My relatively new Dell PC would not boot. It was just a few months out of warranty. The errors indicated that there was something wrong with the memory. I bought new memory, swapped it out again and again, and still it would not boot. I found John on Thumbtack and am so glad that I did. I dropped the computer off to John and he had it working again in just a day. He somehow fixed the memory issue, but then Windows would not start correctly, so he backed up all of my files and did a restore of the computer to factory Windows 8 settings, and then even did an upgrade to Windows 10. He then re-loaded all of my files and even offered to load Acrobat reader for me. All the while he kept me informed, via text and email, of what he was doing. I was able to drop off and pick up my computer at his house on weekday evenings, so it doesn't get much more convenient than that. John really went above and beyond in his efforts to get my PC running again. He even followed up with me to see how the computer was running and sent me information on how to configure Windows so that it would do automatic backups, which I hadn't been doing.
I recommend John very highly. He has been an IT professional for many years and is incredibly knowledgeable. He's also a real nice guy. The best part of all of this, besides the quality job that he does, is that the total cost was $50. I'll be recommending him to my friends and family when they need computer repair/assistance.
