Bulent is a great singing teacher because of his personality and pedagogy skills.
Bulent's personality is very jovial. He laughs a lot and makes you feel comfortable as soon as you step into the studio. No matter how good a teacher is, if you don't feel comfortable around them -- you won't be able to learn as much as you should from them. Bulent made me feel comfortable enough to ask dumb questions (some really, really dumb ones) and not feel judged for it.
From the first lesson, it's clear Bulent is a different type of teacher. His pedagogical techniques revolve around making sure his students understand the "big idea". For example, he teaches you how a sound is produced from your voice and why it's important to have this understanding when singing. It almost feels like he could teach an anatomy class, his understanding of your body as an instrument is vast and impressive.
Bulent also gives you homework or drills to help sing in-rhythm and sing in-pitch. After just a few lessons, I went from not being able to sing anything to singing (and recognizing) pitches to my favorite song. I highly recommend Bulent for anyone wishing to start singing.
The only suggested improvements for his lessons are the following:
1. Consider making it optional for students to use a mirror when practicing singing. It's difficult for students with self-image issues to constantly look at themselves in the mirror.
2. Consider making it optional to record the lessons. It is just impractical for some to review every recorded lesson.
