Stephanie J. Beavers is a superb editor. I wanted my book to be in my own voice, with my own cadence and rhythm, and she did what all first-rate editors do: she tuned her ear to mine. As my editor, she patiently corrected my poor grammar, punctuation, spelling, and word choice. She gave me different phrases to choice from if mine were awkward or stilted. She helped me format my book, putting in headers, section breaks, and an index. She proofread my manuscript, pointing out confusing statements. It was a joy to write a draft of my book, but the editing—I entered that phase with some apprehension. But working with Stephanie made the editing easy. Sure, there was a lot of work by the both of us, but for me there was the joy of seeing my book slowly, step by step, coming to fruition with her help. I have a book on Amazon that I’m very happy with, thanks to Stephanie.

Hi hired Derrick and Blue Square Writer's studio for the final edit of my vampire novel. The decision to hire was based on both his professional response to my initial post, as well as the reasonable price he offered for the service. And I don't mind saying that I definitely got my money's worth from his edit. He covered the basics, correcting my grammar and spelling, but also provided positive critical feedback regarding character and story development, helping me to shape my manuscript into a strong and marketable book. I look forward to working with him on future projects, and I can absolutely recommend his service for writers of fiction, like myself.

If you needs words - to be written, edited or both, I can do that for you or with you. I have worked with beginning writers, experts who don't write, great storytellers who need strong editing and all by myself, dedicated to make your project sing. With more than 15 published books (from Chicken Soup for the Soul's The Cancer Book to The Intelligent Divorce to The Boy Behind the Door: How Solomon Kool Escaped the Nazis), I have a unique skill set to work with a variety of subjects and personalities.

Kate is easy and fun to work with. She has an intuitive approach. She is a good listener. I interviewed 6 writers (1 in Canada, 5 in US) before talking with Kate and I decided to go with Kate for 3 reasons: 1- her high-quality is worth more than its cost. 2 - she leaves nothing on the table, she is going to write it out and in a timely manner; without delay. 3 - her interview for my bio write-up was so thoughtful. Meaning, at one point I said to Kate, "I was hoping you were going to ask me about that." I've included a picture of my bio. The best part about working with Kate on my bio is that she aspires to capture your story and her writing technique is so good that whatever your story her writing adapts. Just know, if you work with Kate she is going to nail it! #thumbtack

Mark Vanderpool was professional and understanding about my book. He accepted my request to have an introduction call prior to the possible hire; which I truly appreciated it. This was my first time hiring an editor. This is my first book so I was not at all comfortable with trusting someone with my newborn (manuscript), but it needed to be done. Mark understood and was so kind and patient with all my MANY questions and CONCERNS. He willingly opened up to me about his professional background and vast experiences in this profession which put me in a much needed comfort zone. He finds pleasure in assisting people like us (writers). He embraces new projects/stories. He really does!!! He polished and refined my book. I could tell that he focused on my story and respected my way of writing. He offered advice and shared his opinion about what I may want to think about revising...than he provided an example. He acknowledged major points of my story and provided comments on areas to draw attention to and places where my audience should focus. I recommend Mark Vanderpool for your next project. Awesome Experience! I would definitely hire him again.

I was initially impressed with Lucie's writing samples and decided to give her a shot. The work she turned in for that first assignment so impressed me that I've turned to Lucie numerous times for features (both for print and online). Lucie's been terrific to work with, submitting her articles well before deadline and always top-notch in creativity and style. I highly recommend her. - David Cohea, editor, ReMIND magazine

Tiffany's work has been amazing. Joining the "Writing Career Coach" website has helped me more then I thought possible. The amount of information she gives to support new and veteran writers has been invaluable to me. As a new writer I'm thankful to have a professional who is supportive, gives me thought provoking insight, and is one of the nicest people I've ever met.

She was quick to respond to my messages and we were able to come to an agreement on both price and timeline for completion. I just needed my thesis edited for grammar and punctuation, but she found a few other mistakes I was not aware of. Upon completing her edits, she wrote up a summary of the results as well as a list of things that I should be on the lookout for in my document. After her edits, she was able to be contacted by phone for clarification and last minute questions. Overall I thought my thesis was well edited for a fair price. The meaning is still there in my own words, but now the grammar is correct.

David had responded to a Craigslist post I had made requesting the services of a writer to formulate my artist biography for publicity purposes. Amidst a slew of amateur responses, the professional demeanor in which David initiated our correspondence made me realize he might be the one, but that he would probably be far beyond my budget. I had never had a proper artist biography before and was overwhelmed by the process, but David guided me through with a fool proof, open-ended survey that would help me describe my life experiences as well as my history as an artist in a succinct manner. He assured me that he would know how to edit my lengthy responses since the survey was the same one he'd become accustomed to using for his company as editor-in-chief of MUTE Magazine, and he was right! When I received the final product, I was astonished! David's turnaround time was so prompt, and he was welcoming of any additional edits I had in mind. When I braced myself for the cost of the bio, David surprised me once again by not bursting my budget, and even asking if he could feature me in his magazine! As I've gotten to know David since our chance meeting, I've learned that he is genuinely the professional that he exudes on a daily basis. By hiring him, you will get the quality you desire with no corners cut!
