Very nice couple. Quickly evaluated and fixed my front door issue. The door is very old and the screws that hold up the hinges on the door were loose causing the door to lean. I have to lift the door to open and close. He also noticed my old door was cracking and reinforced it with more screws. Excellent service and would recommend to anyone.

4A was hired to install a single exterior door and an exterior French door including trim around the doors. They did a decent job on the single door. My complaint is on the French door. The door was installed completely not leveled or plumb. There are uneven gaps all the way around the doors and frame. They even had to move the pre installed lock hole latches down a half inch so that the door would lock bc of how uneven it was. Days after their install the doors wouldn’t open and shut without using full force. They used spray foam to fill in the gaps instead of caulk and trim. I gave them a chance to come fix because they say ‘guaranteed services’, but their schedule was always “busy”. I now have to pay someone to come fix their mess so I can use my doors. I would never ever hire them again to install doors. It was not only ugly but also would not function.

Mihai did a phenomenal job on our entry front door. He was very professional, great communication, and was present at the scheduled time. I requested to have the door picked up and he was able to assist. The door replacement went very smooth. Existing door was removed and new door installed. Mihai paid a lot of attention to detail and didn’t cut any corners. A brick base for the door was built, cutting and removing existing tiles, adding spray foam for insulations, and etc. Overall, we are happy with the install and would recommend his service for any door installation.

I had contacted several door companies to fix a Condo Door at one of our listings. We ran into an issue with the door being a commercial door in a residential unit. Several companies wouldn't even come out to look at the door simply because it was inside of a residence. We were quickly approaching our closing date so I reached out to Thumbtack and sent photos of the door as well as the issue we kept running into, to several companies. Jim at Allstate Glassworks responded to my request and squeezed us in to take a look at the door, due to our time restraints. We couldn't even get the door opened, but Jim had all of his supplies with him and was able to open it within minutes. Not only was he able to repair the door, but he got us in quickly, fixed the door and potentially helped us avoid what could have turned into a bad real estate story!

I didn't hire. In my original message, I mentioned 80" door. I meant 80" door opening. I need a rail above an 80" door OPENING to be installed so I can hang a barn door-style door. I apologized for my original message the very first time he pointed out my mistake, and explained what I meant. After 4 or 5 additional unfriendly messages, he was still reminding me that I accidently said 80" door rather than 80" door opening. I apologized every-single-time he mentioned it again. He started one email with "Ok. Look ..." and explained again the difference between 80" door vs 80" opening, which I had already apologized for several times. He needs to always be correct and even after apologizing, we just couldn't see past the 80" door vs 80" door opening situation. I will hire someone friendly or try to do it myself.
