I took acoustic guitar lessons from Robert in my freshman and sophomore years of high school. He was always on time (even if I was not), and always had great lessons planned out for me. We worked at my own pace and learned songs I wanted to learn. He's an awesome guy.

As an adult, learning an instrument can seem overwhelming. But at Knoxville Academy of Music it isn’t. I found the instructors personable, caring, and positive. They don’t just want you to learn at KAM, they want you to love learning, and they truly provide the environment that makes that happen. Lessons are private and affordable and competitive. Best of all, though, Knoxville Academy of Music treats you like a family friend, rather than an appointment in their book.

About

I have several years of experience playing alternative, punk, rock, smooth jazz, acoustic and modern worship and church music, both in bands and solo. I have a passion for music, and my hope is that I can instill that in all of my students!

About

Hi, my name is Steve Schoen. I have been teaching drums for (5 years), playing (35 years and professionally for 11 years) and building drum kits (5 years). I have a degree in music from U.M.A. I am everything drums. I can teach rock, metal, blues and even jazz, pretty much everything but "orchestral" music. I also read drum charts and can teach drum notation. This is the deal, if you’re serious about playing, you already have drums at your residence or have access to a drum kit, I come to where your drums are -- no driving to music stores, schools etc. and waiting around for you or your parents. I give four 45-minute lessons a month (same day and same time every week) for $60.00. You will find that this is under the norm for any private music lessons. If I have to drive more then 10 miles both ways, there will be an additional charge for gas, but not for my time. My car gets 30 mpg. The first time is not a lesson per se but a meet-and-greet sort of thing that shows if I can help you with your drumming needs. The cost is $5.00.
