We decided to have a girls night in cooking class party with Chef Luke and it was the most fun ever! Chef Luke was so nice, managed time perfectly, explained very well, shared his recipes, let us be as hands on or off as we wanted, and the food was truly outstanding. We all had such an amazing night and will be raving about it forever. We'll definitely be calling Chef Luke again. We can't thank him enough!

This review is long long over due! Chef Cassy came to my home to cook for me, my family, and friends as a suprise for my birthday! I came home and she and her staff were already at work in my kitchen. The first thing I noted was that she and her staff were professionally dressed. I loved having a real life Chef in my house cooking for me!! I also noted that although she was cooking several dishes everything seemed to have it's schedule and the process ran smoothly. As it should since Chef Cassy is a professional chef. The food was delicious to say the least. The wonton stuffed with collards and ham are the BEST!! She also prepared salad and a grilled chicken Alfredo dish. I know chicken Alfredo seems like the standard run of the mill dish. Because to me, this dish seems standard. Enough so that, myself along with all of my guests couldn't stop raving about how hers really set a new bar for Grilled Chicken Alfredo! Even the salad which was again a seemingly simple dish was notably delicious and stood out amongst others I have eaten. As far as professionalism and interaction goes, I must say that Chef Cassy remained very professional. She and her staff stuck to what they came to do. But my friends and family being a bit more informal engaged Chef Cassy with conversation, questions, and raves. She blended very well into our relaxed environment as well. We all felt very comfortable with Chef Cassy and would certainly have her back again. I would recommend her to anyone looking for her services and suggest her to anyone who wasn't particularly looking. The whole experience was one I will not soon forget. Thank you Chef Cassy!!!

Claudine's cooking is awesome! I contacted Claudine when I moved to Fort Worth to help get me started on my paleo journey. I was looking for someone to cook/package my meals but what I got was much more! Claudine food was amazing and I didn't even feel like I was on a "diet". She cooked, packaged and delivered everything perfectly. Can't wait to use her services again.

We had a delicious 3 course meal cooked in our house by chef Connor for my husband’s 40th birthday. The risotto he cooked is probably one of the best i’ve had in my life. It was great watching him cook in front of us. He was also super friendly and we enjoyed his conversation very much, We’lll definitely use his services again in the future!

Chef Tim was a great teacher and host for our team building activity. He listened to my requests, provided ample time for my team to prepare food and socialize, and was in budget. It was a memorable experience. You can feel confident in hiring Chef Tim for your next private party, catering event, or in my case team building event/cooking class.

Had no idea how to cook anything but eggo frozen waffles. I put a request for a cooking lesson on thumbtack and set an appointment with Stephanie at Blonde Bakes NYC. In a wonderful, fun ,informative atmosphere I learned to dominate my wife's favorite dish which is Cacio E Pepe and Tiramisu. Phenomenal experience. Thanks Stephanie !

We have been more than pleased with Tanya’s photography, her skills in editing and touch up, her final finished prints and pricing. We have used her more than once and will always call her when we need a photographer. She has done several family portraits for us, she put together a collage of my Mother’s photographs for a poster at Mother’s funeral where she did an amazing job to touch up the photos, she made a wonderful video for our Mother’s funeral and has touched up a lot of other photographs for me. My husband and I highly recommend Tanya Howard for any of your photography and print work. I also have an upcoming milestone Class Reunion in which our Committee has already signed Tanya for doing all the photography at this event. Tanya is very professional and knows how to make the sessions fun. Tanya always made a follow-up call to assure we were satisfied with our prints. Tanya loves what she does & it shows in the quality of her work.

Before I started doing business with Taste Of Miami Catering, I was eating TV dinners (very unhealthy according to my doctor) all the time because I do not cook. Since I met the owner at a picnic last summer, I have been getting real home cooked meals delivered to my house every week. The foods are great, they are different cuisine every week, and she can also custom the menu to meet your taste buds for the week. I would recommend this great service to anybody who is in a similar situation as me, or just do not have time to cook, or just want to try some new foods. Give Taste Of Miami Catering chance to serve you some great foods, and you will not regret it.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do private cooking lessons cost?

You can take private cooking classes to have fun, to learn a new skill, to improve your health, to bond with your partner, to enjoy a playful first date or to have a unique birthday party experience. Nationally the average cost of private cooking lessons ranges between $100 and $150. Prices can vary, depending on where you live, the type of cooking class you’re taking, the ingredients the chef provides, and the reputation of the chef. Cooking classes with Anthony Bourdain will clearly cost more than classes with a local restaurant owner. The number of people in the class will also affect the cost, with group lessons often priced per person to account for the cost of ingredients. For example, for group lessons, a brunch workshop may cost an average of $70 per person, a steak dinner with sides could cost an average of $80-$85 per person, and a sushi lesson could cost an average of $100 per person. Ingredients play a major role in cost, as the chef will pre-purchase the food you will be working with. Weekday classes will usually cost less than weekend classes.
