Exceptional work! Knowledgeable, timely and caring. Get this, I called over a handful of roofers and Silverado Roofing was the "Only roofer" who responded, came by or "did not" pushed me aside...

I had a small closet under the stairs that I needed to be finished out and these guys were incredible!! David Gonzales was professional, and kind and knew exactly what I wanted from our first meeting until the end. He brought over a wonderfully talented man, Guillermo, and was able to frame out a door, hang, tape, float, texture the sheet rock, lay tile flooring, install electricity and a light fixture, and paint! The electrician, Jose, also did a wonderful job in moving wires and installing plugs. The job could have taken 2 1/2 days, but they made sure things were drying correctly and did not rush anything. They ended up completing the project in 4 days and it's probably the best room in my house! I would/will hire these guys again in the future and recommend that you do the same! The price was very fair, and I would have paid more (if the budget allowed) to have the ease of the process that David made it! GREAT JOB guys!! Thank you so much for making my tiny closet a BIG deal:-) Katie

I cannot say enough about Adrienne and this company. They took care of all my needs. I was in the process of selling my home and Adrienne took care of every need from roofing, plumbing, electrical, A/C, and even had the house cleaned. She saved me from having to call a list of different companies to get things done. She also had everything completed in under a week, I have never worked with a company that has completed work so fast, amazing quality of work and at a reasonable price.

I needed the fascia board and roofing deck replaced along the front of my home, approximately 20 feet, a very small project. I sent out emails via Angie's list to four roofing contractors. Arran was the first person to reply to my email and was able to come out that day to look at my roof. I did receive responses from two other contractors, but they were unable to look at my roof for another week. Arran conducted a full inspection of my roof. He told me what was right and what was wrong. He did not try to sell me a whole new roof. He confirmed my personal assessment of the roof and itemized what he would do to fix it. I had an estimate the next day. The fascia boards were replaced on the third day. The roofing board and shingles went on today. The job went very well. Arran explained everything in great detail, provided a quick and fair offer, and did not try to sell me a new roof. The work was done incredibly fast and professionally. In all, the work took maybe three hours . Being a small project, I expected to be put off or delayed. That was not the case. He had supplies at the house early and the workers followed soon thereafter to complete the job. Other than I no longer had ugly rotten wood boards along the front of my house, you could not tell work had been done. The job site was clean with no debris left on the ground or in my flower beds. No plants died during the project either!

Edward called and set up an appointment to give us an estimate, he arrived at the appointed time , was very courteous and brought his ladder and measuring equipment, he measured the roof and checked it out. He then sat at the table with us and gave us an overview of what the condition of the roof and what repairs plus a roof needed. He then explained our options and gave us estimates of cost and time for the different options. we chose the metal roof, He told us they could start the week of July 15th. they came out with the material and cut all the metal and stacked it ready for use .they had to wait a day due to rain to start taking the old roof off since more rain was in the forecast the brought more men and took the old roof off and put on the felt and sealed the roof in case of rain.Edward estimated 5 to 7 days for the job , they finished in 7 days ,they did all the repairs and cleaned up and used a magnet to pick up all the nails and metal pieces. it was an excellent job and looks very good and would recommend E.E.R.C. for your roofing needs,

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
