It was my first time using Thumbtack - My wife and I decided to look for a personal trainer. After going thru some choices that were narrowed down to our liking, we shot off rate/quote request to about 5 personal trainers nearby. To start off, what I liked about Zak was that I got a call from him IMMEDIATELY. Showed that he was serious, so I took the call and had a brief discussion on what we were looking for. Moving on to first meeting.. First meeting was free and during that time, he really took the time to get to know our needs, strengths, study our posture and make corrective suggestions. After the session, prices were discussed and on we go. There you have it - Simple, no hassle or obligation to we were signed up for his training. For people who are looking for a personal trainer, I know this can be a virgin territory. It certainly was for us. Zak understood that and took us from the basics. He offers nutrition programs (which is included in the rate for training - Can't be that). Nutrition program is designed for each individual and not that one plan fits all. My workouts are far different from my wife's workout. He has tremendous knowledge in what he is doing and is a dedicated student in learning more himself. Very respectful and a humble individual he is. We get weighed in end of every week and progress is recorded. You can really tell that he cares for your goals and not like other trainer that I've heard horror stories about, who only care about the money. With Zak, you are not just his paycheck - he truly cares for the well being. Zak being a powerlifter, he has shared many tips on better posture, better workout, and muscle recovery remedies. It's unusual for me to write a review online for anything, but when I know that I'm working with the best and with a person who is honest and genuinely cares for people, the least I can do is to pay it forward and let everyone know about what Zak has to offer. I wanted to share my story regarding results I have seen since working out with Becky. In Feb 2011 I had to have major surgery. Before my surgery I was 110 lbs. I have always been small and never had any trouble losing or maintaining my weight. That changed after my surgery. Within a year I gained 15 lbs. Which doesn't seem much to the average person but it was huge to me. I have worked out with 3 other personal trainers and did not see the results I have seen with Becky. Within 2 1/2 months of working with Becky I am back down to my pre-surgery weight. I never thought this would happen. I had come to terms with being larger than I have ever been my entire life. Becky's encouragement, energy and the balance between cardio and weights is what made the difference between the other trainers that I have used. I have told everyone I know about Becky and the results that I have seen. I have used 3 other personal trainers and Becky by far is the best. She is very comfortable to be around and I have already learned several new techniques. She combines cardio and strength training in a way that you do not really know you are doing cardio, which is my least favorite. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone is experienced and knowledgeable in personal training.
I have had few personal trainers in my quest to reach my goals in fitness for the past 3 years. So, this is not a new year resolution for me. Recently, my TWO!!!! different personal trainers have become a little hard to establish a routine. My overall progress in strength, cardio and flexibility have stalled. Having a bad lower doesn't help, but with a KNOWLEDGEABLE professional trainer, the sky is the limit. Enter here Adam Smith. He is what I was lacking to reach the next level. Adam was quick to communicate, easy to schedule and was on time. Today after my first session, I can tell I finally got a Professional Trainer, that knows his trade. The session was ALL fun, full of new challenges and most important safe to my lower back. The Kickboxing part was an eye opening fun experience. Having a Karate background, I felt back at home. Can't wait for the next session in 3 days. I guess that the saying: "Can't teach an old dog new tricks", doesn't apply to me. At 55 years young, I am ready to learn and kick some serious........ ;-) If you are stuck in your fitness journey or are looking for a lifestyle change, don't waste time and call Adam. After meeting Ruby, it doesn't seem that i hired just a personal trainer, it seems that i made a life long friend. Ruby and I met last summer. Last July I was desperately trying to shed the extra 40 pregnancy pounds but it seemed that i hit a plateau after loosing 20lbs. I still had 40 more lbs to go. Thats when ruby came in. I contacted her through thumbtack. She responded to my call almost immediately and we met the following Thursday. Now 6 months later i have reached my goal weight thanks to Ruby and her strict eatting changes ( don't like saying diet, because loosing weight should be more like making changes to eatting for the rest of my life). I finally fit into my pre pregnancy clothes. Ruby and i still keep in touch. She reminds me what's good for my body and health and she is very open to questions even after we are through with our sessions. Hiring Ruby as a personal trainer is worth the $ and time. I have worked with other trainers in the past and I never felt comfortable with anyone else, but Ruby was different.
Lori is a great personal trainer. She pushes me and is helping me get in shape. Lori is punctual and keeps the workouts fun. There is never a dull moment. I personally recommend Lori for anyone looking to work out with a dedicated trainer.
Cody is the best trainer ever. He pushes me, and challenges me. He is always positive and fun. Cody is patient and always educates. He is very smart and knows his stuff. Cody listens to your goals and sets clear objectives on how to obtain them. I would recommend him to anyone!
In the beginning, I was reluctant to work with a personal trainer because of my age (late 60s) & lack of physical conditioning. Haha! I was fearful that I would just end up being injured. Well, that fear was unfounded since this amazing man always just knows what's going to work for me. Once we got started, I began to enjoy many health benefits. Now, nearly two years later, I am still thrilled to be this "work in progress" & don't want this journey to ever end!
Personal Trainer, Fran Erlich, is the best kept secret in the DFW. Hands down!! I've been working out with Fran for about six years now and continue to be amazed with the workout programs she comes up for me. I worked out for years before I met her but Fran helped me put it all together...weights, cardio, and my diet. and I've never looked back. She's very hands on. Evan, Joey and Ted are GREAT trainers! Each one of them knows how to motivate you to give your maximum effort during a workout. Workouts are challenging and fun, and you NEVER do the same workout twice. I had numerous schedule changes over the summer and was able to train with each of these instructors, so I know they will all get you results! Class sizes are small and the rates are affordable. I highly recommend Tough Fitness!

i hired Janelle to help me tone my body for an upcoming trip to Hawaii. After 3 weeks, I have noticed a more toned body and increase in my physical abilities. Janelle is very professional, attentive, and flexible with my schedule. She incorporates nutritional advice into the workout plan to help you achieve your goals. Her clientele is diverse and consists of people that are overweight to athletes. I would recommend her to anyone looking for personal training.

Alix is a great personal trainer. He is extremely personable and patient. He started with an assessment to lay out a perfect plan for me. He always demonstartes exercises and makes sure that I understand the importance of each exercise. He is very flexible to work with my schedule. On top of that, he is someone who provides support and encouragement but not pressure. He also provided meal plans and nutritional information which is of great use. I would recommend him with no hesitation if you want to achieve your fitness/health goals.
I have had a few personal trainers in the past, but I've never had a trainer like Hanya before! She's very motivating to keep pushing you forward, and allows you to see that you can overcome any obstacle you have with hard work and determination. Ive been working out with Hanya little over a month and not only do I physically see the change, I've got the energy and motivation to keep moving forward. She's always ready to get things started when I arrive and if for some reason she's always able to work around it. I'd recommended anyone who is serious about getting healthy and in shape ( or better shape) to give Hanya a try! She has vast amounts of knowledge about how to work your body out as well as nutrition.
