Nothing could be better, absolutely nothing. Ms. Sara is the best! I am ecstatic about my lessons with her. She is so observant and aware of who I am as a piano student. I suppose I came to her with a slightly unique situation, I am able to play but have no idea how to read notes and music. She is working extensively to help me bridge the gap between the technique and theory and my overall output. We've only just started but already I am beginning to understand so many aspects about the written music that I never understood before. She breaks down the material so well! The best part is that we are working side by side between the simpler lesson books and the more advanced songs I am wishing to play properly. For instance, I already can play (with many technical errors) the Turkish March. So between the basics I'm learning in the lesson books, Ms. Sara is showing me the same theories behind this more complex song. I'm now understanding certain aspects of how to play it properly and I have no doubt that within a few more sessions I will be able to play it as it should sound. Ms. Sara is honestly the best piano teacher I could have found. My only wish is that I had discovered her sooner!
Hello, my name is Reginald Bascom. I've been playing guitar since I was 10 years old while also going through school as a gifted and talented child, which is also known as GT classes. Throughout the past ten years, I've taken time to study hundreds of different subjects, theories, social sciences, and language arts while still nailing A and C minors while being lead vocalist of the band.
I play and have interest in more styles of music than most instructors, giving the student the opportunity to see music and approach it from several angles.
I teach keyboard lessons to those who want to be taught. I'm just giving back what I have discovered as a musician and hope to change someone else's life.
I have been teaching private lessons since 1983. I hold two degrees in music.
I personally have a very logical and methodical process approach to teaching. My goal is to help the subject matter make sense and the student understand the "Why?" behind what is being imparted. At the end of the day if the student retains the skill I am teaching then I feel like I have succeeded in my job.
I give half hour and hour lessons to children and adults understanding that often adults need a different kind of schedule than children. My focus is really on learning how to play music, not just notes.
I have taught preschool children as well as adults. I also play by ear, and I am appreciative when a student shows talent outside of the written music. This gives me the opportunity to help them develop their own creativity in addition to reading music properly. My main level of interest is beginner to intermediate.
