I am a trainer at the City Creek gym with Phil and out of the goodness of his heart, worked with me the same as he does with his personal clients. Let me just tell you, he is hands down more helpful than any counselor or therapist you can have. He works with your struggles but really digs in and helps you make real strides to becoming your personal best. Phil has a great program for anybody looking to be motivated and confident in themselves.

Julie has completely changed my life, my marriage and my spouse and I as individuals. We have been to many counselors and they were basically another ear listening and we didn't get far. Julie at New Beginnings Counseling Agency was a completely different experience, even the initial phone call to make the appointment was a 360 from other offices we had contacted and been to. My husband and I have seen Julie now for almost a year and we see her individually and as couples. She has been the light at the end of the tunnel for us and we couldn't be more pleased. She is so educated in so many different aspects that there isn't something she can't help us with or understand. She has helped our marriage move forward as well as us as individuals to be successful in our lives. We are so grateful for having her apart of our lives:)

Dr. Swinton was able to work with us in the middle of various crises that would have otherwise ended our marriage. His professionalism and expertise showed in every way. Dr. Swinton's support and care quite literally saved my husband's life. We often speak of how we wish every couple had him to help guide the marriage and improve it in ways never thought possible!

In the interest of full disclosure, I am not one of Cynthia's clients. On the other hand, I've known her well in both stressful and unstressful times. I can't imagine a more sincere and deeply concerned counselor than Cynthia. She is a paragon of empathy, but in a way that would make her counsel strong and aggressively relevant, not meek and wishy washy. She has the strength of of an oak married with the flexibility of a willow. Forgive the cliche, but she'll cut through BS like a hot knife through butter. Suitably gently, but not without the necessary forcefulness. If you're looking for a crying towel she might not be your cup of tea. But if you really seek clear-eyed assistance, you won't go wrong with Cynthia.

About

I offer psychotherapy services for adults and teens. If you would like to change your life, therapy is a good way to do it. People pursue therapy for a variety of reasons but typically for the common everyday issues of living that are causing distress -- things they haven't found answers for through other means. Psychotherapy may come in the form of support, information, guidance, self-understanding, or a safe place to learn and practice new skills, which include the following: * Self-Exploration Some people come to therapy to gain a deeper understanding of self. They want to know why they do what they do, why they feel what they feel, and determine how much control they have over those areas. * Support in Coping Loss is a common reason for people to seek therapy. Therapy can provide a safe, supportive place for people to talk about grief, the end of a relationship or job, abuse issues, or any change in life circumstances that cause distress. It helps alleviate anxiety, depression, anger, and confusion. You will be learning new coping skills like better communication for dealing with conflict and frustration, managing emotions, or mindfulness. You will be learning a process for overcoming pain, working through loss, and adding meaning to your life.
