My external hard drive was no longer reading. I had my family's pictures, videos, music all on it and thought it was lost forever. I was desperate and had been looking for someone to tune-up/repair my computer. On the way home from the doctors office I noticed a sign on a building that said Computer Repair. I whipped in, left my computer, picked it up four days later. It had the requested addition of memory but did not perform any better. Here I was with two non performing computers so I went out and purchased a laptop but I still had two non performing computers. My HP all in one of which I had been told by another repair shop that it had a bad hard drive. My XPS9000 that had all this new memory but was not performing well. I went on line, ran across Thumbtack, left a message, and forgot about it. The next day Harry calls, introduces himself, gave me an extensive backgound of his qualification, and a bid. I explained to Harry about my three computers and he wanted to take it one at a time so he started with the HP. The HP did not have a bad harddrive. Harry explained to me as to what was happening, explained that it could be repaired but as it was labor intensive better to just use it with the glitch. The Harry spent then next SIX hours cleaning up the inner workings of my computer. I had down loaded programs to tune and make my PC efficient and faster which was a total waste of money and did nothing. You would not believe all the STUFF that had to be removed, disabled, or enabled. I thought the HP was going to the recycle bin and now I have a computer that is actually better than when it purchased. Speaking of purchase. I call Harry the next day concerned about my bill as I had not received one when he reminded me we needed to check out the new lap top. THANKS TO HARRY and BLESS YOU HARRY I am no longer the owner of a laptop. Harry checked the laptop out and said it was a piece of junk and to return it immediately to the store. This was the second lap top to be returned to the store. As the first one had a bad hard drive. I would have limped along thinking it was me and not the laptop if not for Harry. Early this afternoon I returned the lap top and Office365 for a full refund. I told them Harry said it tested at a 1 and was a piece of junk. They plugged it in and five minutes later I had a receipt showing fully refunded. Harry will take on the XPS9000 in the near future when we can work out a time frame. I LOVE MY COMPUTER GUY and I say that as long as I have a computer I know who I can turn to for help. THANKS HARRY.
Great guy and very knowledgeable. The bad thing for us is that the problem was beyond help. The hard drive crashed and had to be replaced by Apple. He's prompt, courteous and I highly recommend.
Guy cut whole too big and then didnt tell me. Now I have to go out and get plaster to repair wall and to help coverlette stay on. Just fell off when I touched
Punctual, professional and hard working. Guys word long and hard to install a projector, 5.1 surround in ceiling speakers and 2 patio speakers. Guys were knowledgeable and did a good job in installation.
A Christian computer repair man who is fast and knowledgeable. John did what 2 very popular big name companies couldn't do (one said I needed a new mother board @ about $125. plus installation @ about $165) plus they charged me for trying to do the repair, the other only made the problem worse,no charge.... I brought my computer home and stored it for about 3 mo. then found JV Computer Repair what a blessing,he came to my home and repaired it. It now runs like new, all for a very low price.I can't say enough about the service he offered,but it was a lot like service you "used" to get when people cared about their reputation in the repair industry.Thank you John,I will use your service as long as I use computers ! We had a power surge and it did a fair amount of damage. Daniel did a great job getting us back up and running. He repaired a large 4k TV and revamped our entertainment cabinet.

Kyle is very easy to work with, he set up an appt. and was on time. We discussed my failing hard drive problem and the available solutions. We picked the best option and successfully installed a new Windows 10 drive and moved my data to the new drive. Kyle also told me how to keep my data safe and how to create a system image to save, protecting me for the future. I will gladly use him if the need aroses.
My external hard drive stopped working and then the USB port disappeared into the casing. I was devastated because years of work was in that hard drive and it was the back-up for my Mac that had broken. I investigated data recovery/repair options online and the quotes were at least $500. I was distraught. Then Thumbtack popped up in search results and I decided to give it a try. John responded promptly with a flat fee of $50, regardless of amount of work. Jeremy was phenomenal throughout the entire process. Although he never touted it, I now understand and am recipient of, the fruits of his efforts in getting a BA in IT with a concentration in Networking, GPA 3.56/4.0 and a Masters in Information Systems, IT, from the University of Phoenix, along with a variety of licences. Jeremy took great strides to understand my computer issues, running many tests from beginning to end, reflecting his need, not to mention desire for, accuracy and to find the best solution. In addition, he questioned if I had any photos or important material on my computer I wished to save first should there be any loss; he had a large external drive in his car he wished to transfer the material to for fear of losing it. This confirmed that he was not only proactive, but he knew how to connect the dots, a skill not always predetermined from birth. There were a few technicians before Jeremy that I paid through companies I was affiliated with, all ultimately doing the same thing, and my computer kept failing every few months. I said nothing to Jeremy about what they did; that said, Jeremy came back with something different. He said one of my drives was out of commission (I had a dual drive, and I knew this), but the other was going bad and I needed a new one. He requested he take my machine, find a good price on a dual drive, and get it to me soon. The following day he contacted me with a very good price for one solid state drive, told me he could set up the bad one for storage, gave me a wonderful price for labor after all the time spent on my computer and had it to me that day. Bottom line, Jeremy was intuitive, honest, intelligent, extremely personable, professional, knowledgeable and patient. Further, he kept in contact. The end result was that my computer was completely restored, faster than before, at a great price, the work was completed expeditiously and as an extra bonus my laptop was returned cleaned and looking brand new. John took my computer while I was away on vacation with family. He continually contacted me when there was a question or concern and kept me updated, daily as the progress continued. Initially, I had taken my laptop to Fry's and was confused by all of the problems they said I had. While at Fry's I met John, who was a customer, and he asked me what the problem was with my laptop. He indicated that, if I went with Fry's quote, I needed to ensure that they did not charge me for another copy of Windows 7 because it was already installed on my laptop and could be reinstalled after fixing or replacing the hard drive. He gave me his phone number and I decided to call him to discuss this when I got home. I called John and he asked me a lot of questions about the laptop and came to the conclusion that the problem was less serious than was described. He indicated that he could take a look at the laptop and run several programs to assess it's issues. I took the laptop to him and over the period of a week found that the original assessment of 'replacing the hard drive,' purchasing and reinstalling Windows 7 and buying another copy of Microsoft Office was false and he would start working on the fix that very day. He called me for permission to buy 'recovery dvd's from Gateway to ensure that the correct software would be installed with the proper drivers, etc. He indicated that the major problem with the laptop was that it had been used and not 'optimized' for so many years that the software had become corrupted with conflict of drivers, etc. By the time I got home the following week, he had diagnosed the entire laptop, performed a COMPLETE backup of my entire laptop files and re-installed the laptop to Gateway factory specifications, all without charging me any additional fee. Most of what was done did not require me to pay for more software or hardware. John knew what he was doing and my laptop is working better than when it was delivered, brand new. The hard drive did not need to be replaced and I was ecstatic about the work he performed. I can honestly say that he saved me over $250 in repairs that were unneeded and my laptop has never worked better or faster. I will certainly call him again, if the need arises. I appreciated his patience and efforts with this technically challenged individual!!!! Jay has been our computer service guy for the last couple years. He is very important to us in that he has kept our real estate office up and running many times when we were at whits end. He is quick to solve problems. He many times can walk us through an issue on the phone, which is remarkable since neither of us are very computer savvy. He is very knowledgeable, timely, works quick, polite, and patient. Many of the qualities that are required for customer retention. We really do not have anything negative to report. Adam came to my house to fix my laptop which is heating frequently. He cleaned the fan vent and he applied the thermal paste and my laptop is now running smoothly and got a second life. His skills are top notch and I recommend for any pc laptop computer repairs. His rates are very reasonable and he comes to the place to do the repair.
All of the main issues with my PC were resolved, and the staff were clear in their explanations of what needed to happen and how they could do it. The service took quite a while, but I am happy with the overall quality of the repair. The only remaining concern is that the fan is still making a whirring noise as it did before, but it is not as frequent or intense. I would recommend this company to others since they are honest, clear and professional.
