Brad tiled our new shower. It is 6" diagonal on the top with a 5" mosaic glass border and 12" running bond on the bottom. He built 3 niches and tiled them so they blended with the wall tile. Very meticulous and conscientious work. He will do it exactly the way you want it done as long as it is the done the right way. He will not be done till you are happy with the job. Brad is a great guy to work with honest and honorable. You will not go wrong in hiring him for your next project. He will keep you informed of when he will be there, when he is on his way. You will not be kept up in the air wondering what is going on when or if he is coming. Bottom line great guy, easy to work with, great work, and beautiful tile work. We normally do the work our self, but it was worth the money paid X10 to half it done right and beautiful.

These folks are the very best in all aspects of doing business with. They listened to our concerns and offered valuable insights into what they thought would work better for us. The work was very professionally done and the attention to detail was absolutely outstanding. As this was a very old home, there were numerous issues that showed up along the way, and they were handled perfectly with no extra charges or complaints. They kept our home clean in all this process, and did their very best to not inconvenience us any more than necessary. The work was completed within the estimate and there were no surprises at the completion of the job. I would also like to say that J.D. and Lynn are really nice people that are not only very professional, but they are also a pleasure to be around and we trust them completely with our home. One final note, their employees were always courteous and shared the same professionalism that J.D. and Lynn shown through the entire process I might mention that it was a complete kitchen remodel with new cabinets and tile, and electrical and lighting upgrades along with moving our laundry appliances upstairs after converting an old pantry to a laundry room. You cannot go wrong in using Complete Solutions for any project around your home, no matter how complicated or difficult it may seem.

I hired Joe to replace parquet, carpet, and tile flooring with wood-look porcelain tile in my new home. I was completely comfortable handing him the key to the house and letting him work when I wasn't there. It was quite an extensive job, covering about 2000SF, with multiple types of flooring to remove, and a lot of leveling and problems to correct. He did an incredible job and I couldn't be happier with the results! In fact, I've already hired him to build out a shower bench and tile the shower and floor in a bathroom in another part of the house. I apologize for the photos-I didn't take the best photos to highlight the floors!

Scott has done a wonderful job for us with landscaping our sloping backyard. He is currently laying a paver patio for us and we plan to have him landscape our sloping front yard as well. He has been great with his communication and is quick to take on new tasks.

Mike built a tile walk-in shower in our basement. This involved moving a toilet which I didn’t know could be done. It turned out beautiful. He also completely renovated our master bathroom. Again, he was able to solve building issues and give us exactly what we wanted. We now have a large soaking tub with porcelain tile walls and surround. He handled all the electrical and plumbing. Outside resources handled the custom cabinets and vanity tops, and Mike brought it all together. He also installed a new cabinet in our laundry room with a new sink, faucet, and garbage disposal. There were other jobs that he did for us around the house. Some were updates to a 30-year old home, and the others were embellishments. One of the most important things about Mike is that we felt comfortable with him in our house even when we weren’t home. He is an honest family man. One thing that could be better—paperwork. Getting all the paperwork and receipts was a slow process. But I know he is converting to a new computerized system to handle this, so I would not expect this to be a problem in the future.

Brett's Roofing & Remodeling LLC performed repairs to my main roof and carport roof. In addition, repairs were made to the base of pillars which support the front porch. Cement was poured to fill the crack in the porch & provide support. Drain pipes were installed in the front & back yard to transport overflow of water pooling in the yard. Damaged carport support posts were replaced. Guttering was replaced and helmets were reinstalled. The work was done very efficiently. Overall, I was extremely pleased with my experience. Mr. Switzer was easy to communicate with. He explained what they were going to do and why. He did not do anything that did not need to be done. I will definitely consider his company for additional projects in the future.

Michael Beatty layed our vinyl plank flooring in our home like a pro! We had a little over 1000 sq/ft to cover and it only took four days of hard work. He showed up on time every day and traveled far to do our job. He and his helper worked hard all day long and worked clean. There was no mess to clean up after they were finished each day or at the end of the project. He wasted almost none of our product! Only tiny unusable scraps were thrown away. We ordered more flooring just in case there were miss cuts, but we had all that left over after Mike was finished installing. He ripped up our old carpet and hauled it away as well. He was very professional and knowledgeable about flooring installation and I would trust him to do ANY flooring type! I will definitely use Mike again should a need arise, and I completely recommend his services to anyone and everyone else looking for floor installation.

Very pleased with the work the guys at Miracle Repair did with our fence. We needed out fencing moved up so we could install a dog door, and they made it happen. They used our existing fence, so no new fencing was needed. We love our results and so do our animals. Looking forward to working with Miracle repair in the future. Thanks again!

Stacy had the hot tub and my cabin repaired in 1 day. He went above and beyond by going out and finding a new motor and installing it that afternoon. My renters were extremely happy to have the hot tub working. On the same trip, he repaired a broken bunk bed & chair. Sherry does the cleanings on my cabin and anytime I have a request from renters, Sherry is there to ensure it is taken care of!!! I highly recommend Stacy & Sherry Williams. I will definitely be using them on my future cabin needs.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to get tiling done?

You can install tiling on your floors, walls, counters, kitchen backsplash, outdoor patio and shower — to name a few places. Tile is beautiful, easy to clean, durable, and resilient against kids and pets. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Often, tile installation specialists quote a price per square foot for installation. Costs can increase if you want the pro to supply the tile instead of ordering it yourself. Other factors that can increase cost include specialized installation with a unique design that will require more labor to install.

Prep work will also affect tile installation costs. Demolition of the existing floor, counter or backsplash takes time and energy that will be reflected in the price. Necessary repairs, such as a sub-floor that needs bolstering before tile flooring can be installed, will also increase costs. For tile showers, one example of tile installation cost may be approximately $25 per square foot including all materials and labor. Average tile installation costs for backsplashes may run anywhere from $10 to $40, depending on the materials selected and the amount of labor required. The larger the area where tile is being installed, the lower the price per square foot will likely be. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for wood-look tile installation in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet.

How much does it cost to tile a shower?

The cost of tiling a shower depends on two main factors: the size of the shower and the quality of the tiles. In general, most professional tilers charge an average of $25 per square foot of tiled area and the national average cost for a tile installation project is $490-$750. The tiles themselves are the greatest variable; the cost depends on their size, shape, pattern and manufacturer. For example, tile purchased at a volume discount from a big-box store cost far less than tiles made in small batches by an artisan ceramics shop. Prices can range from as little as $1 to $50 or more per square foot of tile. Other factors that will drive up the total tile installation cost are grout and mortar, speciality tiles like bullnose caps or soap holders, and surface prep materials, especially if drywall needs to be replaced before the tile can be installed. Many tile installers will also remove and haul away any old materials from an existing shower installation.

How much does it cost to tile a bathroom?

Tile installation costs are a key part of your bathroom remodel costs. The tile you select (which can range from under $2 per square foot to $50 per square foot or more), the demolition and repair work required prior to installation, and the size of the job will all affect cost. You can install tile in the shower, on the counters, on the wall or on the floor. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Bathroom tile is easy to clean and durable for daily life. Here are some examples of average bathroom tile installation costs:

  • Tile installation at $25 per square foot of tiled bathroom area.
    • A standard tub and shower combo requires tiles for approximately 60 inches of length. Calculate wall height and add 30 to 36 inches of tub width for the walls at the head and foot of the tub. If the tile walls are 6 feet to 8 feet high, in this example, the tile installation costs would run about $2,000. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with an 8-foot ceiling: $1,450. Price includes materials.
  • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with a 10-foot ceiling: $1,650. Price includes materials.

How much does it cost to install a ceramic tile floor?

Tile installation costs for ceramic floors depend on the type of tile you select. You can purchase tile that sells for under $2 per square foot or tile that costs $50 per square foot — or more for artisanal and hand-painted tiles. The cost of labor to install a tile floor will also depend on the tile you select. It is far less labor-intensive to install a white 12-inch by 12-inch square tile than a 2-inch by 2-inch hexagonal tile with a distinct pattern. That extra time and energy equates to a higher per-square-foot installation cost. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for labor to install wood-look tile in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet. That same pro may charge $6 or more per square foot for a more intricate pattern, or a smaller space. Some installers may charge a minimum day rate for ceramic tile floor installation, such as $340 minimum per day, to cover business expenses and employee wages. If you’re looking to reduce costs, removing your existing flooring and handling any repairs needed can help eliminate prep work costs. Prep work may be charged per hour and could cost anywhere from $25 to $80 per hour or more, depending on the region and the type of repair work necessary.

How much does it cost to install tiles in a kitchen?

One of the most common kitchen upgrades is installing decorative backsplash tiles in the space between the counters and cabinets. It’s a chance for homeowners to get creative while also protecting the kitchen walls from splashes and stains. Like all tiling projects, kitchen tile project costs depend on the tiles you choose, installation materials such as grout and mortar, and any surface materials, like replacement backer board. The national average for a tiled kitchen backsplash is $490-$750. In general, pricing averages $10-$40 per square foot for installation, not including tile. Some professional tile installers have a minimum day rate for small projects, which averages $350.
