I have to say to myself, Why haven't I done this sooner. On Friday night we had a ladies night, 5, and Tony prepared 5-6 dishes and each one was amazing, delicious. He prepares well by asking all the right questions regarding the group he is preparing for and then executes it exquisitely!! I can't wait to plan my next event with Tony and I will also be doing some cooking classes with him. Tony from all of us ladies on Fri May 29th we thank you so such a wonderful special evening.

T.A.Z.went above and beyond when accommodating for a gluten allergy. The food was absolutely delicious & no one could tell it was gluten-free which is really an amazing thing! My daughter was so happy that she was at a party that she was able to eat more than just a salad. She also served non-gluten free food that I heard was just as delicious. I would definitely recommend T.A.Z. catering!

Linda catered my wedding reception at the Haddonfield Fortnightly. It was a spring Saturday evening. I cannot say enough good things about her. She was excellent in helping us figure out tables and seating for the Fortnightly. And the evening went flawlessly. The food was delicious (and my husband and I actually got to eat because they served us at our Sweetheart Table, even though it was buffet). Linda kept in touch with us through out the night to see if we needed anything. She also provided a couple of our guests with gluten-free meals. I would highly recommend her.

Michele was just what we needed!! My 14 year old son loves cooking and is gluten free. We wanted to give him some one on one lessons. Michele did not disappoint. She has met with him 3 times so far and we can't wait to get her on the books for more. She has taught him so much already. The best part was after they are done their lesson, my entire family has a wonderful meal to eat.

Ygnacio Alena recently catered my daughter and future son-in law's Engagement Party we hosted at our home. We had a large crowd of about 65 people and couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. He showed up with an efficient staff who were very personable. And at the end of the night, my kitchen was clean! Our guests all commented on how delicious the food was! We have used Ygnacio in the past and we will definitely use him in the future!! I would highly recommend him to cater your party!

Frances Rose is a pleasure to be around in the kitchen, and just one taste of her creations will have you asking for more. Every dish I have experienced has blown me away. My last meal with her was vegan gluten-free pumpkin acorn pancakes and fresh homemade horchata (and chocolate rice milk, and vegan Mexican Hot Chocolate, because the food processor was so much fun). She has a deep passion for food and flavor, and even more so for the energy that she gets to put into it. When I am helping her prepare meals (for friends and family, or for the Community Supported Kitchen she runs), she keeps herself organized and focused. She is always ready to share insight into the ingredients we are preparing, tips on how to prepare them, and maybe even a story or two about her personal connections with them. I have watched her keep a dozen people on task, which can feel overwhelming in a kitchen, yet she does so with a pleasant gentleness, out of a joy of co-creating with others. She has the tools, the knowledge, and the enthusiasm to share her gifts with the world. I would recommend her culinary skills to anyone.

My two granddaughters and I spent two wonderful days with Marie learning about gluten free and vegan recipes. It was an enlightening experience to spend time with them and give them the opportunity to enhance their Iives with delicious natural foods. Highly recommend!!

My experience with Troy's Personal Chef service was spectacular. Chef Troy is very professional and knowledgeable. My family and I follow a gluten- free and vegetarian diet, which most restaurants are not able to accomodate, but Chef Troy was very knowledgeable in this area. I was truly impressed with the meals and weekly menus Chef Troy prepared for my family and immediately recommended him to friends and family members. I highly recommend Troy's Personal Chef Service for any dietary lifestyle.

Lynn Tonelli prepared exquisite meals - she is a superb cook, trained formally in culinary arts and with considerable real world experience. She was also able to accommodate various dietary restrictions such as Gluten-Free with absolutely no one ever noticing ,,,

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
