I have gotten a series of guitar lessons from Stevie. The progress I've made is amazing. If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere to ask questions and learn to play guitar, Matthews is your guy. He is passionate about music and your ability to get better. I'm very excited to continue to learn more.
Quick response.. Exactly what I was looking for in guitar lessons. Everyone was very helpful. Thank you.
I knew nothing about music except that I loved listening to it since I can remember, Upon my retirement from education and at the encouragement of my 7 year old grandson who was taking guitar lessons, I also began guitar lessons with Eric. In the few months that I have been his student, Eric has demonstrated his superior knowledge of music, outstanding ability to teach using a variety of methods as well as much patience. I highly recommend Eric as a teacher to anyone wanting to learn about music and how to play guitar.
Amazing. Genesis has taught me so much about music. She's taught me how to play piano and guitar, and voice. She has also helped me understand music on a whole different level. She's also taught me how to be confident. And if I am confused on something, she will go slowly, and go through the steps and help me understand it.
When I started lessons with Larry, I had been taking guitar lessons for three years under a learn by learning songs method. I didnt know exactly what I needed, but I knew that I wanted get deeper into music, both theoretically and in my guitar work. I tend towards a combination approach of intellectual and emotional, and I value doing things well, and seeing its link to the larger picture of music. When I pursued Larry as a teacher, I realized I was taking a next step. What I found in Larry as a teacher and person is an expert in blues music and in how to teach music, particularly guitar. He has piqued my intellectual interest and challenges me to keep learning both the guitar techniques and theory. I didnt know exactly what I was looking for, but this was ita Peabody Institute-quality education mixed with blues experience, theory and then throw in endless stories about music from the sixties onward, because Larry was there. You can read his bio for all of the things hes done, and theyre numerous, but I keep learning more. Most importantly, though, Larry is a great teacher. I trust Larry, and I know he sees something in me. He is a cheerleader-style coach, but an honest one. I know that when Larry tells me that I have potential or talent in a certain area, that hes telling the truth. Hell be just as honest when Im not doing something well, also. Larry has a system that works, and he knows how to teach it and adapt it to my style of learning. My understanding of music, my ear especially, has grown leaps and bounds since taking lessons from himI no longer feel frustrated, like Im missing something. I know that if I continue to practice what he is teaching me, I am going to be an expert at guitar and will perform publicly. Larry is an amazing resource, a wonderful teacher, a composer, and a pretty funny guy. Most importantly hes serious about, and seriously involved with and expert in musiches inspired me and hell inspire you.
Williamson is doing an excellent job teaching me to play the guitar. Each week I am learning not just notes and chords but also the theory of them and how they apply to the guitar. He has the ability to understand my current level and give me the desire to push myself to get to the next level.
Dave is an excellent music teacher. My daughter has taken piano lessons for 8 years and hasn't lost interest. He always tries to give her music that is both challenging and of interest to her. She has really learned a tremendous amount over the years.
Max Kuzmyak is a very knowledgeable musician with a large skill set that is useful in the music industry. He can teach trumpet, guitar, voice, and has extensive theory knowledge as well. He is also well versed in recording and audio engineering. Max is very friendly, easy to work with, and professional. I would highly recommend working with him if you are looking for a private teacher, or a recorder.
As an older student who has been playing for thirty-plus years with very little professional instruction, I had concerns about not being able to find a guitar teacher who would be able to break me of my worn-in bad habits. It has been very easy communicating my interests and concerns with Kevin, and his wealth of knowledge of music is very apparent. His approach to teaching is very casual but still maintains direction. My instruction so far has included in-depth scale exercises across the fretboard, music theory & chord construction, popular and classic chord progressions in several genres, exercises in well-known guitar method texts, and just learning how to play a favorite old song. I am always looking forward to my weekly lesson, as does my ten-year-old daughter who has just begun her lessons with Kevin.
Anthony is a great teacher who offers clear, concise instruction that will help you truly understand how to play guitar.
Alex has been a patient and attentative guitar teacher for my two young children ages 5 and 7. He keeps them engaged and interested throughout their entire lesson. It takes a special person to be able to work with very young children.
I've been playing guitar as a hobby for over 30 years. During this time, my playing always took a back seat to my family and work obligations. For several decades it seemed my playing had stagnated at a level of mediocrity that I was not pleased with. Once my kids entered college and I found myself with more free time on my hands, I started taking lessons with John. Ive been a student of Johns for almost three years now, and my playing has improved tremendously. In addition to my own personal experience with John, I recommended him to a friend of mine who is in his late 30s, and had no prior musical experience of any kind. My friend has been a student of Johns for almost two years now, and Ive seen his playing progress at a very impressive rate. John is a great instructor and a great guy, and I highly recommend him as an instructor for players of all skill levels.
Great Experience. My son enjoys playing guitar.
As an older student who had never really picked up the guitar (and is not at all musically inclined), Jason made learning approachable and catered to my specific needs and learning style. He is able to neatly wrap together theory and practical drills in conjunction with songs I want to learn. Jason has a seemingly endless well of ideas in which to tap to help break through ruts or "musicians block". Even when I have to travel for work, Jason creates ways for me to learn even if I don't have easy access to my instrument. I have been a student of Jason;s for years and he is always ready with a quick joke, empathy, and a sense for how to teach to what my needs are at that moment. It is an incredibly rare mix of all the perfect traits someone could want in an instructor. I give Jason the highest of recommendations without a shred of hesitation.

Lessons tailor made to the students desires to grow on an artistic and technical level. I examine where the student is and cultivate a wholistic learning environment that covers more than just technical proficiency on the instrument.
No two students are alike... my instruction reflects this. I tailor each lesson to the musical needs of the student, as well as the emotional needs--the source of excitement, and motivation. I teach modern music ensembles (small groups of varied styles)... I know what is needed to play with other people, skills needed to CREATE with other people...and much of my instruction addresses these disciplines. I believe that LEARNING BY DOING/PLAYING is just as beneficial to the experience of music as the "one on one" and "alone time" is...the time it takes to be conversational on their chosen instrument.
