I am a 55 year old female. I have been taking lessons from Jill since around April 2016. OMG, she is the best teacher ever! She is very patient and fun! I just love playing duets with her! If you are looking for a piano teacher, look no further! Pick up up the phone and call Jill NOW!! p.s. Jill DOES NOT do piano recitals so NO pressure of performing :) Monica

I am a piano teacher myself, so I think I'm a pretty good judge of piano teaching. I'm also extremely particular (ask my husband and my friends)! Taylor Kroff is an exemplary piano instructor in every way. He's extremely qualified, gifted at teaching concepts, patient and professional. He is organized and structured in his teaching methods, which I really need. Bottom line - I'm loving my piano lessons with Taylor Kroff and I'm LEARNING!

My son just turned 7 when he started piano lessons with Taylor. It brings so much joy to watch him play piano with immense enthusiasm in such a young age. My whole family has been very impressed with how he developed his passion and dedication through Taylor's excellent instruction. I strongly recommend Taylor for doing a great job teaching and building good rapport with his students.

I have enrolled my 6 year old for violin lessons with Dolce Studio. Two Lessons and my son has taken a liking to the instrument and the teacher Ms.Emily is so encouraging & supportive. She knows how to draw out my son who can be very reluctant to try in the face of a difficult task. Thanks to the wonderful Brenda Bedell for all the initial ground work in setting up the violin teacher for us! Highly recommend the studio for music lessons.

I started going to Dolce for violin lessons as a beginner. They have been incredibly helpful and friendly through the entire process. The cost is very competitive and the instructor quality is outstanding making it the best value by far. It was immediately clear to me that the environment is passionate about teaching music and not just a business to make money.

Although Kristen specializes in teaching kids, she also is a great teacher for adult piano learners. We meet weekly for about 30 minutes. 30 minutes seems short, but it is actually quite adequate for a beginning piano player. I am impressed and glad I found Kristen. I look forward to continuing learning with her.

We had a free trial with Kristen and she was amazing! She has a variety of games she does with the kids keeping them very entertained. The kids have fun while learning. The kids both learned a song on their first lesson! She is GREAT!

I have only had one lesson with Damian so far, but I can see already that he is extremely knowledgeable and fun to work with. Just want to add that I have been taking lessons for 10+ yrs, with 8 different instructors so I do have experience forming judgments about the quality of the instruction I receive.

Andrew is flexible in terms of his time and in terms of meeting the student where they are. That said, he is also good about creating firm assignments for each lesson. We have enjoyed learning violin - our first foray into music - with Andrew.

Andrew is a masterful musician. He has a great sense of humor and tremendous patience. He is able to convey a lot of information and make learning the violin fun.

I took lessons with Paula for 3 months until she moved out of town. Paula is an excellent teacher, very knowledgeable of the fundamentals of piano and music theory in general. As an adult beginner, I was able to learn very fast with Paula thanks to her well-rounded approach to teaching. Moreover, she is a great person and I enjoyed spending time with her once a week. I highly recommend her.

Paula was my daughter's first piano teacher. My daughter was 6 years old when she started piano lessons. Paula did a great job in teaching her how to read and play music. Carla enjoyed every lesson and would still enjoy it if Paula hadn't moved to the East Coast. I can highly recommend her as a piano teacher for kids and adults!

Nick can play several different instruments fluently and is an amazing guitar player. He is also a really good instructor and does a great job of explaining the basics of guitar playing. Whether you are a beginner like me or more advanced and looking to improve you'd be hard pressed to find anyone better. He can hear in almost perfect pitch so whether it's vocals or instruments you're looking to learn you won't be disappointed. One thing I appreciate is that he's a no nonsense kind of teacher. He expects you to want to put in the necessary time and energy to improve. If you don't care enough to put in the effort then he won't hold your hand. He will make every effort to work out a schedule but if you flake or are not fully committed then he will not work with you. But if you are really serious about learning the guitar, keyboard, or vocals then you should definitely give him a call.

Ann H.

I have been taking guitar lessons from Nick recently, and he is great! Very patient and explains things in a way I can understand. Doesn't jump down your throat the way some instructors do. Know he also teaches voice and keyboard lessons, and believe they'd be a good bet too. I would definitely recommend him!!

Mrs. Dolan is an awesome instructor! From the time we met, I had a sense of a great teacher student connection. I am a recent retiree and one of my retirement goals was to invest in a piano and learn to play. This would be a challenge for sure; but Mrs. Dolan has accepted me as a challenge and I am expecting my love for piano music and Mrs. Dolan's teaching skills will fulfill my dream of playing the piano. The best is yet to come!!!

Sarah taught my forth child piano lessons for a year before she moved out of the area. My daughter loved her. Sarah's lessons were fun. Jess progressed quicker then her brothers because she actually enjoyed what she was learning. Sarah is excellent teaching all aspects of playing such as form, therory, technique, and how to correct errors. I really enjoyed listening to Sarah play because she plays with passion and my daughter was able to pick up on that too.

Sarah's attentiveness to my 3 children's piano needs has been excellent. She modifies her teaching plan to meet their needs, and she accommodates their differences in her style and the assignments she gives them. She's an accomplished pianist (this coming from me, a pianist) with an excellent touch and expression in her music.

My children have taken lessons from Robert for years now, one a beginning student and one with several years of training. We were looking for a teacher who could bring a fresh perspective to learning piano, with a good-natured spirit. We found these qualities in Robert— a creative and interesting approach to beginning piano, a gentle and thoughtful demeanor, and access to his own current work, which makes the repetitoir exciting. Robert is dependable, professional and trustworthy. We wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone wishing to begin or continue piano lessons.

Robert McDonald is one of the most accomplished pianists in Austin, TX, both as a performer and pedagogue. I have had the great pleasure of working with him on multiple occasions, and he has greatly exceeded my expectations in terms of preparedness, musicality, and professionalism. He is a kind and patient teacher who invests greatly in each student, and his technique as a performer and knowledge of the piano repertoire is second to none.

Robert is probably the best piano teacher I've had - he's certainly the one I've made the most improvements with and in the shortest amount of time. He has great technique, knowledge, and insights into the music and is equally great at transferring all of that. It's nice having a teacher that loves what he teaches - it definitely makes lessons much more enjoyable.

My 10 year old daughter has been taking piano and voice lessons from Deborah for the past year and she loves her! Deborah has helped her find music that she is passionate about learning and worked with her to play and sing with confidence in front of audiences. About

I am a Texas certified educator living in North Austin. I have always had a knack for helping others understand content material and for growing others' appreciations for a subject. My primary focus is music, but I have tutored across several subjects and age groups.

About

My teaching techniques really zero in on bringing out each student's individual and unique sound in as healthy a way as possible. I teach how to apply classical techniques to any style or genre of music to give you a supportive base to go from, or in other words give you all the rules and how to apply them so you know exactly how to bend them in order to achieve your style. I am strong in communicating these techniques to any age group. I regularly teach students ages 5-35. I do well to get the goal aspect of a lesson while keeping it fun and personalized. I also have a background in fitness and hold several certifications, so I understand the concepts of movement and alignment (such as Alexander technique) best to support your singing.

  • Cedar Park, TX

About

I teach children about the wonderful language of music in a fun and engaging peer setting. We learn music theory, how to read music/songs, and play musical games together to ensure the kids always want to continue learning.
