in diverse settings, from professional orchestral experience during my time in the Midwest to theater and dance accompaniment in Philadelphia. A keystone of my work has always been performing with bands. I have recorded on 20 albums and toured extensively with projects spanning a broad spectrum of genres. In the short time since relocating to Philadelphia, I have established myself as an educator all over the city. I am a teaching artist with Play On, Philly! as well as the cello instructor at the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr. My teaching style puts a focus on realizing musicality and expression through proper playing technique. Playing for hours shouldn't be hard on your body! I work to make my students comfortable at their instruments so that their musical intentions can shine. I am a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher, and I look forward to meeting some new cellists!

I have been studying music and learning to play the saxophone with Mary for a year. I have been through many music teachers in my life as I used to play the piano since i was 10 years old. Most of the music teachers I have found are only interested in teaching how to play the instrument. Mary not only teaches the finer things about your instrument of choice but brings to it her overall knowledge of music theory, holistic studies, and her love of God and is able to wrap it all together where you know without a doubt music is definitely a gift from God. The one thing that truly amazes me about Mary is she takes the time to gets to know you, your personality, what techniques enable you to learn the best, your experiences and background and is able to intertwine it with her knowledge and experience and brings about a whole new understanding that I have never experienced before with other music teachers. What touches me the most and demonstrates that Mary really is concerned about the individual coming to a wonderful understanding about music is that she prays for each of her students before a lessons and ask God to help her communicate what that particular person needs to understand that day and how through music she can glorify our Lord and Saviour. I truly am blessed to find and work with Mary. She definitely brings about a whole new world in music.

Robert Bradshaw is not only the best violin instructor I've ever met but he's also one of the best men I have ever met. Mr. Bradshaw owns his own Haddonfield business in which he is surrounded by an extremely competent staff, which is filled with other instructors teaching instruments such as cello, violin, piano and more. Whether you are a parent interested in having your child learn an instrument or an adult who would like to learn an instrument or enhance your skills, you can't go wrong with Maestro Studios. Bradshaw stands out above all other music instructors because of his passion, enthusiasm and love for his job. You or your child's specific schedule or musical needs will be met. And to keep your interest in you or your child's instrument, Rob Bradshaw puts on great recitals and concerts and you or your child can even be part of the the pit orchestra for the local theater academy's shows. Reasonably priced lessons, great instructors, and incredible experiences.

Helen Martin's extensive experience as a teacher has really paid off for me. Her understanding of technique continues to expand my security in performance and she always is able to offer an expressive, musical solution to any question. But her major skill may be in keeping it light. I know that each lesson will present a new challenge and that I will welcome her approach.

We have been thrilled with Sunny! I was looking for someone to teach my 15 year old piano, and was incredibly lucky to find Sunny. In addition to her flexibility she and reasonable rates, Sunny has an incredible educational background and knowledge base. She has been a fun and engaging teacher for my daughter, and her cheerful personality gave her an instant rapport with my teenager. In the few months that she has taught my daughter, I am amazed at the progress I have seen.

We have 30 years of experience teaching private music. Lessons are available on flute, clarinet, oboe, sax, piano, guitar, voice, violin, viola, cello, trumpet, trombone and recorder. Student recommendations: "Our daughter started taking lessons, and in just about 3 months, we began to observe the progress our daughter was making. The music lessons were made easy and enjoyable, and soon our daughter began developing a great interest for music." "My daughter wasn't satisfied with her previous instructors, but she feels a lot more comfortable with her lessons now. I am very impressed with my daughter's accomplishment, which is due to her instructor's patience and expertise. She has proven to be a remarkably effective and motivated music instructor. Even our family's friends also speak highly of taking music lessons here." "During the time our daughter studied with you, she held you in high regard. Her opinion was borne out several times; at her audition for The Boston Conservatory, students literally stopped in the hallways to listen to the sound of her playing from behind the closed audition door. Furthermore, in her recent audition, the panel commented that her training was exceptional. You have made music a part of her, and enriched her beyond our meager abilities as parents. She had become tired of music, of being a musician, but you rekindled her desire to study music. In her words now, 'Music is my life!'" "My son's musical experience has been turned into a positive one. In 5th grade, he did not want to continue, so I found a teacher to help him catch up. What a difference. The teacher's positive attitude, patience and genuine love of music and working with kids soon became evident. Although, I don't know much about music, I came away impressed by the way she taught the mechanics and care of the instrument, and the technical and emotional aspects of playing the music. I wholeheartedly recommend this music teacher, who has the knowledge and experience, and teaches with enthusiasm and joy. I am thankful that we have had her as a music teacher over the past 4 years." "My daughter has been studying with this teacher for almost a year. In that time, I have watched as her technique and confidence improved dramatically. After a few months, her teacher's confidence in my daughter inspired her to audition for her school honors band. She not only made the honors band, but also placed 3rd chair out of 6. The prior school year, she lacked the confidence in herself to even try out. Her teacher is an enthusiastic teacher who takes great joy in her pupils' successes. I would definitely recommend her as a teacher." "My daughter's private teacher has been a great instructor with teaching the skills and techniques needed to achieve the goals my daughter has always wanted as a pianist. My daughter not only learned to read the notes, which she did not learn well with her previous instructor, but she can now play fluently the songs that she can enjoy. I truly recommend her, as she is very patient and enthusiastic about music. She is very responsible and communicates with the parents on scheduling to ensure that we are aligned with our time schedule. Finally, we thank her for making every piano lesson my daughter has enjoyable." "We happily give this oboe instructor our recommendation. During your time as Adrian's oboe and clarinet teacher, he has learned quite a lot on scale and counting, and now he can play comfortably in the school concerts. I must thank you so much for granting Adrian an opportunity to perform in your well-planned recital. Adrian has grown more confident to play his musical instrument." "This letter is my personal recommendation for our daughter's private music instructor. She has been my daughter's music instructor for several years. She is both very bright and quite dedicated. I am amazed at the ease with which Sharon can perform a variety of instruments. She is organized, very efficient, extremely competent, and has an excellent understanding with her students. My daughter was not satisfied with her previous instructors, but she feels a lot more comfortable with her teacher now. I am very impressed with my daughter's accomplishment; it is due to her patience and expertise. Our family's friends also speak highly of her. She has proven herself to be a remarkably effective, motivated music instructor. I strongly believe that her motivation, abilities and experience make her an excellent candidate. I would highly recommend her for your organization. Thank you very much." "I have a fourteen year old and an eleven year old who, under this teacher's tutelage, have not only really enjoyed working with her, but the knowledge she instills in them is beyond comparison. We started out taking lessons in a music store, and the environment made my children want to stay in the car until their lesson was called. The owner was a witch. Later, we began to take lessons with this teacher in her home studio and what a difference! Her teaching style and the environment was such a wonderful improvement. My children have come to appreciate music because of her. They have come out of their lessons saying, "Mom, I did well and she made me feel wonderful." If I were you, I would say I would want a teacher such as her. She is warm, caring, knowledgeable, instills a love of music, music theory, and music appreciation. She is the best! She will make you proud for choosing her, and I would be proud saying to you that you made the right decision. Please consider her for her outstanding ability. She is trustworthy and diligent, another two traits for which she stands out above the rest." "Our daughter has been taking piano lessons for the last 5 years. After her first 3 years, her first teacher discontinued teaching and this was when we were introduced to this wonderful person and a committed music teacher. Our daughter started learning piano from her, and in just about 2 to 3 months, we began to observe the progress our daughter was making. She made the music lessons easy and enjoyable, and soon, our daughter began developing great interest for music. As we started interacting more with her, we learned that she also taught many other musical instruments apart from piano. This summer, she held a recital concert, where many of her students got a chance to perform. It was wonderful to listen to children play on the piano, violin, guitar, cello and flute, but what was truly amazing was that all of them were students of one teacher. She is truly talented, devoted, thorough, professional and a great teacher. She is always smiling and has a very pleasing personality. Our daughter adores her. We are very lucky that our daughter is learning music from such a terrific person."

Make the students learn having fun

          About

I am a Philadelphia based musician who plays guitar and cello full-time. I am also proficient in piano, drums, bass and brass. I have played in over 10 states as well as internationally. I studied music for five years at the Pennsylvania State University and have been playing music as a career for six. I absolutely love spreading my passion and joy of music to others and strive to push every student to his/her fullest potential. I get the highest amount of enjoyment out of playing music live as a living, but if there is one thing that makes me even happier than that, it is being able to open up the doors for a student to share in that same experience. Whether it be rock, classical, hip-hop, or whatever style of music you love, I want every student to be able to express himself/herself through this wonderful art.

          How much are cello lessons?

Cello lessons are a great way to anchor and guide your cello practice, regardless of your skill level. From top symphony performers to first-time music students in elementary school, cello lessons correct your flaws and help your strengths shine. The cost of cello lessons will vary, depending on the reputation and experience of your teacher, the length and frequency of your lessons, and where you live. Students who have regularly scheduled lessons and pay in advance often pay less per lesson than drop-in students who schedule lessons as needed. Here are some examples of average cello lesson costs:

            • Cost for drop-in lesson: $35.

How hard is it to learn to play the cello?

Taking cello lessons can be a rewarding experience for students young and old. The rich sound of the cello is well-loved in classical music and is found in all genres of contemporary music from modern folk to rock. As with any instrument, how hard it is to learn to play cello depends on the practice and dedication you put into it. It’s true that some people are naturally more adept at learning instruments than others, but with lessons and a daily commitment, you too can learn to play the cello.

Cello lessons can be a smart investment, especially for new players. Even professional cellists benefit greatly from ongoing training, but for those new to cello it’s especially important for forming a strong foundation for playing. From the proper posture to understanding finger positions, regular cello lessons give you a benchmark to measure your daily practice against.
